aggy math says Gators are leading 29-18.

    Gators win 31-26!!

    Lol

How different would history be if all championship series were tallied this way.

I mean hell, golf does it. Why can’t the other sports?

    🤣

This is no doubt true in our world of widespread ignorance. But they were never going to pay Leach. To suggest otherwise is fatuous at best. Leach underestimated how petty and self destructive (and destructive of what they professed to defend) the people who ostensibly want the best for Tech were willing to be. He may have been happier in the final analysis; he received better treatment elsewhere once he got back into coaching.

    Things had soured, no doubt.

But I cannot say with certainty that had he served the suspension that a firing would still have occurred.

It wasn’t a both sides issue, and I’ve yet to see a single person that “forgets” Leach was suspended first. What people do forget to use is the word “wrongfully.” As in “Mike Leach was wrongfully suspended and subsequently wrongfully fired.” Yes, there are certain defenders of the faith in Kent Hance and Craig James’ provably false make believe and pretend bedtime stories that do indeed forget to use that word. But that shouldn’t surprise anyone. Sports bring out the stupid in everyone. After all, there are still people who believe in Mike Nifong.

Ok, perhaps no one has forgotten.

But I can garrandamntee you that 14 years later there are folks that have no clue whatsoever about the suspension

  4. Of course, Mike could have waited a day, and therefore still qualify for the bonus due to still being employed instead of taking Tech to court over being suspended - not fired - suspended  - which occurred first and people conveniently forget happened.

There was dumbassery by all parties involved.

The Cardinals play in a dome with a retractable roof.  Arizona and ASU play outside.  Here is where the Sun Devils play.

It’s still outdoors but it don’t look like that anymore…

I vastly prefer ESPN+ to Peacock. We have the Hulu/Disney+/ESPN+ combo which is a pretty good deal. I can also watch OSU baseball and softball. I'm not signing up for another streaming service for a few games a year and Saved by the Bell reboots. I have no idea though if I'm in the majority or the minority. Today's release has OSU v Central Arkansas and v. South Alabama on ESPN+, and there can really be no seriously complaints, because those are some super shitty matchups. We usually only have one per year. I'm more upset that our ASU game in Tempe is not only on FS1, but will start at 9:30 pm central. I'm old, that's fucking late, even for a Saturday.

    I’m with ya.

Already have the Disney bundle on top of my cable/Internet combo and don’t wish to add another service.

Each team had 10 conference series (30 games) in SECSECSEC in 2023.

When Texas and Mobilehoma join the SECSECSEC, they will also have 10 conference series (30 games) which will consist of 2 permanent opponents and 8 rotating opponents, and divisions will be eliminated.  (Source: https://www.secsports.com/article/35857432/seven-sec-sports-future-scheduling-formats-approved)

    "Baseball

    • Regular season: Each season a team will play a three-game series against two permanent opponents and eight rotating opponents, for a total of 30 conference games. Standings will be kept in a single-division format.
    • SEC Baseball Tournament:  Format to be determined."

Wasn’t really wanting that answered but thanks for finding it nonetheless.

    - Current SECSECSEC  is 14 teams

    - NewBig12 will be 14 teams (next year)

    - I would assume, then, that NewBig12 will be similar to SECSESEC

    Having said that...

How ‘bout that Red Raider walk off win!!!

    Go Tech!! Wreck ‘Em!!!

Since Tech will be on the road for the NCAA regionals, learning how to stay, and play in the winners’ bracket might be huge for this young team

Since the SEC move doesn't happen until July 1, 2024, what will the 2024 Big 12 baseball schedule look like with 4 new teams in the conference?

If you can't play a round-robin schedule, how many conference series will there be per team?

How does the SECSECSEC do it now?

Freaks usually has a athletic connotation to it. It is not every good player. Colt is one of the best Big 12 players ever, but I would not put him on the list of Big 12 freaks.

I agree with you on Colt’s B12 career. A baller every time he stepped onto the field.

But Wes is a freak for different reasons - just ask Brady and Manning.

  10. *If* the ACC breaks up and FSU, Clemson, Miami, NC are off the board

    and the BIG grabs Oregon/Wash

Big12 targets should be (in order)

    Big16:

    1. Arizona

    2. Utah

    3. Pitt

    4. ‘Ville

    Big18:

    5. ASU

    6. CU

    Big20: any combo of two

    7a. NCST

    7b. Memphis

    7c. VTech

    7d. SDST

As I said, "Nobody signs until everybody signs". None of the 4 corners are going to sign away their GOR right now. Then a month from now OUW take off for the BIG.

That may be true but I was alluding to there not being an offer anywhere close to 60% linear. The latest from Apple (if true) was 80% streaming and 20% linear.

I saw this on another chat room and since its on the internet it must be true.

"The new PAC10 media rights deal will be announced on April 12th. It will be a six year 2.4billion deal. That comes out to 30million a year per team, BUT ONLY IF THEY DON'T EXPAND! They will stay at ten teams. This is the strategy the Big12 employed when we lost our first two teams. We stayed at ten and therefore our payout per team went up with only ten mouths to feed. There is absolutely ZERO reason for them to expand considering the teams available. All the schools that the PAC has considered will be left at the alter. The conference leaders will be able to claim that they did their due diligence to get back to 12 teams but none of the options passed to high standards for admission into the conference of champions."

So everybody stays, no expansion, and their media rights deal will be smaller than the Big12's, but with just 10 teams they'll each get almost as much as a Big12 team.

I was told there would be no math but...

    How does 2.4B / 6 / 10 = 30M?
