  1. First person only servers is a cool idea  I was hoping GTA Online would do something similar when the next gen version came out.

    I wish I could try this but I'm a PS4/No PC pleb.

Yeah he really has a lot to hang his head about.  LOL

    45-34.  LOL

Comfortably missing Vegas’s win total of 52.5.  LOL

So besides all that spectacular underachieving... hold your head up high, Russy-Poo!

Finally ventured into a recreational weed shop in North Hollywood.  Absolutely mind-boggling that I can buy weed and edibles like I'm buying a sixer of beer.

Also mind boggling that I can a gram 5x the quality of the shitty Schwag I smoked in college for about 1/3 the price. My local place has a "Farmers Table" where I can get a gram for 7 bucks, and an eighth for $20.

Turns out I left out the best part. All of this show is right in my wheelhouse.

Same.  On a Bill Simmons podcast, Hader compared Barry (the character) to William Munny and Travis Bickle.  Travis Bickle in a violent dark comedy? Yeah, I'll watch that.

I tried for about a month a year or so ago but the bugs and omissions made it unplayable for crafting. Has it gotten any better?

I have no clue.  I  got it up and running about a year ago out of curiosity.  I beta tested SWG years ago ('02 or '03?) but never got into it. I At the time I didn't understand what kind of game it was, and was looking for a Star Wars version of Everquest or something.

  6. Been a big fan of El-P since Fantastic Damage.  And then became a fan of Killer Mike when I heard the album that El-P produced.  RTJ is awesome and it's been cool to an incredibly talented guy like El-P get the notoriety and widespread appreciation he deserves. El-P has been one of my favorite rappers/beatmakers/producers etc for 15+ years. I love his rapping, but the sounds he makes are just so fucking good.

  7. I appreciated the inside joke when you fix the antenna tower and Dutch says, “I know what you’re thinking, don’t worry, I’m not gonna make you climb every tower on Hope Island...”

I think one of the reasons I lost interest in FC4 was because I didn’t feel like climbing 25 towers again.

  8. What type of games are you looking for?

There are not a lot of games I can think of that allow you to play split screen co-op, online, against other players. Call of Duty games allow this. You're at a pretty big disadvantage in that type of game, though, playing on a split screen with reduced graphics.

  9. I played the shazbot out of Tribes. Must have been my first “big battles” online FPS. Loved it.  Funny, what I remember most is people trolling their own team by blowing up those stations in your base. Pretty sure I owned Tribes 2 but don’t remember getting into it as much. I’m gonna check this out.

  10. It was a fun movie.  I think what holds it back is the casting.  Rylance and Pegg as Halladay and Ogden were great, but I didn’t feel the same connection to the main characters.  Wasn’t feeling any chemistry between Wade and Samantha, even though I liked both actors. Aech was terrible. Felt like a Nickelodeon movie every time she said a line.  The Japanese guys were fine but sidelined.  Sorrento was too much of a buffoon. Dumbing him down made him kind of a mediocre villain.

Sitting at 64 on metacritic which feels about right.  Not a great movie but a fun ride.

  11. I like the update, despite the breathless whining going on over at Reddit. Warlocks got a desperately needed glide buff.  The weapon meta seems to have shaken up.  Precision Autos aren’t dominant anymore. More power ammo and players dropping ammo is an improvement. Although getting snowballed by a good team controlling power can get frustrating. Arcstaff is now a super to be feared.

It’s a step in the right direction, but it does nothing to address the lack of depth with loot, endgame, etc. Bungie has to nail the “exotics pass” and the “mods 2.0” and probably revamp the weapon system in some way to make it a game where I’d tell someone to come back and give it a second chance.

And to echo something Gabriel brought up, it’s disappointing that Bungie hasn’t come up with any creative new modes. Trials was a game changer in D1.  Where is that innovation?  Give us SOMETHING new.

  12. Best case scenario is that this game follows the Diablo 3 path of being gradually improved to “worthy successor” status by the time the fisrt major expansion comes out in the fall.

I have a like/hate relationship with Crucible.  I still enjoy it to a degree, I like certain guns, and I still play Trials when I can get a decent team. Part of it is probably because I’m pretty good at it after putting so much time in.  Also, my younger bro likes playing. He never played D1 and is blissfully unaware of Bungie’s fuckups.

Been looking forward to the update. The game drastically needs a sandbox shakeup. I hope the update accomplishes that.
