  1. Disney doesn't care about THIS series making money. It is reported to have cost more than any of the movies in the entire history of the franchise. I think one report was 650 million since it's like shooting 4 movies in one season. They will never make that investment back and they seem perfectly fine with it. This is no different than a prestige film that isn't going to make it's production back. They absolutely care about the movies making money hence Mandalorian being a theatrical experience now. That's why they switched from TV that will never pay back what they need but filled a hole due to Covid that's now gone. But let's be honest, Star Wars absolutely does not lend itself to anything like this. It took a special writer with vision to make a series like Andor. And that only happened because he was asked to clean up a flawed movie. Then he was asked to treat a series and fundamentally changed it from a buddy heist series with a robot to what he made it into. It also took Lucasfilm and Disney having the balls to greenlight a 2nd season when they knew it would lose them money to do so. There will be nothing like this again because Star Wars was never designed to be something this deep on a human level. It was laser swords and space wizards. That is what people want to see. That's why the Mandalorian is more popular. It's the traditional Star Wars that all the nostalgia bones tingle for. This is more adult. That's never going to catch on as well as what's come before. It's also a bottle series. It has a definitive beginning and end. It's not open ended like everything else. It's not going to spawn sequel series. It is done and that's why Gilroy can go for broke with it. Bitch about Disney all you want but Disney is also who greenlit this. We will never get anything else like again it because this is a black swan. Instead of being a whiny buzzkill, just enjoy what we're getting.
  2. Danny Farquhar and Showless Jew Jackson.
  3. The Watch does a really good breakdown on the last arc. I normally don't want to listen this intently to breakdowns of content I watch but there's so many layers to Andor and the writing that it's great to get this kind of detail. Gilroy has really built this show on show much history that's come before like the French resistance, double agents, and propaganda. https://open.spotify.com/episode/178MGIi610urK95yhGmVUL?si=c152a40888cb44d3
  4. There won't be any more of these from Disney+. Ahsoka season 2 is probably the end of the line for a while for TV shows. Maybe they'll do some one off limited series like the SW horror series that's in production. Disney already flipped back to the theatrical model for Star Wars. That's why the Mandalorian is a movie now and not another season. Best we can hope for now is animated series like Maul.
  5. The great thing about this show is Disney absolutely doesn't care about viewership. This is all about being creative and having a prestige TV program. It's also about telling a great story and we've seen that's not always something that garners high ratings. I wish we didn't give a shit about ratings. I never heard about it when the Sopranos, The Wire, Breaking Bad, and Mad Men were in their prime.
  6. The last two were both really good. His house was the same one they did The Oner in, right?
  7. It's most certainly an IMAX-ey movie. Watch the video I posted on the previous page where Coogler talks about what you'll see if you watch it on IMAX. There are multiple portions that are full aspect ratio including a great part where the camera zooms out and the full image is perfect. He shot this with an IMAX 70mm camera.
  8. You're paying for convenience and to not be bothered by ads. If that's worth $8 a month to you then great.
  9. 9 theaters will get the IMAX 70mm print again on May 15 to May 21. I'm assuming this is due to a two week exclusive window for Thunderbolts. Those theaters include: City Walk Stadium 19 + IMAX (Los Angeles) Irvine Spectrum and IMAX (Irvine) Lincoln Square 13 + IMAX (New York) Metreon 16 + IMAX (San Francisco) Indiana State Museum (Indianapolis) Arizona Mills IMAX (Phoenix) Autonation IMAX (Ft. Lauderdale) Webb Chapel IMAX (Dallas) Colossus IMAX (Toronto)
  10. Maybe he's doing mollies to prepare for Mahle
  11. I doubt Gilroy dips into Rebels territory at all. I think we'll see her final days in the Senate next week after what happens in Ghorman which I guess will happen in the middle episode. Her speech will make her an enemy of the Empire and I bet we'll get the fallout to her family and Chandrila. The final arc will probably pick her story back up on Yavan.
  12. Was listening to this game while reading my book last night. So frustrating to have multiple innings of 2 to 3 left on base. Hate wasting a Eovaldi game when he's keeping us in it.
  13. It's the first day of the first grade and she found a new best friennnn /a guy who had a friend who hated God.
  14. Well that was pretty quick to come from overseas
  15. Gilroy has talked about not really wanting to write legacy characters into the story. That's why you won't see Darth Vader or the Emperor in Andor. He didn't really have a choice in Rogue One since he needed Vader to always be lurking and then of course the great pay off at the end.
  16. On a diplomatic mission to Alderaan.
  17. Ryan Coogler is a big fan of women also experiencing oral pleasure.
  18. You don't need spoilers. He sent Vel to get the Ghormans down the path to rebellion that Cassian wouldn't sign off on. Vel wanted Cinta on the mission or she wouldn't do it. Luthen knows Vel is a true believer and wouldn't hesitate to do the mission if it could be pulled off. We're assuming "the accident" Cinta was in was killing Tay in his car?
  19. It has to be good. Supposedly, Jordan Peele tried to win the auction for the rights to the script and fired his management team after he lost it.
  20. Bit of a yey boo on 6 with the doctor and Cinta. Glad Bix can sleep again. The viewing scene was pretty damn tense. Kleya is a stealth hottie. The Ghormans are f'ing dumbasses that are the perfect cannon fodder for Luthen. Ghorman is Star Wars France? Correct me if I'm wrong on Wilmon. He was using a piece of tech that poisons air? They were pumping poison into the Imperial base or was it stealing fuel? The Mon vs Krennic stuff was incredible. The world building is just top notch. Some good easter eggs in this one. D'Qar was the Resistance planet in The Force Awakens. The Tarkin Massacre on Ghorman is discussed but not shown. I was under the impression it happened in this timeline. So now we're getting a 2nd Ghorman massacre. Bail Organa was recast because Jimmy Smits couldn't make it work with his schedule. https://ew.com/andor-creator-recasting-bail-organa-star-wars-benjamin-bratt-11721954
