  1. Another tip for the gas generators, look for ethanol free gasoline for use during the random, short term power loss. The ethanol free is harder to find and more expensive but better for the generator.  Bucee's often has ethanol free on some pumps. I think its the blue handle pumps.
But in an emergency, ethanol gas will do.
I also like gas generators that easily allow you to run them dry by with a fuel cutoff switch. My WEN has while my old Yamaha did not. This is supposed to help protect the engine or carb.

QT is also a great source for ethanol free gas. They have it at nearly every station. I’ve never seen ethanol free at bucee’s but hear some locations have it
  2. Got a message yesterday that they rescheduled it for Monday. Looking at the forecast, that should happen...assuming electricity is back on by then.

Got an email a little while ago that my 2nd dose appointment at FHS, which should have been M next week, will be pushed to Th-F-Sa of next week. Have not received any sort of confirmation or option to schedule otherwise.
  3. My appointment for today was rescheduled for Friday. Still at Kelly Reeves. Imagine it’ll still be cold AF since I heard they were giving the shots in tents outdoors.

Yeah I doubt that’s happening. I’m due for my 2nd shot next week and haven’t seen anything about an appointment.
Also all the supply shipments were on hold due to inclement weather.
  4. The ercot graph looks horrible for today with forecast demand way exceeding supply. But their demand forecasting has been way off for about 12-18 hours.
One morbid aspect is that ice related power failures are going to reduce demand.

Yeah stop watching the forecast lines. They’re meaningless. Capacity will be horizontal and demand will be kept below that.

  5. What is the verdict on vehicles - I've got a 2013 F150 sitting in the street and i'm curious if i should fire it up and run around the block, or wait for it to warm up on friday.  Anything to look out for?

Dead battery is probably the biggest concern if it’s old... otherwise cars can handle the cold.

  6. Latest (preliminary) medal count on Team Stream, Team Drip, Team Wrap?
I'm still riding fine with first option, water bill be damned.
Need to clear the finish line this evening at 5 above and should be good.

Switched from team wrap to team drip tonight. Hopefully don’t wake up with all frozen hose bibs and an inoperable bathroom sink again.

  7. Same here. After cutting the breakers I also opened up the lids to the pumps and cracked the relief valve on the filter. Not sure what else to do.

I’d be trying to drain the equipment above ground. At least, get as much water out of the pumps and filters as possible so there’s room for expansion when whatever is left freezes.
