Emergency conditions to end later this morning -
Putting a shut off valve in my attic that runs to my damn hose bibs. Have whole home foam with heated attic, got down to 0 and those were my only problems. Want to join team drain and forget. Team wrap failed twice, team stream failed when we lost water (well, they technically didn’t freeze).

Glad to see Subaru getting love in this thread. There is a reason they’re everywhere up north. I have an outback and f250 4x4 and the outback can’t be beat for driving in this mess.

Got a message yesterday that they rescheduled it for Monday. Looking at the forecast, that should happen...assuming electricity is back on by then.
Got an email a little while ago that my 2nd dose appointment at FHS, which should have been M next week, will be pushed to Th-F-Sa of next week. Have not received any sort of confirmation or option to schedule otherwise. -
ERCOT chart is interesting today. Grid has made a significant recovery with 65kMW capacity, demand peaking around 50kMW. Yet, market pricing is still maxed out at the $9k cap. Probably letting the producers recover their loses from the past few days.

My appointment for today was rescheduled for Friday. Still at Kelly Reeves. Imagine it’ll still be cold AF since I heard they were giving the shots in tents outdoors.
Yeah I doubt that’s happening. I’m due for my 2nd shot next week and haven’t seen anything about an appointment.
Also all the supply shipments were on hold due to inclement weather. -
Ercot says they're pushing 50k now. How high did they get yesterday?
Upper 40s -
You mean the underlying ice right at surface level? Because snow is melting right now. And I'm assuming will continue to melt until the sun goes down.
You guys have sun?? Nothing but grey, gloomy and 25 here in Georgetown.- 1

Switched back from team drip to team wrap. City lost water overnight and not even a drop this morning. I’m just praying all my exterior lines, which were on drip, emptied first.
-
The ercot graph looks horrible for today with forecast demand way exceeding supply. But their demand forecasting has been way off for about 12-18 hours.
One morbid aspect is that ice related power failures are going to reduce demand.
Yeah stop watching the forecast lines. They’re meaningless. Capacity will be horizontal and demand will be kept below that.- 1

And here comes the pouring freezing rain in 78633.
-
ERCOT capacity dropping again, guessing lost solar? As far as I can tell, no significant gains in production today. Insane. Going to be another long night folks.

What is the verdict on vehicles - I've got a 2013 F150 sitting in the street and i'm curious if i should fire it up and run around the block, or wait for it to warm up on friday. Anything to look out for?
Dead battery is probably the biggest concern if it’s old... otherwise cars can handle the cold.- 1

Looks like from the ercot graph something just came online.
Not seeing it on the ERCOT app, my capacity line basically looks horizontal since midnight -
That's good right? Unless I'm getting my supply and demand colors reversed.
The forecast lines don’t mean shit, they are for typical days. The supply isn’t going up until more plants go online. The demand line is being capped below capacity due to the blackouts. -
Zero degrees here last night in 78633. Unreal.
-
Grid capacity continues to drop. No bueno.

Latest (preliminary) medal count on Team Stream, Team Drip, Team Wrap?
I'm still riding fine with first option, water bill be damned.
Need to clear the finish line this evening at 5 above and should be good.
Switched from team wrap to team drip tonight. Hopefully don’t wake up with all frozen hose bibs and an inoperable bathroom sink again. -
-
It’s been down since 0500 this morning -
ERCOT map not looking good. Capacity continues to drop. Going to be a rough night folks
-
Tonight’s going to be terrible with no cloud cover. Buckle up.

Same here. After cutting the breakers I also opened up the lids to the pumps and cracked the relief valve on the filter. Not sure what else to do.
I’d be trying to drain the equipment above ground. At least, get as much water out of the pumps and filters as possible so there’s room for expansion when whatever is left freezes. -
So, can we all expect like $10k electric bills this month? Serious question.
What are y’all buying for the next grid failure?

QT is also a great source for ethanol free gas. They have it at nearly every station. I’ve never seen ethanol free at bucee’s but hear some locations have it
