  1. My wife started buying paper products and putting them in our guest house last year when the shortages started. At some point she decided that we needed to store some food over there. A couple weeks ago she brought the bags of food into the kitchen to sort them out.

Any guesses on how much was expired after one year? If you said all but 1 box of spaghetti you would be absolutely correct. She threw away two plastic bags of shit that was expired that she had stored away because “we might need it”.

  2. Let's say George Floyd had 5700mL of blood in his body, which is the high average amount of blood in humans. 11 nanograms is .011 micrograms. 0.11mcg x 5700mL is 62.7mcg of fentanyl in his entire body. I give 100mcg of fentanyl at a time to patients regularly, including many who do not have an opioid tolerance already built up.

George Floyd probably had more than 5700mL of blood in his body, but he also had plenty of body mass. 100mcg of fentanyl would not kill him, especially if he used fentanyl with any regularity.
ETA: someone doublecheck my math and make sure I'm not being stupid

I thought I read that he had 11.0 ng/ml of fentanyl, 5.6 ng/ml of norfentanyl and 19 ng/ml of meth. I could be misremembering.
  3. I did something similar recently in our conference room. Single TV with a windows PC and Linux Thin Client. I’ll dig out the CDW quote tomorrow and get you the model number. I did have to add a USB hub because the dongle for the wireless keyboard/mouse was on the back of the switch and sometimes it was slow to respond. I simply plugged the usb hub in the back and moved the dongle to the front of the hub. Works really well now from anywhere in the pretty large room.

  4. A great big FUCK YOU to the person who decided to hit my truck and drive off in the hooters parking lot last night. I went to look at the lot cameras in their office but they were old cameras. All we know is it is an older silver dodge truck. Cameras were blurry so couldn't pick out the plate.

Luckily no dents, but Monday I takecit in and fork over $820 to fix it. 07af73e7cd11e34d05900a4ebf97c40f.jpg

Did that same person steal the gas out of your truck last weekend?
  5. It was mentioned before, but what’s your background? We lost a process control engineer recently and we are thinking about replacing him with someone with a strong OT/IT background. We would want someone who is proficient in VMWare, Veeam, network configuration, ESXi, familiar with Nimble storage and HP server hardware. This is on the process control side of the house, so we would be looking for someone who understands the urgency when we have issues and willing to jump in and help. You would get to work directly with me everyday, so there is that bonus. Let me know if this is something that fits or if you have questions.

  6. Had some good BBQ this week.  Naamans in Texarkana and Bodacious on Mobberly Ave in Longview.  Both are always damn good.

We haven’t been to Naamans since they moved across the road. I’ve heard good things about their entire menu.
