LPVO you can find quite a few decent entry level models from Sig, Vortex and Primary Arms. Sig and vortex are always on a mount combo sale on PSA, primary arms will occasionally run combo sales on theirs.

I have a 1-8 strike eagle, I find that the 1-6 model is much better. Even on mine at 6 and lower it’s great but at 8x magnification the eye relief is very meh.

And don’t get near me ever with that brake on the end! My ears are ringing just looking at it

Thanks for the recommendation. I wasn't too familiar with the LPVO until now. I'm starting on the low-medium end to begin with. I'll post when I get one mounted.

  2. Got my SFAR but declined in the optics he had on it. Anyone have recommendations on a good red dot in the $200 price range? I dont need anything too fancy just something that points where i want to hit. I saw a remanufactured Sig Romeo 4 on their website fir $190 but kept looking at others. When I went back it was gone

  3. Heart calcium CT scan results are in and I scored a zero, which was very close to my 2nd semester GPA years ago. No statins needed and good for a few years!

Well hell, I was hoping I would never post in this thread again but.......

Nearly 3 weeks ago I went out to turn on the pool pumps in the morning. Our pool sits on a small hill next to the house. Took about 2-3 steps down the hill and hit a still frosty patch of grass. My smooth soled boots slid out from under me and I threw out my right arm to break my fall. Big mistake. Wound up landing mostly on my right elbow. By the end of the day I knew I had more than "just a little soreness". My guess, rotator cuff...again. if so this will be the third time on that shoulder. That on top of very sore ribs and sternum.

Man, I feel for you. I just about bit the PA's head off when he told me I had to have rotator cuff surgery last August. If it helps, I will say this has been the easiest recovery I ever had. No pain pills since after 12 hours past surgery, just Tylenol. The therapy isn't even that bad now.        T&P's man.

Yea that is too big to be up high.  However, Falltech and DBI-SALA do make custom ones (and Im sure of others, I just know reps from these companies) make ones for larger humans.  But get your ass ready to pay.  They are triple + a normal (I think) 250 pound and under rig.

OHSA and ANSI have different standards, 310 lbs for ANSI and 420 lbs for OSHA. Most of the people go strictly by ANSI but all manufacturers will put the OSHA 420 lbs rating as a way to get heavier people in harnesses. We sell 4x & 5X harnesses, but when a heavier person falls, they're pushing the allowable limits for fall arrest. When they hit the end they will do serious damage to their internal organs. I have seen pics of people who have almost castrated themselves because of falls.

Fun fact: We sold two in history, one in plaquemine parish LA, and the other in Tulsa.  12XL Coverall.  96" chest, 90" waist, and 48" leg openings.

A few years ago I got a call from a oilfield guy working on the monkey board, about 100 or so feet off the ground. He said he needed a 5XL fall protection harness. I told him I had a 3XL. He said he needed a big waist belt and I told him it had at least a 65" belt. He wasn't sure if it would fit but he'd try it. The guy came in our store and he was 5"8 and weighed between 350-400 lbs. The belt was about 18" too short to fit around his waist. I told him if he was smart, he'd find a job on the ground because even if the harness or lanyard didn't break the shock of hitting the end of the lanyard after a 6' fall would kill him.

What was score ? I got a 142 last year and decided to get my eating habits together. Hope all went well.

I don't know yet. They said the results should be ready today but my doctor is closed. I probably won't know until next week.

This game is perfect for aggy. Kept it close enough to feel good for next year and talking about the what if’s all off season. Rinse repeat next year. This sums up aggy in a nutshell, “we only lose by 8”, “if we had everyone and they didn’t portal we would have won by _____” “wait till next year when elko turns this team into a BYGAWD SEC powerhouse”.

Did they give out a moral victory trophy? Because the aggy's were obviously the better team.

  9. I had a heart/calcium CT scan today. I had to request it from my doctor but he had no problem ordering it. The best part is that insurance is covering it. He suggested I start statins,  but I wanted to make sure I needed to take them first and he agreed.

It was light and felt good to handle.  Has good reviews. I just bought one.  Price in link Armbrat posted was best deal I could find.

I've got one lined up with a private seller. Already set up with a scope and no shipping, tax or transfer fees. And no paperwork. There are still a couple of private gun trading groups left that started after FB banned firearm sales. I went on one the other day and the 1st item listed was a SFAR for a fair price.

My bad.  I thought you were asking budget on pistol.

For the AR, up to $2k without optics.  I would prefer to be in $1500 range.

I held the Ruger SFAR last night.  It was pretty awesome feeling.  I may just go with that.  Thanks so much for all the info.

I think I'm about to pick up a SFAR tomorrow, but I haven't even seen one yet. I just like the concept. What did you like about it?

Christmas eve I was on a local gun trading group and lo and behold someone had one for sale with a scope already mounted. No transfer fee, shipping or taxes. I hope I can pick it up Thursday. It's like Santa wanted me to have it.

I had that once after a minimally invasive procedure for enlarged prostrate. Creepy as fuck. That was a possible expected side effect and only happened once.

Isn't there a sex fetish that involves putting sticks down your dick? <hang on, google google google>      Ah, yes, the answer to your problem is you should stop Sounding.

Yeah, I had the same thing happen after a biopsy and it is very creepy. But it's never happened on it's own. I guess I need to tell my wife we need to bang a few more times to see if occurs again. Doctors orders of course.

Not looking for anything “tactical”. Need simplicity. And bolt action

I understand. I just like it because it's light weight and the size of an AR-15. It's accurate to 500 or so yards (or so I've read) and has .308 knockdown power.

  17. I hit enter to soon and then couldn't edit. So to finish my post.....

Ok, I'm asking this because I'm old and it happened. If you don't know what this condition is I suggest you don't look it up because it was unnerving, though I might have a future in vampire porn. But if you experienced it you know what it is. Has anyone ever experienced hematospermia? I looked it up on the internet and there could be 100 things that caused it but it's so unnerving I'm having trouble forgetting it. And I can't get into my regular doctor until after the New Year. I'm just hoping someone can say "yeah it happened to me and I got over it. No big deal".
