Chester Kimbrough is visiting soon. Earl Barquett is an interesting Michael Williams type of DL

There are a bunch of other interesting prospects who haven't set up visits yet, so it's not clear how interested they are

    Sopsher is going to Bama

I believe Sopsher translates to "slug" in cajun.

I think Sopsher translates to "player" in cajun. as in...he and his brother are just playing around with A&M fans...

A kid named Branson Bragg from Crandall, Texas coached by Joe Dale Curry doesn't sound like a Stanford type. But I guess that's why you don't judge a book by its cover.

Bradley Dale Peveto is the LB coach at A&M.  Guys with Dale as middle names are like best buddies.

And Dale is buddies with Boomhauer...ie Jimbo.

Punch all that into the calculator...and you get Branson Bragg is maroon & white! howdy doody!

You say that now. Watching a team lose gets frustrating very quickly, especially when EVERYONE in the country will be poking fun at you every chance they get.

That said, I think you have the right attitude.

I think it'll also be about whether they're competitive or get thrashed.

But, no matter what, you're right-- there will be plenty of schadenfreude etc coming the way of Aggie fans... and instead of being patient and level-headed, there will be plenty who will lose their shit and therefore be made fun of even more... lol. such is life.

The way aggy, Stoops, Sweaterson, et al, bagged on Strong's losing seasons coming off of the waning lean years of Mack's recruiting is about to happen to Fisher.  Imagine if Fisher doesn't win 8 games?  What about only winning 6 games and sneaking into a shitty bowl?  After Sumlin consistently won 8 games?  It'll be a fascinating year for fans in the region.

I think most sane fans (I realize that may be an oxymoron) are bracing for tough season; but 6 wins and a bowl game should be basically no sweat, and 8 is probably the ceiling (ironically, that 8th win would probably make more headlines and talking heads chatter)

You hired a coach from A&M. Did you expect this to turn out differenct then every other coach who has ever coached at A&M?

Paul Bryant and Gene Stallings, for example?! :)

And come to think of it, for Sumlin getting so much heat for being a middling head coach, he managed to have several assistants move on up and be head coaches... some  aren't doing too terribly: Dana Holgorsen, for one. And coach Bro at Tech, for another.

Here are some updates for those interested. These are worth what you're paying for them and recruiting is fluid, so keep such in mind.

-Marcus Stripling was at the Houston UA camp this weekend or whenever it was and was getting repeatedly whipped by some C/G type out of Manvel. The Manvel guy is good enough to get a D-1 scholarship somewhere but he's not a major recruit or talent. It got so bad that Stripling literally quit during the workout, likely with a UA AA Game invite on the line. Took his cleats off and started watching practice in flip flops.

The couple of reps I saw of him going up against Kenyon Green at that camp, he seemed to have a burst and an inside move that Green was slow to react to. Green was getting some coaching on inside shoulder leverage from a coach in between the two reps. Not that I have any clue about any of this shit.

  7. The dynamic has imperceptibly shifted but hasn't changed; Longhorns will get plenty of top talent like they always do-- win, lose, or draw. I mean, even Strong pulled in good classes and didn't leave the cupboard bare for Herman, and he had losing seasons.

Even if Jimbo were to make A&M competitive and win games they're not supposed to, or stay competitive somehow-- even then, it's not like some guys growing up Horn fans are suddenly going to sign up for A&M.

This was similar to when Sumlin started. There were more head-to-heads against OU then, just like there are more and more of those now. If A&M can win more of those that would be a win-win for Longhorns too because they keeps talent away from a team you have to play every year...

Case in point-- Stripling seems to be liking OU as well. Last year, after seemingly forever A&M actually landed a top talent from California who was also heavily recruited by OU (again, a defensive end).

If Jimbo is truly promising starting positions to these high school kids and the current starters (Koda Martin) got wind of it, don't blame him at all for transferring.

Bold strategy Jimbo, how's that gonna work out for ya'?

i think Jimbo's strategy is to talk at 100 miles per hour to where the recruits are basically just nodding. As soon as he gets enough of the right sort of nods from them...that's the agreement.

it's Jimbo's version of the Jerry Seinfeld low talker, talking him into wearing the sailor puffy shirt on national tv.

Koda Martin was always starting before his heat stroke.

    First unit

    LT – Koda Martin
LG – Keaton Sutherland (4 Star) - highly rated
C – Erik McCoy (3 Star) - not highly rated
RG – Jared Hocker (3 Star) - Blumrick had a higher rating
RT – Carson Green  (3 Star) - Blumrick had a higher rating

    Second unit

RT – Kellen Diesch (4 Star) - very highly rated. looks like tarzan, plays like jane.
RG – Ryan McCollum (3 Star) - rated below the kicker
C – Colton Prater (3 Star) - rated a few tenths above the kicker
LG – Grayson Reed (4 Star) - decently rated
LT – Dan Moore  (3 Star) - Camron Horry was higher rated

    Before the stroke, Perroni stated

    Coming this Summer

OT - Colten Blanton (4 Star) - probably wanted to redshirt him, but he probably starts now.

OG - Tank Jenkins (4 Star) - the guy that was a package deal with James Foster. I guess he's okay.

OG - Luke Matthews (3 Star) - riding his name

OG - Barton Clement (3 Star) - likes food

    Other notables:

OT - Connor Lanfear (4 Star) - highly rated. Probably will start unless he's injured again...again.

In SEC, it just means Moore. Dan Moore. for LT.

Until Kenyon Green steps on campus, ready to be handed the starting position from Day 1. And the same for Javonne Shepherd. Of course.

Kinda like fucking a fat chick, show up for the ride but hope no one finds out and the last thing you want to be doing is bragging about it or announcing it to the world..............with the exception of our very own Vic

that would be true if this was an official visit and A&M was paying for him to come.

Looks like it was an unofficial visit, the kid paid his way to come a couple hundred miles west.

14 predictions all to LSU. Roller coaster clickitty clack...

anyone got what the roller coaster pusher-uppers (the Aggie 9.95ers) have to say about the visit?

there are new threads on it on 247.

it's a surprise just to even pull one of these top flight guys from Louisiana to visit College Station; more of them at least visit Austin. Fact is whoever LSU wants from that state will get them... but it's a happy surprise just to get a visit from a guy like that. may be that's why it was kept under wraps?

Starbucks does have some nice restrooms. I've shat in their restrooms (and changed my kids' diapers) more times than I've ever ordered coffee from Starbucks. Never been arrested or told to leave or told I couldn't use the restroom.

Probably not a coincidence that I'm not black.

I remember always stopping off at this one Starbucks just north of Woodlands off of I-45 on my way to/from Dallas and Houston. They didn't use to have a key for the bathroom at first. But in a few years, they did.

McD's and Starbucks probably pay extra to their employees to make sure the bathrooms are kept clean and nice...and they usually are. And more discerning customers seek them out...  just like George Costanza does in Seinfeld.

  13. This happened in Rittenhouse Square area of Center City; it's one of the poshest parts of town, but Center City as a whole has huge diversity-- the situation at this Starbucks would be like anybody walking down mid-town Manhattan and entering any of the Starbucks or other coffee shops there.

This situation escalated too much and didn't need to. But once the cops were called, they basically played by the book. The problem was, they shouldn't have been called in the first place.

Funny thing is, the Starbucks in the Center City Macy's was in the news locally a couple years ago for refusing to let cops access to its bathroom without first buying a drink... haha  The police union then made a big bruhaha about that episode, calling to attention how that Starbucks calls up the police a lot to help with removing the homeless that sometimes linger there.

So, at least the directly owned/operated (as opposed to franchisee operations) Starbucks locations in Philly do have a policy of no bathroom without first purchasing a drink.  The same is true for locations in Manhattan and in places like Hollywood-- tourist meccas that automatically get huge crowds at Starbucks. Often at those locations, the lines are long...for bathroom use as well as for buying coffee drinks...  Of course, having a policy, and having it applied differently are two different things. In this instance, race was likely a factor even if nobody wants to admit it.

Looking at his commitment thread all it is is a buncha' bitching about his ranking.

to that point: the offer list is long and includes the likes of UT, USC, ND, Bama-- places that use TEs and recruit top TEs. plus UGa, Penn St, Florida, LSU, Nebraska... I mean, that's a 4-star offer list.  to go with his height and weight which are same/similar to that of Austin Stogner and Grayson Boomer, commits to OU and oSu who are 4-stars.
