Aggy just won doubles point vs Gata...

Was not aware Aggy Tennis Coach (Steve Denton) is former Longhorn tennis player

Yep- check on TexAgs. Feelings for him have always been on and off due to his alum status. Some are convinced that he'd jump ship if he was ever offered the UT job.

  2. Just a preview of tomorrow's match-

Texas and NC State played last year with Texas winning 4-3 after losing the doubles point. NC State's doubles are really good and I won't be surprised if they won the doubles point. That said I still like most of Texas' matchups in singles. Anna and Fernanda should be playing the same opponents as last year (which they both won). Hopefully Peyton will continue her form from the last match. I also think Kylie will play better tomorrow compared to her last two matches (played against players with semi pushing styles) as her opponent's game is also that of a ball striker.

  3. What an interesting poll...Texas number one despite getting less first place votes than Washington. Some coaches must have punished UW for not sweeping all the races at the Pac 12s.

Shit, I don't know why I had it on my calendar as happening tomorrow (Sunday, 16 May) at 9:00a.  Yeah, doesn't matter...we won.

Maybe next year we'll go.  Congrats to the Horn Crew!

    You're right

"Originally scheduled to take place on Sunday, the regatta was moved up one day due to thunderstorms forecasted for that morning."

Excited to see how this team does at NCAAs. People on RowingIllustrated are basically saying it's going to be a UT vs. UW shootout (UT has also been closing the gap on the coaches poll this past month)

  5. Draw will be revealed tomorrow. Texas will be the second seed. Predict that Arkansas will be the second seed of the regional. Guess is based on Arkansas being around the right rank (top 30) and that the NCAA will have to split the SEC conference (11 or 12 bids) between the regionals evenly.

Wonder if the NCAA will go ahead and send A&M over to Baylor. Would be unfair since that wound a nationally top 10 match up in the second round. Either way whoever gets A&M in their regional is going to be pretty unhappy.

Rice and A&M Corpus Christi likely to be sent between Baylor and Texas.

SMU likely to be one of the first teams out.

What’s the gulf between us and #1? Do we have a legit title shot?

UNC's roster is packed, extremely. They have basically three super seniors and haven't lost a dual match since 2019.

Saw a tweet that summed up what they've done this past few years

The good news is that Texas lost a nail bitter to them earlier this year indoors. UNC also has not made an NCAA final yet with this illustrious class. I'd rate Texas as having a 20-30% chance of beating UNC. Things that have to happen are Peyton needs to get hot during NCAAs and Joffe has to decide between Labrana and Rapolu at 6.

Kansas def. KSU 4-3 today so they’ll be our opponent. Weather is supposed to be nasty tomorrow so matches tomorrow will probably be indoors. We’ll be fine either way against KU

Better for us fans if it goes indoors. Horns are scheduled to play on the outdoor courts that does not have Play Sight cameras
