I've got a 3rd gear slippage issue on the '16 F150 5.0.  Keep wanting to take it in to the shop, but just no time.  Anyone else had that issue?

My 18 F150 had gears 3, 7 and 8 slipping last year, took it to Riata because no one else could fit me in, took them 6 weeks to get parts and ended up with a new transmission

    Warranty on his CP4?

The biggest thing is probably the pricing. The delta in new vs used on diesel trucks has been ignorant for the last 36 months.  10k off retail for your 12 month old truck with 90k miles? No thanks.

I was thinking more along the lines of a 17-18 with 90-120K on it.

  3. I didn't realize there was a chance of rain this evening. Now I see chance of severe storms. What's the likely hood?   I was planning on trying to grill and watch the game tonight on the back porch

  4. Is there any particular reason you wouldn't want to buy a newer well maintained f250-350 with higher mileage?
Or what are some things to look our for?

I ended up mowing twice with the reel mower. It was a lot of grass, but I gave it to the neighboring cows to recycle. Love the mower even though it's a little more work and I might actually be able to do a little striping. I was thinking of going lower, but I think I'll leave it here for a bit and see.

looking great. I would maybe take it down as low as you can to get the dead thatchy looking grass out, hit it with some of this https://www.lowes.com/pd/Lesco-LESCO-Dimension-Crabgrass-Preventer-30-0-5/5001213043, then let it grow up to where you want it

Have a well established TexTurf 10 hybrid bermuda and I've decided to go the reel mower route.  I have one on order and should be here in a couple of weeks or so.  Will that be too late to scalp it down?  I would like to keep it in the .75 to 1 inch height to thicken it up.  My yard is the not the most level (bad timing with really heavy downpours right before yard installed), so I'm hoping this will help alleviate the scalping that I would get from a rotary trying to go that low.

It will not be too late to scalp, but I would scalp and bag it now with your rotary mower. Then if you want to cut lower with the reel, it'll be less work.

If you your yard is unlevel and scalping spots with the rotary, then the reel will scalp it too.

This is my first spring in our house in NW Hills, Austin. I posted in November about my yard guy spreading some perennial ryegrass with fertilizer. It did add some green, and does not look like it's choking the st. augustine or anything.

I'm a total noob at this. What's the most important thing I should be doing right now? Some sort of fertilizer? We've been getting decent rain, but I might start running the sprinklers too. My st. augustine is just not very thick/green so I'd like to improve on that.

I would mow it pretty low and bag it to get rid of the rye and cut out all the dead grass.
Hit it with some fertilizer specific to St Aug, then water it in well.
After that, raise your mower back up to where ever you want it. St Aug likes to be tall so that helps.

I might be going against the grain of this thread, and it might not have been the best financial decision considering my rate, but I received the biggest paycheck in my life today, and the first thing I did was pay off my truck. Every non-mortgage debt I carry.

That said, I’m going to take care of some minor bodywork, including a tailgate dent inflicted by a crepe myrtle lining my mom’s driveway, as well as a new bumper. Also would love a state-of-the-art head unit with car play and maybe some better-quality speakers.

Seventy-two thousand miles and runs excellent.

Is there an upgraded shock absorber available that might improve its ride and handling? Tundras run like trucks.

Also I need a lockable gun mount, perhaps even one that fits in the console. To fit a Sig P320.

    Any suggestions?

The Bilstein 5100s are pretty nice and affordable

First, we need to build more hike and bike trails.

Studies show that ice accumulates less on natural surfaces. Hike and Bike trails also have less elevated areas. We, the city of Austin, encourage everyone to walk through the sleet and snow to get to where you are going for your safety and to reduce greenhouse gases and global warming.

Man, have you seen all those preachy a-holes on that OTHER truck thread?  Glad nobody's tried to force them over here.  One early mention of this thread, but nobody seemed to bite.  Thank goodness. :)

Anyway, I'm thinking about trading my F150 for an F750 or F850.  As long as it rides at about 10' tall and takes up 37 parking spaces.

    Who's with me????

It's one of craziest things I've read on this page
On another note Looks like F250s are coming down in price. May be time for an upgrade

    Wait, You tow your home?

You're going to be shocked to find out that you can have more than one vehicle.   In your case you need a Canyonero. 90+% do not.   I'm not even close to suggesting people shouldn't buy or drive what they want, but the vast vast majority of folks buy trucks as a lifestyle statement.  But you can't put a Yeti / Salt Life stickers on a Camry.

When I buy a truck, I keep them for 10+ years, use them sparingly to tow boats, haul stuff etc and that's about it.  I have fewer than 6k miles per year on my current truck.  My other cars are just better in every other way.

I'll get flamed for this but in the vast majority of DOMESTIC chores a minivan does everything a pickup truck will do but better.  I just don't want to own one.

Forgive me for not being more clear. I should've worded having a house differently.  I mean if times get hard though, I can live in my camper and therefor tow my home.

I've seen many a minivan at the Home Depot loaded to the ceiling with mulch and soil. Loaded down til it's resting on the bump stops.  I'll keep my F150

  14. I don't understand how this is even a topic
I have a home, a bbq pit and a camper I tow every now and then. I don't see how owning a camry fits in with my outdoor, home improvement lifestyle.

How much mulch can you fit in the trunk? What about the shitty roads I drive on to go fishing or hunting. Hell the shitty roads around Austin will fuck up a car's suspension as it is.
If you don't want to own a truck, then don't. Ride your bike or drive your prius or tesla for you 1% and don't worry about it.
