  1. You guys bring your big dogs on your boats? I have a 85# chocolate lab (named Major) who loved to come out with us on the old pontoon. I'm not sure he'll ever be scoring an invite onto the wake surf though. He has feet the size of dinner plates and I worry he'd scratch up the GatorStep or vinyl. I feel bad that the poor guy was stuck in the house all day yesterday though.
  2. Your short distance and your ramp not being too steep weigh in your favor. Travis ramps are generally steeper than Austin’s. But you have a lot working against you. Find out what your weight on trailer is and then add more for gas in the tank, water that didn’t drain from your ballasts fully, wet life jackets, tubes, ropes, dock lines, bumpers, coolers, anchors, tools, spare parts, etc. For reference, mine is 6950# factory “weight on trailer” before adding all the aforementioned variables for a 23’7” boat. I’d put rubber floor mats in the 4Runner just to be safe. [emoji90] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Good luck finding a vehicle that can tow 5000k AND has a built-in vacuum cleaner! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Pretty cool-looking competitor to Jeep Wrangler, but can it tow for shit?
  5. Man, I love the big ass grills of the late model Lexi and BMW. But that Hitler pic is going to be hard to shake. I already feel Jewish guilt for driving BMW, but that just kicked it up a notch.
  6. My plan before I lucked out with a slip at a marina was to tow my Ri237 with an X7. It's has AWD and a 7500# towing capacity with a factory-installed hitch, but the prospect was still quite scary, especially since I've been watching Qualified Captain and other similar video series.
  7. If you want a boat in that price range, check out Supreme. Lake Austin is one opposing wake after another. You want a hull designed to handle that, and Mastercraft ain’t it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Sold. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. If you didn't go, how do you know? I actually really enjoyed the UTEP game atmosphere. It was easy in/easy out. No garage traffic. No people crowing into my seats. No beer line. No bathroom line. Now granted, I'll gladly put up with all that stuff for a sellout crowd and a great game against a ranked opponent, but UTEP is never going to be that game regardless of Covid. I agree, TX/OU is a very different animal this year. Thus my tickets being on sale. That and I only got two, instead of the usual four. But if you want to be there in person to see Texas finally put one on the Sooners again, tickets won't be easy to come by.
  10. I offset my two measly axles with a slip at a marina.
  11. SOLD
  12. Happy shopping, asshole. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Section 117, Row 11. Two seats together. $360 each. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. 4 tickets together for Texas v. TCU, Section 8, Row 63. Designated entry through Gate 7. $160 per ticket. Purple parking pass free with purchase. I will transfer tickets electronically, parking pass available for pick up in Westlake or near my office at 2222/Mopac. I can make the electronic ticket transfer right in front of you when I give you the parking pass. Pic shows view from seats. This is lower level just under the upper deck overhang, so you are in the shade and if it rains, you stay dry. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Came super close to putting in a order for the Ri245, but Ski Dock was high on the price and while I was deciding what to do about it I stumbled across the deal on that Ri237. They wanted $180k for an Ri245 w/ a sticker of $210k. I found people getting boats with higher stickers for >$10k less than that. Even had a SANTE friend get me an offer a new G25 for $170k. Ski Dock's only explanation for their price discrepancy with their competitors out of state is that Austin is a hot market. I don't know why that should matter when you can haul a boat from anywhere in the country at just $1.25/mi. Anyways, I feel like I was being super thrifty with what I ended up buying, like when your wife comes home and tells you about how much money she saved on discounts.
  16. Boat market is HOT. I listed my pontoon on Tuesday and sold it yesterday, less than 24 hours later. Wasted $150 listing it on Boat Trader since my buyer found me on Craigslist and lives just a few miles away. It's the covered gray thing in the background of the pic above.

  18. Exactly. My in-laws lived on a small private east Texas lake during the last major drought and everyone was out there with their chainsaws clearing stumps. When it filled back up, it was a much safer lake.
  19. That’s what I was guessing. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  21. What’s it like on the Perd these days? I have some friends looking at getting a Vrbo there in a few weeks, and I’m wondering if it’s safe to take my brand new boat back there. Seems sketchy but I’ve never been in that water. The house is near Highway 71. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I figure it will be easy. I've wake boarded a little, knee boarded a lot, skied, etc. I love to snowboard. Kids have just about out grown the ski trainer. They'll mostly be interested in tubing for now, but I'm ready to start pushing them to surf soon. 5yo boy and 7 yo girl. The girl appears to have gotten all the height and athleticism, at least so far. It's a cruel, cruel world.
  23. On Lake Austin, 150’ from the shoreline means you’re running 2” from the opposite shoreline. Only a slight exaggeration. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
