my brother is an archeologist based out of central america and the yucatán.  he has found some cool fucking shit. including the “maize” god.  Locals would take newborns and bound their heads in a way that would make it resemble an ear of corn when older. they would then use these “gods” to reenact their “creation of the world” event in religious ceremonies.

You sure he isn't based out of Southeast Nebraska?

Reminds me of one of my favorite industry stories from the 90's. Tony Kaye was an English director of major brand commercials. After years of trying, he finally got his big break to direct a Hollywood movie, American X, which starred Edward Norton. Being a first-time movie director, he lost control of the edit and got really mad with the results. At a bizarre meeting to which he brought a rabbi and an Imam to, he met with the studio execs and demanded a re-edit, but the studio held firm. So he took matters in to his own hands and took out a full-page ad in Hollywood Reporter saying the upcoming movie was total crap and he disavowed any ownership of it. He actually wrote telling people not to watch it, haha.

Before the ad came out, he got a surprise call. Amazingly, the studio heads decided that he had actually made some good points in their meeting and they were going to give him full creative control of the edit!! Tony Kaye frantically called the newspaper and tried to stop the publication of the ad, but it had already been printed and was being distributed while he spoke, hahahaha!

The ad came out and they called him, and told him he was was fucking fired forever, haha. Now he makes videos for bands, etc, but the dumbass has never again made a large budget Hollywood movie.  I may have read that he has since bought the footage of American X and finally cut his own version of the movie, but not sure about that, lol.

  3. I'm not sure of the tech reasons but my buddy that runs a golf cart biz here in Lake Charles quit/won't install AGM battery sets due to issues with them. They'll only deal with conventional Trojan deep cycles or lithium packs. Trojans are great but I plan on converting my Club Car to lithium next time it's ready. I'm tired of the watering and the mess on my garage floor.

edit - I don't know if it's the same with AGM or your charger setup but I also make sure that I unplug/replug the charge cable once a week if I'm not driving the cart for long periods. My charger will top up the cart after discharge, but it won't auto maintain the batteries after they've charged fully. If it sat for 6 weeks with no use I'd walk out to a mostly dead cart even if it had been plugged in the whole time.

This was my first truck (one just like it).  Bought it used while I was still in college.  It was a beast.

Same here. My first truck was a ‘93 Mazda B2600i 4x4 SE-5 regular cab. Last year that Mazda made their own rig. Unstoppable. It had 187,000 miles on the odometer and ran like a fucking top when I traded it in for 2000 Chevy S-10 ZR2, which is still the most bone-headed vehicle decision I’ve ever made.

  5. We're about to ditch the wife's 21 Escalade for this. 6.2 with no engine/powertrain problems at all but have had multiple electrical gremlins over the years. A formal recall will smite the resale.

Pondering on investing in steel 5 gallon buckets. Three for $50 on amazon. Maybe I need a gofundme.

Ever considered bags? Working load of 3000lbs and rated for 5x that. $20 each for a ~ 3x3x3:
