  1. The Democrats control the US House. If there are challenges to a states electoral count, any motion to exclude any states electoral count must be approved by both the US House and Senate. A Democrat controlled House will not pass that motion. it doesn’t matter if every single Republican rep and senator votes to exclude. January 6th is not the worry.
The worry is Trump breaking things on his way out

You’re right about breaking things, but I am in no way discounting the amount of fuckery afoot. This administration has proven time and time again that they don’t give a damn about civility or norms.

Feel free to relax... I won’t be joining you.
  2. Because there are still a few acres of pristine wilderness left on the planet, a huge fuck you to the earth and to future generations:

Sweeping executive order on Day-1 that cancels all Trump Administration policies / decrees.

I hate the precedent, but all of this garbage needs to hit the wastebin ASAP

  3. anyone in dallas making it over to specs to get that barrel pick of the sagamore rye?  i would love a bottle if you do.  shoot me a PM and we can figure something out.

Anytime y’all are in need of something like that LMK and I’ll see what I can arrange from the distillery. I’m there... often
  4. Yeah, it’s not looking pretty... family just called off Christmas for anyone flying in, so the misses and I get two weeks to do whatever the fuck we please.

Can’t believe the number of people who flew home last weekend... the airports at Christmas are going to be a complete cluster!

  5. I mix it up and have a ton of open bottles, probably around 100, but what I find myself drinking the most:

    - Buffalo Trace
    - Woodinville
    - Sazerac Rye
    - Old Forester 1910
    - Eagle Rare

  6. i've always wondered about jhob pricing.  they're a fun instagram follow because of photos like that, but hearing that blanton's is $400 is...disappointing.
is that just the regular rock hill farms?

Yeah, some straight looting going on in there... I respect that they have a lot of choices at retail prices, but the vast majority of that is easily acquired at any liquor store or repute.

The RHF in my second pic is the BiB but I believe they had multiple on offer. They were asking $350 for the standard bottle that I paid $109 for at my local a few weeks ago.
  7. Sure is... the RHF BiB tucked into the corner there ain’t no slouch either. Seriously, some of those bottles are simply insane. Can’t believe I missed a chance to buy that Fitz 17 for retail by a few hours earlier this year sad.png

  8. Gentlemen, I present to you, the “Tennessee Run”:

Only had time for one Kentucky stop at Justin’s on the way home, and while their selection is excellent, those prices are stupid... $400 for regular Blanton’s?!

There was a cabinet that made me consider giving up all my worldly possessions however...

  9. Of all the outstanding whiskey I’ve had in Tennessee this week, tonight’s 1-2 punch may have left the most inedible impression.

Dinner at Husk tonight demanded quality, so I opened up with 2017 ER17. Just a beautiful pour, taking everything I love about ER, extending the mouthfeel and softening the backend. If I could, I would drink this every day.

After dinner I went down to the bar to see if they had anything off list, and was stunned to find this year’s Heaven Hill 27 BP sitting next to a Yellowstone from the 70’s. Was able to convince them to give me a 1oz pour for half-price and good lord what a ride... Soft yet powerful, bright yet layered with darker notes. Just a magnificent pour all the way through and I only wish it had lasted longer.

Perhaps 10-20 mins after I emptied the glass, multiple people at the table where picking up the sweetness of the most wafting through the room, which is pretty remarkable coming out of a glencairn.

  10. My pallet has changed so much. It’s iffy between Weller 12 vs Poor Man’s Pappy. I’d taste both if you’re not sure.

PMP is definitely better than regular Antique.

Agree with that sentiment, but still prefer the 12 straight... especially if it’s vintage.
