  1. I think this is math vs human perception. We know all to well the perception of a team that wins by couple of points by scoring in the last seconds. The whole post game is about how this team is a winner, their players are amazing, their future is bright, etc. and the losers are the opposite; whereas in reality, it is a statistical tie. This dichotomy is so pronounced that I find it very amusing watching games when I don't have any rooting interest. But for the computer, not only is it a statistical tie, but the loser may have, in quantifiable terms, played better than the winner. But in the human poll, they lose 10 spots and the winner gains 5 spots, and the division is magnified beyond reality. All S&P is saying is that given a Baylor or Tulsa or KSU or God forbid, Maryland, we are a one score toss-up, or in other words, a statistical tie. Also, given an ISU, OSU or TTech, we are predicted to be, surprise-surprise, a toss-up. The difference of some toss-ups being above us is secondary effects.

    WVU - ISU

I don't think so. They are in the top half of Big 12.

    WVU - ISU

ISU is having its way with WVU DL.
  4. that was a push off with both hands. Clear foul.
  5. terrible coverage
  6. nice tackle by Jones
  7. He injured while running for 1st down earlier (ESPN app)
  8. This game is rivaling the aggy-kentucky game.
  9. They are there. They own their own land in Ohio and also TCU land, PSU land, OrSU land, etc. You may be confusing the 2018 map with the 2017 continuation map, which treats 2018 games as a continuation of 2017 season. It is below. We also show up in this map courtesy of OU.
  10. Yes, the LEDs could be optional. Usually, the areas that lack water/irrigation have plenty of sunlight, which should allow for solar powering the operations, including the optional LEDs. For example, I read somewhere that Saudi Arabia grows alfalfa in Arizona(?) and has it shipped. There was some outcry since this crop is a water hog. Can they do Hydroponics and grow it in their desert climate? Same thing for North African countries, what with Sahara expanding due to climate change, etc.
  11. What about Hydroponics, such as vertical crops in green houses with LEDs? They supposedly use a fraction of water, don't use soil, grow faster due to artificial light cycling, and potentially safer (minimal need for pesticides, etc.) Is it economically viable on a large scale? Could solve lot of food related issues around the world where soil and irrigation are not optimal.
  12. And out endowment has more than doubled to nearly $30B, with a $16B profit from the OU game. Only ND is ahead of us with $35B endowment. Since we are heavy favorites against Baylor, the potential profit is relatively small ($2.5B), though potential loss would be huge (half of $30B).
  13. This is so comical, it is sad.
  14. Is is self-affirmation in the reflected glory off of the #13 ranked team, regardless of win or loss.
  15. how is that a penalty?
  16. that last pass also made to the WR. He just T Rexed it.
  17. weekly update on the imperialism map. We didn't gain any land by beating KSU, but there is a nice chunk of land spread across to gain from OU. In the continuation map, OSU now owns most of the USA, besides also taking the belt from PSU. On endowment betting front, we made $1.76B profit by beating KSU. We can potentially more than double our current $13.34B endowment by beating OU. Stanford fell from the top spot when it lost half of its $45B endowment by losing to ND.
  18. Besides our misplaced passes on offense, the other issue is the seeming ineffectiveness of our blitzes. I don't know if it is the scheme or the players. Even if got to the QB, it was mostly due to the pass defense rather than blitz reaching early. OU is very good at screen game and will punish blitzing. We should keep everything in front and have a single person blitzing infrequently to keep QB uncomfortable.
  19. PSU D gave up the big winning drive, and that was the difference in the game.
  20. With a QB like this, you leave the ball in his hand. Scramble, run or pass
  21. nice play knowing you are going for 4th
  22. McSorley is one confident QB. Makes decisive decisions.
  23. PSU defense was putrid this drive
  24. he was across the line
  25. that's a killer
