  1. I think the failings with DO were the result of Shaka using him incorrectly (as a focal, run through player) and allowing him free reign to be a fat tall shooting guard too often. Near of the end of the season when getting the ball to other players became a focus on offense (Hayes, Febres), DO's rebounding, defense, and selectivity on offense all improved. He proved he is no Nikola Jokic early last year and Shaka force fed that dream for way way too long.
  2. How's the motor and aggressiveness/attitude of Will Baker? I realize he's a kid and will need some strength and conditioning, but am wondering if he's got the fire and hustle to be a force on the boards and hold his own in the paint. What's his most likely area of value in year 1? I hope he shows more than Hepa did on defense and rebounding. I like Hepa. He obviously has some talent, but someone really needs to get him playing like a forward instead of a slow 2 guard. After Baker, will we have anyone else who can man the paint on defense behind Simms and Hamm?
  3. There were actually a couple times this game where we had some decent movement off the ball on offense. It's inexcusable it took 36 games to get the team playing with some semblance of having a plan other than just lazily launching contested 3's.
  4. put a dob of shaving cream (or another substance) in the concave area of the ear portion of his phone. Call him. Wait 2 days. Repeat process.
  5. They’re playing a 6 foot two guys at center in the zone and we’re not even trying to pass it in Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I attended games when weltlich coached in losing seasons much more crowded than this Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  9. Trap off one of the best three points shooters in the country ... cool... which one of our coaches scouts the other team? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Lazy on both ends Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. 18, 3 point shots... and 10 inside the 3 point line I’ve seen pimple faced nba2k basement dwellers with a better understanding of offense and matchups Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. So many of our disorganized, panicked, late shot clock 3 point heaves will now just be 2 pointers? I suspect we will still neglect working the ball inside... I will watch, but I have absolutely no reason to suspect Shaka to make any improvements to recurrent, glaring issues like Snoop dominating the dribble and trying to channel Steph Curry, Febres standing motionless in the corner and having not idea how to drive or free himself for a better look, overusing the 1 big - 4 guard defense and getting destroyed on the boards... If the attitude Ramey, Hamm and Hepa play with prevails, we might have a watchable game. If the Snoop, DO, and Febres melancholia and sapped motivation vibe prevails I may not make it to halftime.
  13. I actually tried to remain optimistic until we lost to a really bad Okie State team.
  14. Georgia, OSU, blowing the big lead to Baylor followed, home loses to VCU and Providence, and round 1 to TCU were all punches in the gut ... we shouldn't have lost the second game to the Sooners either. Most of our "quality losses" would have been wins with decent end game coaching and poise.
  15. actually I meant VCU, but they may be heading for the tournament as well.
  16. Shaka has the look, demeanor and overall vibe of a lame duck / kicked dog of late, which is never good for a program. It unfairly adds a shitload of pressure on the players when they start thinking their play will affect the livelihood of their coach. Whoever is coaching next year has some very good, young pieces in place and won't be "starting over" or "rebuilding" (unless there are a ton of defections), as evidenced by the team play without Roach and DO on the court of late. That said, it's not clear if Shaka returning with his current underclassmen and recruits intact is better than some new guy like Buzz coming in and having a lot of recruits and players bolt. Beard has shown that a good coach can get guys the big schools passed on to play winning high-level ball. If Shaka survives the season, I wonder if he maintains what's obviously not working well or tries to shake up his tone, strategic beliefs, and teaching methodology to save his job. I think my dream hire would be Mark Few or Brad Stevens. Billy Donovan would also be good, as he ran an exciting brand of ball with really good results at another football school, Florida. I don't see either of them leaving the NBA anytime soon. Jay Wright would be good. I think Kelvin Sampson is a good coach, but he is a scumbag reputation wise. A lot of the former up and comers like the Millers, Mack, Cronin are kind of struggling. I'm not sold on the Nevada coach yet. There's a pretty big gap between the top 5-8 current college coaches and the rest of the pack. I think we need a win against TCU and a win in the first round of the conference tournament (which is unlikely if Roach shows up suddenly and fucks up the recent chemistry guys have been trying to develop) to make the NCAA. Maybe we get another shot at Va Tech, Providence or Radford in the NIT... ugh. Rant over.
  17. He’s actually jumping for rebounds this game ... a big plus Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Time to put the lid on this turd bucket ... nobody on our team is shooting worth a shit and we don’t have a clue how to get anyone a fair look at a shot Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Gotta work off the Coleman drive... he has the hot hand and desire ... if they decide to shut that down maybe he can drop it off for some better shots to Ramey and the others Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Zero hustle on defense ...not a good look Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Tech won’t let Febres stand waiting for the ball... he’s going to have to work just to touch the ball and we don’t know what an off ball screen is . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Shaka ... keep running the offense rather than the stall ball Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Ramey has eclipsed Coleman noticeably and DO’s absence is a non factor ... just wish Hepa had even low bell curve level skill on defense and rebounding positioning Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. On a positive note the team is absolutely playing as a team without Roach trying to be Steph Curry and I am fine if he is done for his Texas career Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
