I wonder if there is somewhere I can donate the extra eggs we get from our chickens? We always are giving them away to friends or family every week. We give to the food bank but actual food would be more efficient. Not sure they would take unwashed eggs.

Not sure.  They'd have to go to a kitchen or at least be pre-cooked, at least for a good chunk of those affected.

  2. You're a fucking lunatic, and apparently so is your wife.  We feed the hungry, full stop.  We don't adminster a purity test for them to qualify.  Take it OUT of the realm of religion:  "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free".  THAT'S America.  I'm not saying we don't fight, if you point a gun at me I'll pull my trigger, but that's a different thing entirely.

In short, you've been sniffing your own farts for so long on surly that you've gone completely around the bend.  Good luck with that.

    You'll get there.

These are brutal fucking times, and the shit that needs to happen is not good for anyone with a weak stomach.

We need an angry mob.  It's genuinely the Republic's only hope.  There's no better way to get there than having the people go hungry.  And have them not able to visit family.  And losing their jobs.  We're getting there.  Let the fever keep rising.

Your wife is allegedly a Presbyterian minister.  Pardon me if I presume she doesn't agree with your barbaric perspective.

  4. My son gave me a rice cooker when I started having to make custom food for our aging dog (RIP, Gumbo).  I admit, I was skeptical, and it doesn't make BETTER rice that a pot on the stove, but it's super easy to use and really consistent.

Exactly this. God, it was so hilarious for about 3.5 years. Then, we all started to realize that there was a decent chance that we were going to reelect these clowns.

I try to think of these things in terms of management (a role I tend to despise).  If someone who reported to me had fucked up at the Four Seasons level they would be fired by phone before they got back to the office.  In this administration?  Just another day.

If they did, they would lose access, the lifeblood of the White House press corps.

Would it matter?  The "access" they have now is worthless.

  7. We still go there.  Quality fluctuates a bit but it's never been even close to average, and what restaurant doesn't have some variablity?

I don't get the "pricey" argument, either.  Yeah, it's not a mom 'n pop TexMex joint.  It's a beautiful restaurant in a part of town that doesn't have many of those, and for $25-$35 an entree you can get all kinds of delicous food.  I think every Austinite should go there once and judge for themselves.

In case you were unaware, most cast iron anything is cast in sand.  Engine blocks, skillets, you name it.

I was shocked to learn in the 80s that it remains, to this day, one of the dominant methods of casting iron and other alloys.

And there's a lot of science or technique that goes into it.  What kind of sand you use, how often you change it, whether and for how long you tamp the mold before casting to compact the sand, and so on, that provide opportunities for cost-cutting and enshittification.

In my prior life I co-developed, designed and manufactured large energy storage M/G/FW devices.  The housings were cast iron, many inches thick.  It took a lot of trial and error to dial in the tolerancing, draft angles, chimney locations etc.  Those cast iron shops have so much experience, we never could have come up with those processes on our own.  Here's a photo of one device with half the housing in place:

I think the concern is sark pulling a sark. If he runs basically his version of a  spread style offense we might have a good shot - I mean we still have to execute and make people miss in one on ones - but we do that odds of beating UGA goes up tremendously. Pull that slow developing shit and  UGA may knock arch out of the game.

Why are you suddenly discussing game play?
