Well baseball you make Brock purdy money for your first 4 years. Teams have gotten comfortable recently buying some of those years and arb years in exchange for long contracts but that’s not the norm, and minor leaguers make nothing relatively.

If Brock was a talented rookie star baseball player he would have signed a 100 million dollar contract already, exactly.   The rookie no change thing in the NFL seems a bit unfair to guys like him.  But his case is definitely not the norm either.

PGA guys have all of those things, and caddies. Do they go broke?

mlb used to have a rep for former players going broke.

Now that nba contracts are guaranteed, I think nfl has this issue the worst because of the short career length plus non-guaranteed contracts mean you could think you’ve got 10s of millions coming over the next few years and it all disappears for cap reasons.

I’d bet the 100-150 ranked guys have a hard time keeping up but do they go broke after making millions?  No because they don’t get 10 million plus contracts….    They have to earn it every week or just spend money on traveling, totally different lifestyles.  Now baseball being guaranteed over the NFL crazy rookie contracts you’re locked into like Brock Purdy is locked into is crazy to me.  Purdy could Joe Theisman in an accident tomorrow and never get paid what he should have.

he’s on a rookie contract.  the way these fucking idiots buy jewelry and cars it can quickly add up to a million dollars or more.  one nasty injury and his 5th-year option is declined and hopefully he has a good insurance policy.  and absolutely he’s broke shortly after.  he’s not getting 20MM, he’s getting less than 14 over four years which ends up being about 9.  if he gets the big 2nd contract, yeah, he’s probably fine.  lots of guys don’t.  and like you said, throw in the properties and the posse and he’s fucked without the 2nd contract.

if he’s a bust he ends up broke.  it’s not hard to end up broke if you played in the NFL.  as already stated, it happens often, and just because he’s good at football and was a longhorn doesn’t preclude him from being a dipshit.

no shit of course I’m fucking jealous of him.

He’s right you know….   I think we have enough examples, Ricky, Vince, Earl Thomas, it’s obviously not that hard for some to make bad choices.  Just save 30% of everything you make clean and clear for a rainy day and after you stop playing, stop the lifestyle would be great advice for everyone. Everyone makes fun of Gronk for being stupid but he has never spent a single full nfl check he got.  He never built a unsellable mansion and only bought reasonable houses while playing football.

He runs a 10.8 100 meter dash. He had 7 TDs in 6A as a freshman. He's been offered by a ton of schools.

I was 5’2 maybe 3, 120 pounds if that after I finished my freshman year and ran a 5.6 40 yard dash..   My senior year I was 6’2, 195 and ran a 4.6 something.  It’s crazy how these kids are progressing earlier now.  Granted I was definitely a very late bloomer, sophomore to junior year growth spurt was no joke.. So recruiting that young seems crazy to me. Many freshman studs were not starters by senior year because others had passed them and they stopped progressing but then again they didn’t run a 10.8’s as a freshman…

  5. I can tell a lot of people didn’t follow him on instagram in college. His favorite thing was to post pictures with his jewelry, money and cars at his local gas station gas pump with friends.

Stanford and Harvard do not offer any academic scholarships. Purely need based. Cool story, though!

I have no idea what it was or if it was financial aid type deal they offered but they definitely sent her stuff to where the mom said it would actually cost less than in state schools if she was paying full at one.  But great job being a dick.

And yet you can watch it on Amazon Prime right now.

This one was really good.  It’s crazy how they raise chickens these days, they harvest them at 48 days old now from like four months years ago.  They are so pumped full of steroids and shit that they don’t even have all their feathers yet when they harvest them but their breasts are huge..   The what is considered “free range” is crazy too.

It amazes me that they are outfitting soldiers with really old tanks and guns but many reports say their long range missile technology and jamming technology are way ahead of us.  I’d guess corruption and stealing of funds is much easier on the basic weapon level though.

The fact there are people out there who track this completely irrelevant shit is why they waste programming time adding it to the game.

It would be absolutely fantastic if there were zero stylistic differences between any players' uniforms but an RPO was animated correctly with offensive and defensive players making correct reads (or busting reads based on their awareness rating instead of pre-programmed silliness). But oh well.

I mean I’m pretty sure those are two totally different groups on the project that work on the aesthetics and the game play, one shouldn’t affect the other.

  10. Mendocino, Bodega Bay and Fort Bragg north of San Francisco along the coast are beautiful and relaxing to spend a day or two, nice restaurants and some cool air bnb’s.  I’d drive up to the redwoods after for a day atleast and then the wine country.  Knock your SF kick out in a day or two at most and then move on.

The urge to defend the Post Office so deeply is weird.

My step sister was a front desk person somewhere for years and five years ago applied to the Post Office and is now a postmaster.  She’s one of the dumbest people I know.  They pay dumb people way above what the private sector would.  There’s no way she would ever be in any form of management at UPS or even FedEx.
