So roughly the same as the PAC is going to be without UCLA and USC.

Neither conference really has the strength to raid the other, nor a value proposition worth leaving for.

While this is directionally correct, the value of one killing the other ( I think the PAC will kill the B12) is it's less mouths to feed for ESPN/FOX

And exactly how are they going to maintain their athletic department with that strategy?  Most projections I saw on Big12 TV numbers without UT/OU were well south of $20M per school.

They're going to willingly go that path instead of calling the B1G?  I don't think there's much value left in the P12 outside of Oregon/Washington.

    Their athletic department?

I'm talking about killing the B12 by adding 6 teams

Some credible CFB media folks are saying they are hearing talk of the B1G and SEC going to 20 or 24 each. It makes the most sense. 2 super conferences who champions play each other for the national title.

    It's happening.

It depends on how value is judged. If it's TV markets and future contracts, adding Pac 12 teams to the Big 12 market is the better move. The reverse isn't the case for Big 12 schools going to the Pac 12. Adding the SF/San Jose, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, and Denver markets. They aren't bringing in better markets unless you want to claim TCU brings in the DFW market (it doesn't).

A merger makes sense for both if Washington and Oregon leave for the Big 10, which I bet happens. Phil Knight is not going to want to stay in a Pac 12 without Los Angeles.

I disagree. The B10 would be at 16 after this and don't seem them going to 18.

I didn't list TCU and I don't see the remaining P12 schools really looking at a merger with WVU, Houston, Cincy and UCF. The logical move would be to invite the schools I listed. Those schools would be much more apt to leave the bastardized B12 than the P12 looking to join the poors.

Depends on if UO and UW get the call or not. They already had worse viewership than the new B12 and taking away the top 4 makes that exponentially worse.

The 6 schools I listed going to the P12 makes more money than adding a few schools from the P12 to the bastardized B12.

If I'm a bigger name brand in the B12 I'd much rather be associated with the schools in the west than who the B12 added.

So this assumes Notre Dame becomes full time ACC?  I'm behind... would they willingly give up indy status in this world of 4 16 team conferences?

No choices anymore. They're in the conference for all intents and purposes already.
