IIRC his junior year was a spring league with only 6 games due to COVID and his senior year was normal. His team and competition were all kind of a wash. Didn't play much as a sophomore. He's been in training/camps/etc forever but doesn't have as many reps as most. I think he committed before even being a varsity starter.

This. Being a fb stud in CA when covid hit and injuries impacted his development. He's on a good trend but we need QB1 to take a big step forward and stay healthy.

Oh boy, Jason Suchomel is saying today that TTU insiders are confident AF about getting Michah Hudson the same way they were cocky about getting Ewers in the portal after the 2021 regular season.

    Jesus not this again.

This recruitment is 995's drama de'jour for this cycle.

One thing Sark has done that I very much appreciate, he's shifted the drama of wr recruiting to his game day apparel.

  3. At least Pierce has moved the lineup around and separated them. It was an automatic back to back outs

Are we sure that no one on the bench can play 2nd & short? These two have had their opportunity and failed.

  4. Just like the men’s team, playing Holle and Muhammad is like playing Hunter and Mitchell. We are just down scorers. Both Morris and Moore should be taking those minutes if healthy

Hopefully Gaston is ok moving forward. I was hopeful Hunter was going to take a positive step in year 2, she’s MIA. Moore was expected to be our top player before the season & her attempts to realize that role failed before injury which is a killer. I expected her to get into form at this time of year. Morris was starting to give quality minutes & goes down.

It’s helped develop others but man, we have some real weaknesses.

Hate to say it but the officials f’n hate Vic at Texas.
  5. CDC has done some good things but he’s not infallible. Since I have had some exposure to him through BB, I don’t have as much confidence in him as I did. He has made some good hires but probabilities suggest he is due for a stinker and I expect we might see it here.  Even the best don’t have a 100% batting average.

    Bloody hell..what employee is “infallible”?

His HC hires are not yet the reason to dislike the man.
  6. Apparently Vic talked about the incoming freshman at the luncheon. Booker is the first, Boutilier is probably the second (she’s 6’9 you either have it or don’t) and Maul is the third.  Codio may the fourth mentioned
Fans will love a 6'+ incoming freshman that plays like a point guard. She and her family are very excited and can not wait to join Texas next year.

Another 6'+ incoming freshman will develop slowly and will spend her first several months with the track team, learning how to run, and how to run fast. But she has something you either have or do not have.

A newcomer with the team (and her family) made a great decision to enroll early and receive the medical support and rehab services that would not be possible in HS.

Another newcomer will not see the court before October at the earliest due to rehab, so it will take quite a bit of time for her to return to play. Therefore, it is not currently possible for Vic to evaluate her game.

Also did not list Shaylee among the seniors to be honored at Senior Day (Morris, Masudi and Gutierrez) so very likely Shaylee is taking her 6th year next year

    Anything re:K. Hunter?

  7. Cincinnati has some really pretty neighborhoods. Wife was offered a job there several years ago and we were both really surprised when we went to visit the city and look at houses. A lot of the old neighborhoods, like Indian Hills above, are built around the old village concept with each village having a little village center. We looked at some really nice houses in Indian Hills. Didn't end up taking the job, but we were pleasantly surprised by the city.

If you’re ok never having to leave your village or farm and can afford to be out of town 6-8 months a year..any shitty place becomes acceptable.

That’s awesome. We only had 2600 for ISU last year. Vic is creating a monster, helped a lot by how great Moody is

Crowd was good for a Sunday on a holiday weekend and I'm sure Coach received some feedback that getting into Moody before the game was a shit-show. Can't believe I'm typing this but parking staff was on the ball and actually helpful yesterday. Gate staff needs someone in leadership who knows what they're doing on gameday.

    Great team win.

*Finally, there’s a good chance Christian Jones will return to the program. Word is his draft grade wasn’t what he’d hope and he believes he can improve it by utilizing his Covid year.

    ---------------------------------------------

If Christian Jones comes back, the entire 2022 starting O-line is returning.    But I expect we'll see some starters either switching positions, or losing their jobs.

(Example is Christian Jones might be moving to a guard position to help him get ready for the NFL.  I also won't be surprised to see Hayden Conner gets a lot more reps at right tackle along with Cam Williams during the spring.)

Good, let's see the competition. Banks should be the only returner guaranteed to start day 1 on the OL.
