I would consider ditching FWK a big sign that he's making smart decisions and is ready to make the leap. If he's all in, his path via Texas has future draft pick on it.

That info is coming from one random poster on that site.  I'd tap the brakes a bit on the "Shepherd ditched FWK" narrative.

No, that is not the argument.  The argument is most Republicans I know would welcome the exit of California if they took their politics with them....

Crater the national economy to own the libs.

oh okay, just whataboutism? creating equivalences? How would you describe what you did, then?

Legitimate positives are discussed re: California.

You and your buddies whine about conditions found in every big city in America, but falsely associate them solely to California.

Me pointing that out is not any of the things you want it to be.

I love when liberals try to tell us how beautiful and amazing California is because they like the politics and act like the couple of times they've gone is superior to those who have lived there or traveled extensively there.

I love when republicans try to tell us how terrible and dirty California is because they hate the politics and act like every major city in America doesn't have similar issues.

She has a lot of the same Hamptons backers. I’ve been told that’s of no consequence, though.

Not singling you out, although you are definitely following the script, but it's been fun to watch Republicans concern troll over the Dem. candidates.

"They actually have morals and beliefs and will base their nominee off of these hahahahahah"

I tried to explain some of the Russia stuff to one of my right leaning friends over the last few days.

I told him I couldn't convince him of anything and he would have to investigate on his own and decide for himself.

I checked back with him last night and he said he was looking into it.

He then sent me a link to a 36 minute youtube video of Dan Bongino proving the whole Mueller investigation is a fraud which he said he fact checked as he watched.

    This is a true story.

need more details but him being on Empire seems unimportant in regards to why he was attacked. From the initial CNN report:

Smollett was attacked by two people "yelling out racial and homophobic slurs," according to police.

Sources directly connected to Jussie tell TMZ, the actor arrived in Chicago from New York late Monday, and at around 2 AM he was hungry and went to a Subway. We're told when he walked out, someone yelled, "Aren't you that f***ot 'Empire' n*****?"

The 2 men -- both white and wearing ski masks -- viciously attacked Jussie as he fought back, but they beat him badly and fractured a rib. They put a rope around his neck, poured bleach on him and as they left they yelled, "This is MAGA country."

I love that I have great coverage for a family of 4 for $80 a pay period and the last time my kid went to the dermatologist the copay was $10 and the medication was $10 (was previously $250 on a different employer plan). I think it's the contrast that makes me love the insurance, because before I was paying like $480 a month (deduction from pay check) for insurance that was more expensive with copay and rx. It's like this new insurance is giving me a pay raise.

M4A is going to be a cost much much more for your average Joe Sixpacks like me.

At least Perot actually had somewhat of a platform: 1) oppose NAFTA and 2) balance the budget.

Listening to an interview with Schultz this morning on NPR, he flat out said he was running based on his rags to riches life story and explicitly stated that it was NOT because of his business background.

After criticizing Warren for wanting to raise taxes on the wealthy to pay for new programs, he then went on to refuse to answer a question about his willingness to raise taxes on the rich to reduce the deficit.

He didn't put forth a single policy idea and I simply cannot see what distinguishes him other than he figured out that the best way to sell over-priced coffee was to sell *the idea* of drinking gourmet coffee in a cafe-style environment while not treating is employees like shit. Yeah, that makes him better than most corporate titans.

When asked about how he would get other corporations to focus on both shareholder value while also treating their employees fairly, he said he'd use his personal influence to appeal to their morality (rather than strengthening labor protection laws).

Man, I just won't get the appeal until he actually lays out a platform than I can objectively consider.

There's nothing "independent" or different about him, he just wants the notoriety of running for President and is too chickenshit to enter a primary.

Interesting that he's come out swinging against the left and (so far as I know based on this thread) hasn't characterized the $1.5 trillion tax give away to him and his billionaire buddies as "untenable."

I really, REALLY, think the left is overreacting to his bid.  The blowback so far has been encouraging, and he's doing his best to only appeal to right leaning folks.

  13. I know it doesn't really matter, but are we expecting the official Longhorn twitter account to release one of those "Welcome to Texas" images that they do when they get the faxes from players on NSD?  I know it's done, but is there some cutoff that makes him OFFICIAL official?

Schultz doesn’t have to take a huge chunk of votes to swing an election.

how many votes did Gore lose Florida by and how votes did Nader get?

How many votes did Trump win Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania by?

I'm just trying to figure out why Democrats are worried about Schultz.  I feel like moderates who held their nose and voted for Trump in 2016 and regret it, but just aren't able to pull the lever for a Democrat, are the primary group from where his (not many) votes will come from.

Anyone who voted for Hillary in 2016 will do so again with a stronger candidate and even worse Trump.  New voters seem to be enthusiastically Democrat, but regardless nobody is registering to vote just for Howard Schultz.

Unless people think the Bernie Bros will vote for him out of spite, even though his platform is pretty much the complete opposite of Bernie's?
