Herman moved guys around on his staff instead of firing them. He should never have brought Warehime, Mehringer, Meekins, etc. with him, but he couldn't help himself, because fuck you, he knew better. Then, clearly Warehime was overmatched at OLC and Mehringer was not only lost at WRC but also pissing off his own players and everyone else's. Instead of Herman getting his shit together and shitcanning those rubes, he just brought in Hand when the 10th assistant role became a thing and moved Warehime and Mehringer around, I think with Meekins.

For all of that, many of us here vilified the motherfucker, justifiably. And we were right.

Now we see Fisher doing the same thing, and he's being lauded as a wizard by the team's fans, including bizzle here, telling us that he's excited about the changes. I'm sure it's going to be awesome for the aggies.

i think what really brings your analogy home is the very similar resumes and reputations of derek warehime and drew mehringer as compared to darrell dickey and james coley. great point.

the problem here, as it has been for years, is dameyune craig, who jimbo cannot for whatever reason seem to part from, nor can craig leave, even as close as he was last year at various points. i think these moves reduce craig's on-field impact, are a neutral to the tight end room, immediately bolster the wide receiver room, and hopefully get craig one step closer to somewhere else.

There is one and only one reason Craig is on staff and coaching is not it.

well no shit. have you seen his position group the last few years?

also, while drunk in southern france earlier this summer, i was hit with a brilliant idea: a podcast whereupon spiderybanana and texpete break down high school film. i am in for $20 monthly on the patreon.

If Bama doesn’t sleep through that game, aggy is 7-5 with barely beating a shitty Colorado team.  They lose all of their D-line talent.  They don’t have a QB and Jimbo’s offense is from the stone ages.  They will lose 5 games again this year.

    hell yes, let's do this.

I'm guessing Corby and Danny making fun of his e-brake win and Bob just doubling down saying 2 minute "set-ups" to questions are ok and that he doesn't see a problem with what he did.  Except with the tone of a 4-year old.

i generally don't mind bob, but that entire segment was really petulant on his part. he may just be that tone deaf to his occasional obnoxiousness.

and george is going to be amazing as he gets loopier today.

Who did Tarp say are the starting DE's for aggy?

fadil diggs (wde) and tunmise adeleye (most likely strongside). tunmise looks like one of those guys that really worked his ass off over the break and came into camp in great shape. reports say diggs looks good, but there's not a whole lot of guys pushing him.

the more interesting thing to me is durkin appears to be putting a bit more speed on the field and will be less likely to play a 290 guy at 5 tech as compared to elko. macro wise i'm guessing we're going to trend towards being a bit more multiple with a higher pressure rate and give up a bit more against the run.

  6. i feel like r.e.m. fandom - more than most bands based on length of career and genre cul de sacs explored - highly depends on where in their catalog the listener entered. monster was my first real exposure to the band, and i fucking loved it as a middle schooler, and although it took me awhile to get into new adventures, i eventually thought it was incredible as well.

it took me probably a decade to revisit murmur and the rest of the catalog, which may as well be a different band on a lot of levels.

100% agree on new adventures, i've always randomly loved undertow (amazing mike mills harmonies as always) - and new test leper, realizing the shit he was probably going through at the time as a gay man in america hits harder the older i get.

Marquis Groves-Killebrew: Georgia was fine letting A&M take him because he tore his knee up in early November, and as of the time he flipped, he still hadn't had surgery for some reason. Not sure if he's had it yet or not. Either way, seems doubtful to ever be a contributor

putting it on the record this will be the best cb from this class starting in '23. his film is unreal. i know georgia is stacked here, but i remain surprised they didn't want to wait around on him.

To be fair, Perkins looks like a game changer in offense too.

i think he's actually better on offense than defense. dude is a freak at rb. athletic freak on defense, just not sure his position, don't think he ever gets much above 220.

as far as the bust potential, i would put a lot of money on walter nolan playing 3 years and being a top 10 pick. needs to get his body right, but too much talent. i would also bet a lot of money on evan stewart being the third most productive wr in this class and transferring out after a year or two. partially because of him, partially because i love the other two guys so much.

could also see bryce anderson not sticking as i'm not sure where he fits best - fear he could be a bit of a tweener, especially on the chance we land jacoby matthews. that kid is incredible.

Has Sanders ever been the one leading a S&C program? He’s been an assistant for somebody else everywhere he’s been right?

Not to mention he was on the FSU staff that had major issues with S&C at the end of Jimbo’s tenure there.

Schmidt is an asshole but he’s also good at his job. This seems like a major downgrade.

i've seen enough s&c guys at different programs through the years that i'm confident that i have no idea what i'm talking about when it comes to predicting success or failure there.

These are very weird hires by aggy this cycle.

Sanders (strength coach), Addazio (OL), Durkin (defensive coordinator).

With all the money they’re spending on recruits you would think they could do better than this.

from guys that historically know what they're talking about, they're excited about sanders. durkin seems odd, and feels we could have found someone with a similar ceiling without the noise that comes along with him.

addazio sucks ass and i will be super pissed if that's the hire. a couple of friends from bc echo everything ever said about that douchebag.
