Also for the players who have ran through this program, like Fawcett, Hooker, Eckerman, Eggleston....

No Texas player has won NPOY.

Feels like an Elliot coached player will never win it, because it's "expected" that our outside hitters, middle blockers, and right side hitters just dominate. It'll have to be a libero who also sets and hits .500 somehow.

Lol it's Faucette. Nicole Fawcett played at PSU. I get them confused too since they overlapped in college too

Isn't the entire roster returning next year?

This feels like the national title roster from a couple years ago. Talent and experience. Although, I'm not sure this roster has as much talent but I'm far from a tennis expert.

Hmmm...I wouldn't agree quite yet. Yuya and Christian were a great 1-2 punch that this team doesn't have. Would have to see a fully healthy Siem to better evaluate. Also the record at number 6 this year is not good. Too many 4-3 matches for my liking.

Did Lexi badmouth our program on the way out?

"Choosing poorly" would not seem to include making it to the national championship game in 2018.  Of course, living in Nebraska over Texas is the definition of choosing poorly.

I don't think there's been anything officially said or in social media from Lexi. Most of the glee from the Horns fans today are more in response to the Internet trolls and some Nebraska fans who repeatedly said things like "We just want Lexi to be happy" four years ago.

  4. Something interesting they're doing this year is that they announced 20 potential sites today for the NCAAs. Four will get cut.

    List is here:

What I find interesting is that this list must have been done with previous week's rankings as teams like LSU and Tennessee are on this list even though A&M is top 16 (was on the outside couple of weeks ago) and has wins over both LSU and Tennessee. This probably means A&M will get sent to Baylor as the second seed. UT and Baylor will probably split Rice and SMU (as long as they're rankings hold up).

We're getting the 3 seed. ITA rankings are the tiebreaker and both TCU and Baylor are ranked higher than us.

I think they're using next week's ITA rankings. If that's the case, Texas is at 2, Baylor is at 3, and TCU is at around 6. Texas would be the number 1 seed.

Sorry.  I know this is an annoying question for the true TX followers on here, but what happened with Sun?  I see that she was at TX as a frosh.

Again depends on who you talked to. One theory I heard was that her dad was unhappy about how many distractions there were in Austin.

So if TCU loses to Baylor and Texas beats Tech who wins the Big 12? TCU, Texas, and Baylor would all finish 3-1 with all 3 winning H2H matches.

Ideally, if TCU lost to Tech and Baylor I think Texas would win the Big 12 since they own H2H against Baylor. Correct?

I believe all three teams would be name regular season champs.

Here's the tiebreak procedure for seeding. If I'm not mistaken, the women's team had a four way tie for third several years ago and it went down to the last tiebreak determinate- using ITA ranking. Texas would hold the advantage against both teams if that were to happen.

Supposedly the first ever NCAA game where every out was a strikeout.

21K in a game happened two other times but they weren’t perfect games.

Single game K record is 28 in an 18-inning game and another in a 16-inning game.

Looks like this wasn't even the first time she threw 21 K's this season! Had one against Southeastern Louisiana but that one she allowed 5 hits and 2 runs.

Also noticed that Tuesday DerMargosian is leading the team in hitting percentage!

Another 7-0 sweep in the books. This one against KState. Still no Peyton Stearns, but hopefully she'll be back for Friday's match @Texas Tech

Yeah it seems like Peyton rolled her ankle (check her IG). Hopefully it's minor- from the KU video she seems to be walking fine

  10. Joffe was smart in scheduling Baylor multiple times this season. Three top 10 wins against the same team is huge in a limited traveling season for the computer rankings.

Baylor also did some smart scheduling. Played quite a few 20-30 teams. Have not played any top 15 teams this year and will likely win out the rest of the regular season to maintain a top 10 ranking

Have we always been this good at tennis?

Back when Jeff Moore was the tennis coach in the 90s and early 2000s, Texas was pretty much right up there. Six straight Big 12 titles, Two national champs, Two national runner ups, etc.

Patty Fendick Mccain would have a top 10 team every 4-5 years or so (fun fact her daughter is on the UTSA team Texas beat this year).....

  12. Won the doubles point against UCF. Pretty happy with how the team is playing with doubles this year. Should see no more mix and matching of the doubles lineups that we've been seeing the last 5 years in the middle of the season.

UCF next to Pepperdine is one of the best mid major teams in the nation. Excited to see what singles bring.
