Needed some more hand sanitizer so figured I might as well buy local... had them throw a bottle in too.
Whiskey bar is also shaping up nicely in the basement...-

That’s outstanding, Reynolds!

Really like what the Ravens are putting together.
I’m ecstatic - Have to find a way to get all the Ravorns on a single jersey for next year.
It will probably be hideous, and I’ve never been a jersey guy, but fuck it let’s ride! -
Stools for the bar I’m building arrived today:
The bar front comes in tomorrow, then I’m sitting down to plot out the bar back. Will post pics as it comes along, but should end up close to this:-

Thanks, probably going to go for the black&tan look with a few OLE pieces mixed in, but it’s pretty clean in straight black.

Where'd you pick her up?
Little shop in the county near my office called Duffy’s, our Maryland way. Shame about the 10 round mags in this state but so be it. -
First blush on the new Blood Oath is a decided meh. Will give it another go this weekend, but really wasn’t impressed... was like a Smooth Ambler but softer on the palette and relatively unremarkable.
Probably my last BO purchase. -
Excellent. That bread looks good...where’d you get that goodness?
Baguette game from a local market in St. Michaels, MD (home of Christopher Walken in Wedding Crashers) as did the cotswald.
Little trick: After a couple days, when it goes stale, cut up the desired piece and slice in half. Then heavily wet your hands, rub it down then wrap in a paper towel and microwave for 20 seconds. From there you can toast it and it will be back to prime. Enjoy! -
Welp, the Galil was sold 30 minutes before I arrived today because my boss called an impromptu meeting, so my choice was already made. No regerts!
Appreciate all the info, fellas - Now, off to buy accessories...

Debating between a new IWI Galil in 7.62 for $1800 and a new FN Scar-17s in 308 @ $3200.
Anyone willing to do a pros/cons list on those two? I’ve never fired either and am just looking for a clean, simple end of days rifle. 7.62 is obviously cheaper from an ammo perspective, but I’m wondering what the best investment is in the opinion of the board.
The Scar seems a bit pricey, especially once you throw optics and mags into the equation, but I do love it so... -

Leftover steak means steak sandwich in this house. This iteration complete with fresh tapenade, grilled onions and cotswald cheese with Dijon and a helping of mayo.-

If a July date solidifies I’m in for the Shaggy cabana...

I’ve seen Cream of Kentucky ($150) and a Kentucky Owl Bourbon ($260) recently on Drizly. Are either worth half the price they’re asking?
(I realize no bourbon is worth over $100 in a sane world)
I have both and say keep your money. Or, go buy a case of Woodinville/1910 for the same price.-

Man, that’s a lot of raw onion. What up with all the raw onion?
It’s just for the aromatics - Mixed it with sage and just let the meat rest on top of it for 10 minutes. Bonus is, if you like to have them with your meal, they’re cooked by the time the meat is ready to slice.-

Flank steak tonight, with hericot verts and loaded potato with hatch/brown sugar bacon.-

Cognac - I’ll report back this weekend.

Today was OK - Interested to give the new Blood Oath a try... hoping to God it’s better than that rum cask abomination!

Simon is one of, if not my favorite artist to come into prominence in the last few years, and I’m glad Tales from the Loop is living up to the quality of his work.

Cross cut.... interesting.
Yeah, butchers in MD don’t exactly follow CenTex guidelines... worked out well all the same. -

Ok, this OFSB is outstanding.
Similar mouthfeel as the 1920 with a hint of caramel on the front. Honestly has a lot in common with the KAVALAN port finish, and for 1/4 the price of that bottle I am mighty pleased with this purchase. -
So this is happening tonight... will report back!

I will continue to drink my Statesman without issue thank you very much...

That said, today’s finds are better:
