Used to go there all the time for work. As stated, St. Elmo is the place to for a steakhouse, be sure to get the shrimp cocktail. The 1933 Lounge upstairs is a nice little spot as well. The Le Meridien right next store is a nice hotel if you can catch a good rate.

Went there last month with my wife and really enjoyed it - the food (I use salsa lizano on everything I can now), drinks, and especially the people, are great. We stayed at the Hotel Mangroove Papagayo and really enjoyed it. If you want to play the points game, it is a Marriott Autograph property and a steal at 35,000 points/night. Although not an all-inclusive place, they offered all-inclusive on food/drink for $120/pp/day which made everything really easy - basically spent the middle of every day eating ceviche and drinking by the pool and looking out at the bay.
That said, we got a driver/guide and took a 6a-7p day trip to Arunal (as suggested above) and it was our favorite day. Did the hanging bridges in the Mistico forest, which isn't overly adventurous or off-path, but we got what we wanted with the exception of a sloth sighting. All sorts of colorful poisonous frogs, a few vipers, birds, etc. We walked down to the La Fortuna waterfall, which was beautiful but it's a lot...a lot...of steps back up. I'm in my late 30s, ride the bike a few mornings a week for 10+ miles, and I was gassed. There were a ton of people down there that had me wondering how they would make it back up. After that we went to a place called EcoTermales Hot Springs, which is only a day location (no hotel) and it was great. I would repeat that whole day again in a heartbeat.
Considering the Papagayo/bay setup was less "beach-y" than I was expecting, and they pool was where I wanted to be, I would honestly look for a similar setup inland in, or close to, the rainforest ecosystem. The area close to Papagayo/Liberia Airport was more dry forest.

Looking for two GA for Friday now.

Anyone long a Friday pass? Really only need GA, but it’s for the wife so if there’s some place I can drop her off with wine and shade, I’m interested.

The shirt says draught horse pub. I only know of drought house. What was the one mentioned?
Same place. It was called the Draught Horse into the early 00s as best I recall.

Ah help! I haven’t travelled out of the country in over three years. I’m headed to Mexico on business in a week and I just realized my credit card (citi advantage MC) has huge foreign transaction fees.
I already have a chase freedom visa for personal use and I need the best business card. I don’t want to take advantage of the $450 annual fee cards because I don’t like to have to worry about tracking expenditures etc. I will do some international travel over the next few years but not a ton.
Also when I used to travel thru various countries I often couldn’t do transactions because I didn’t know what my credit card pin was. I don’t want to deal with that either. I think the new chip cards eliminate that need in Mexico Europe and elsewhere. What should I buy and is getting it in 7 days even possible? You may be able to call and expedite delivery in time (maybe). But for the card that fits your needs, I would say the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card is spot on. No foreign trans fees, $95 annual (unless they changed it), plus 50k Chase UR bonus points, which is a solid program.

Cracked a bottle of 2015 Deschutes Abyss Reserve last night (the BBA/WBA blend) as a precursor to a heart healthy meal. (28 day dry aged prime strips my dad brought in town, salt & vinegar crispy potatoes, and roasted radishes with lemon brown butter)
Damn tasty beer/evening and a great reminder that I need to work through my “cellar” (aka pantry) stock.

We pay $15/hr for two kids, 5 & 6. We supply dinner, they do activities, bath, bed. Anywhere from high school to college, depending on which of our regular rotation of 3 are available.

Definitely not Budweiser. But I have to admit, I keep two full shelves in my backup fridge stocked with various craft and another whole shelf in my pantry filled with aging bottles. But I always have at least a 12 pack of Coors Banquet in the fridge drawer too. Love that stuff.

Hate to say it, I don't know about bringing it to a knife fight, but I've seen someone get ripped up by one. They are amazingly efficient and brutal.
Yeah, not gonna let this just slip right by without a story.

Took my walk of shame about a month ago. I had broken up with Matt and his new girl kept wanting to fight me. I really tried avoiding her. I got up earlier so I could get to chow sooner I changed my route to class left campus on the weekends. I got cornered in the bathroom and her girls watched the door. I didnt throw the first punch but I swung back. Someone recorded it and we got busted. I did walk away with a medical records certification though

“All agree”. I’ll step aside after this, but >50% of the breweries listed rate below it on Untappd, which is basically beer Yelp and a haven for neckbeards that treat hazy IPAs like their new Magic The Gathering cards. I’m a big fan of drinking what you like, and I love me some Wooderson (and Fire Eagle, and Zoe, and Man O War, and Hi-C, and...).

Jesus Christ. I enjoyed every beer I had there and the guy was cool. It's worth a stop.
Greenspoint got an infected barrel aged bottle on 3/31. I reached out to Hi Sign’s founder, who is a friend of mine, on 4/2 and replied in this thread for him to reach out via email to give feedback and be made whole. Not sure if that ever happened, but guessing that’s the impetus for the opinion. Appears he’s in the minority, at least as far as this thread goes.
