Agreed.  But you can’t reason w these people.

Then maybe it does just need to be burned down so those people can see just how bad things truly can get. If we as a nation re-elect him after all he did prior and what he's DEFINITELY saying he will do when he's back in office then we deserve our fate and the destruction of this country. And all of this because a black man became President and really didn't do all that much but try to give people who needed it government sponsored health care.

We do a decent amount of work in MI and I'm hearing this a lot, from people who hate Trump...they won't vote for Trump and they would have voted for Biden, and now will sit at home.  It's a "Biden is fucking my people (nonsense, I know), so I guess Trump will fuck all of you now."  Yes, it makes zero sense but there's a lot of browns that can swing MI and it's a real worry.  I still thing Biden is looking solid but that war could be what swings this thing...

Then when they are all deported by the Trump administration or their families aren't allowed in the US because of the even larger Muslim Ban that he enacts, I will feel not one ounce of sympathy for any of them. If you want to turn into a one-issue voter intent on ensuring the destruction of this country, you deserve every terrible thing that's coming your way. If these morons think Trump and Biden are the same then enjoy the utter hell that's mostly unleashed on your people. Enjoy Gaza being totally wiped off the face of the Earth, even more starvation with little to zero US aid, massive restrictions on foreign work visas, removal of people who protest against what will happen in Gaza, and all the other terrible things that side is telling you they mostly certainly will do.

Finished Hymn of the Republic. I've found historical non-fiction seems to be my preferred genre. Ii was tempted to go with another Civil War era book but felt it was time to take a break from that. Have this one coming to me for my April read.

This was an excellent read. Very captivating. I'm planning to explore more natical themed non-fiction like the biography of Captain Cook that just came out and Endurance. But next up is something that seemed right up my HBO's Perry Mason loving alley.

A Fever in the Heartland by Timothy Egan (2023)

Kind of wanted it to be more about the Klan in Indiana and less about a murder trial.  But a nice read (audible).

Kind of scarily timely book in certain ways.

If anyone has a rec on a good overall history of the klan, please drop it.

I also have this one my list.

And he hasn't delivered student debt forgiveness to all, I think that drove a large number of young voters (I have a few in my family). Sure he as tried to piecmeal it but that hasn't been what he promised.
I've heard there is weakening support in minorities (gender and race); again the young voters on campus seem to be the backbone of the Palestinian support which is a strike against.

The shift doesn't have to be that great, if MI/Penn/GA - that flips 50 electoral college votes, and that would take less than a million voters to not show up. I am truly afraid of that type of outcome.

Those Palestinian supporters are really going to have something to protest once Trump doesn't even give a shit about giving aid to Gaza. Well, I guess until their families get deported when the Muslim ban returns and the deportations Trump has telegraphed start happening.

  5. I was on a different forum where a guy was trying to argue that some on the left aren't going to vote for Biden because they blame him for Roe v Wade going away. Yes, it's his fault Trump appointed justices voted to repeal Roe. I decided it was time to not engage with that forum any longer.

Every time I watch the news, I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

Interviewee: I don't know if I can support Biden because [insert traditional policy difference]

    Interviewer: Yeah, that's understandable.

ME YELLING: The other guy is going to deport you and imprison your family you dumb fuck!!!

Yeah but this country needs a disruptor. I'm tired of the status quo. What's that? My family is fucked and I'm the one the target is being placed on and not the other guy? Well, why didn't anyone tell me this was going to happen? Thanks a lot, Joe Biden!

  7. Yeah but the cost of McDonald's and Chick-fil-a went up. Nevada and Arizona I could see going red because the desert is full of loons. I don't see Wisconsin going red. Georgia should stay blue but there's enough fuckery going on voting rights that I could see that flipping.

  8. So maybe the plan all along was to go to the Freak but iHeart didn't want to fight to get the HangZone over there. I don't follow him but this popped up while I was browsing Twitter. Read the whole thread. He references the Freak needed one more big show to get the ad sales they needed.
