RE: 6-11 yo vax; lazy googling did not turn up much other than 'vax makers may submit emergency auth request in Sept or Oct'

Is there a more definitive plan?  This probably puts vax available for that age group at Dec or so.  Earlier on, it seemed like 6-11 would follow right on the heels of the 12 and up group, but does not look like the case now.

I would submit, unsurprisingly, that there’s no justification for an EUA in that age group given their age, the lack of severity of their disease, and the low community levels of Covid. It should go through standard BLA approval which can take months longer.

Long story short, this is no longer an emergency so no need to rush these approvals especially for children.

  2. With some of the vaccinated population now getting infected, there could be some interesting things to investigate. How much natural immunity do you acquire if you had an infection that was dampened by vaccination? Would you acquire significant T cell mediated immunity in addition to the vaxxed/natural B cell immunity?

We might have a new cohort of vaccinated people that got infected, but pass on the boosters.

    In Texas we certainly do.

I thought we were talking about South Africa?

TBH i know very little about South Africa except for a couple facts. They had those annoying noise makers at their World Cup and that handicapped sprinter murdered his hot af girlfriend.

So prices were up a lot for things that had supply chains seriously impacted by COVID and also had constrained demand during COVID that has been released- eg vehicles, fuel, clothes. Meanwhile, prices stayed basically the same for things with neutral or lower demand. Everyone freak out!

How much is the contribution of more money chasing goods?

I’m not sure if or how it could be parsed out but this month is the start of essentially a new UBI program and I wonder what the contribution from that could be.

Over pas 12 months. Trimmed mean CPI is 2.6%

I don’t claim to be an expert on all the different indices of the CPI, but the fact is that these things continue to surprise to the upside.

Civilians starting to put out lists of their missing loved ones.

I count 114 names. I thought maybe you posted it was estimated at 80 earlier. I’m sure it’s not an exhaustive list though.

Twitter is saying that Venezuelan soldiers are going to be brought in.

I have my doubts, as that's an easy rumor to spread, but if it turns out to be true, that means the leaders have lost faith in the military, and that will also energize the people like nothing.  All it takes is one massacre by foreign soldiers, and the gloves will truly be off.

You would still have the problem of protestors with baseballs vs a now emotionally unattached military ready to dispatch them.

Not really my concern whether or not Cuba saw "real Communism" or whatever, just pointing out the obvious reality that we have spent decades actively suppressing their economic potential and our sheep population pays zero attention and just nods along to what the news media tells them.

    Never mind.

About the only thing they have going for them is an educated populous, they have no money on which to live. For sure, it can't go to straight Capitalism. You could start with giving everyone Deeds of Ownership to their farmland and dwellings. Set up a transparent commission to determine far market value of some of the beachfront property to sell off to foreign investors and divide that between all citizens. Let farmers keep what they can raise and barter the access off for cell phones, mopeds, TVs, etc. I don't think you will see huge salary discrepancies, like we have, here in the States. Doctors and engineers probably won't make twice as much as farmers. Having a roof over your head, the lights on, and food in your belly should be your concern, not who gets the wealth, or how its generated. Those are 1st World issues, they won't be thinking that far ahead.

What a huge change to make. It has to be scary for them, but when things get bad enough people will be willing the roll the dice.
