  1. finally got decent insurance at my last job in austin and hit up the allergist. ended up goin to a guy named Ojas Patel in westlake area. young dude and extremely friendly, offered rush immunotherapy which expedites the typical ~6 month build up period to 2 days. took 75 shots in ass cheeks and arms over the course of 48 hours at their office, go home to sleep of course. it was a total haze of benadryl and other antihistamines, and my body was hived/swollen. after that i did 5 or 6 shots of full blast stuff once a month. that shit did the trick and then some, felt great and hardly had any issues while on them. then insurance flipped and I'm back to being effed again.

edited to add that i can't recommend Patel's office enough, they were great working with me on insurance billing/timing/coding along with shot scheduling etc. very good operation overall.

  2. Asking the counter at WF/CM to shuck em for me is jean-yus. Tried shucking a few dozen years ago and hands looked like I tried to bathe a wolverine.

Will second quality seafood, deckhand, and salt trader. Will also embarrass myself by saying I prefer smaller bite size oysters over the cow tongue sized varieties.

I was driving to dinner last night, my wife asked what Smith and Main meant on the navigation map.

once had a girlfriend thank me for explaining what the red/yellow/green shading meant on the roads on her navigation system.... past tense

  4. a hot shower... but not just any hot shower (all showers, except golden, are great), but the one in particular is the 5-6ish PM Saturday afternoon shower after a few hours of hard work outside sweating your ass off getting ready for a night out on the town knowing you're get some action at night's end. And yes, a shower beer is included in this. That's the good stuff.

New homeowner here. How does the Homestead exemption factor in this? Thought it capped appraisal increases at 10%.

not the first year after you purchase, that first year they get a 'free shot' at you.

  6. After taking a swim through hardcore history podcast on WW1 I just kept thinking how mind blowing some of his descriptions/excerpts he found would be if put on a big screen. The sheer carnage and bloodshed mixed with the paradigm shift in war machinery/strategy to the bare knuckle evilness of gas... gives me goosebumps thinking about it.
