Anyone have mock game notes from yesterday? All crickets?

After watching the Nebraska 2nd half meltdown yesterday by Casey "Fuckboy" Thompson I am feeling spectacularly optimistic about the season.

Damn it.  They still have to prove it to me but I can't help but me optimistic.    I love that Thompson is gone.   I am excited to see what Ewers can do.  Our OL and Defense can't be worse than last year, can it?

    Texas:  49

    ULM:  24

Bijan 169 yards and 3 TDs.

  2. I'm curious how many aTm freshmen, while going through the grueling and innovative practices at College Station, are starting to regret their bags and seeing the possible benefit of legit NIL deals.  I wonder what Nolan, Stewart, etc. would do if they had to do it all over again.  I also would love to know if their bag money was paid to lock them in so they will/can not portal.

They have to be looking at this cycle and thinking, "Did we fuck up?"

I admit I have downed the kool aid for years, but I think the talent on offense alone is worth 7 wins, if the defense improves, I see 8-9.🤞

Holy Shit!  Can the defense repeat last years performance or get worse?  I honestly don't think it can.

I just think it's funny that anyone thinks this team will win more than 7 games this season.

No prediction about the success or failure of this team, as a fan, is funny.  Predictions of 7 or less is discouraging and predictions of 9 or 10 wins seems like a pipe dream.  I'll go with Vegas and say 8.  Don't laugh at me.

Also also, I am still fascinated by the fact that these goobers still don’t grasp that NIL isn’t a corrupt bag game. They’re clinging to it being a conspiracy that will wind up getting busted up by the joint forces of the NCAA, the FBI, and fucking Chuck Norris.

This is what I don't understand either.  The thought that a player may chose one of the largest growing cities, with no professional sports team, to go where they may be showered with all manner of legitimate NIL deals just completely escapes them.  They just want their donors to up the bag game to compete and don't realize why that will not work.

This is simply inaccurate. There is a charge called DUI in Texas but it’s a no tolerance alcohol charge for minors operating a motor vehicle.

DWI in Texas is driving while intoxicated. Intoxication is defined as not having the normal use of mental OR physical faculties by introduction of drugs, alcohol, or any other substance…OR having a BAC of 0.08 or higher.

So you can be intox for dwi and under the bac limit. You can drink a quart of motor oil and drive and if that made you lose your normal mental or physical faculties then you are dwi. You can be drinking and blow under .08 but have smoked a ton of weed and lost normal use. Hell you can only have drank alcohol, blow under, and have lost normal use (technically).

I stand corrected and probably should not have gone into as much attempt at detail.  I was just trying to say that their could still be a charge and conviction even if he didn't blow or test above .08 if there were other substances involved.

    1. You don't typically get charged with a DWI if you "blew under the limit" I'm no lawyer but I think it goes to a DUI if you are under the limit.

    2. They seem worried he will miss extended time? I assume as he is a WR in the Jimbo offense that his blocking skills will be dearly missed?

    I don't do criminal work but -

I think the charge is probably DUI and not DWI despite the reports.  DUI is driving under the influence.  That can be alcohol, marijuana, pills, etc.  If he was impaired the charges will stick but it is going to be hard to prove he was impaired if he was under the legal limit unless he acted like an idiot on body cam or police station video.
