2023 should be better, and 2024 even better, but expect a lot of fucking growing pains this year. There'll be some amazing shit that gives you hope, but our peak is winning a shitty bowl game.

I respect you for trying to keep expectations reasonable. So many people act like any deviation from perfection is a travesty. I'll take regular old "good" at this point.

Expect growing pains from our quarterbacks but ALSO expect the rest of the team to rally around them and take some of the burden off them. Especially Worthy and Bijan. This team knows (better than us) that their quarterbacks are going to need some help to get us into the win column.

Really? Hungry DL's, flashing LBs and 4 star DBs. Your description confirms they are unaccomplished and ain't done shit. I mean honestly there is not a player on defense who has ever performed consistently  on the college level. Have you watched Texas football for the past decade? User name checkouts

It sounds like you're used to the NFL. Established players are kinda rare in CFB. Players are unknown commodities until they're not. All we have to go on is potential.

    Bijan wasn’t rested.

OB practice notes said: "The biggest offensive play of the day came from Bijan Robinson, who had a long 50+ yard touchdown run and then didn't see much action, if any, beyond that."

That sounds like resting to me.

Actually it’s stupid as fuck to think we have any shot at having a shut down defense this year.

Not sure why. We have the talent. We have 15 four-star DBs, some hungry DLs, and flashing LBs.

Lol wut. These kind of takes will go better for you on TexAgs.

It's stupid as fuck how we've been only wanting our offense to dominate. We rested Bijan and (I'm sure) Worthy so there's less reason to worry about that side of the ball.

  6. I'm less worried about RB. We're relatively deep there. I'm more concerned with Neyor. Hope he's alright. Expecting a big year from him. Sounds like it might be okay? Probably gonna rest him until the start of the season.

I don't think we can dismiss what we're hearing about the QB competition. It sounds like no QB pulled away. I wonder if this competition could stretch another week or (god help us) into the season. I just hope we have it sorted out by the Alabama game.

The defense winning the day doesn't concern me as much. We need them to be the stronger unit. A shut-down defense will give the offense extra opportunities. It's been a while since we had a ball-hawking defense flying around making plays.

I knew hall wasn’t lazy. Lazy people don’t get boots off their wheel. That’s a high effort endeavor accomplished by a hard working man.

Seriously. That man has real commitment when he sets his mind to something.

People on other sites are acting like the kid is a murderer. He took off a damn boot. Something most people on here have wanted to do. It’s a zero bail offense. He will pay for the boot and get a parking pass and this will be forgiven. FCB couldn’t wait to post the info and swear that it proves he was right to release that report last week.

Does this tool think he's going to earn himself fans being a moralist and running off our players? He's gotta be one of the dumbest SOBs ever. FCB.

Suspend the kid for half of the first game and that's it.

I gotta say... I am a huge fan of this strategy of recruiting a whole o-line in the same class and letting them play together and develop chemistry as a unit, on and off the field, pitting them against the existing o-line. It could backfire, I guess, if the existing o-line is replaced en masse. But it's more likely that some of the freshmen will get pulled up, rather than all of them. But that chemistry should endure.

Milton continues to be someone mentioned as exceeding expectations this fall working with the twos behind Jordan Whittington.

I don't know why anyone would be surprised by his performance. Milton had 722 yards on 35 receptions (a 20.6 yard average) in 2019. He's been a performer at the FBS level. Stupid OB.

Hell yeah. Head coaching 101. Castigate players that talk to the media too openly (moro ojomo). Alienate the media and fans. Then underperform and don't take any responsibility in post game pressers. Sark has got this guys

Half of these (the bits in bold) are actually good strategies. I know I'm on this site but I actually don't mind if the coaching staff cracks down, limits information, and takes better control of the team's public image. It could actually do some good considering media meddling and shit-stirring has been one of the main problems for this program over the past decade. Fuck the media, fuck the players who talk shit on the sly, and honestly fuck the fans who create distractions for the players, too. Making it a situation of The Team vs. Everyone could possibly work.

I wonder if this is why media was canceled. I am sure the coaches didnt like someone filming practice and then saying “WhOsE BeTtER?!!”

No, in all likelihood, it was in response to FCB (or whoever) badmouthing Hall and Billingsley's character. Revoke their access permanently. They don't belong in there.

  13. Ewers looks calm, composed. Card looks a little stiff, nervous, frantic, rushed.

I mean, Card has actually played in college games, behind a bad offensive line, so maybe that's why he's playing like that, but I don't think it leads to good decision-making.

Texas canceled the open media window and the press time after practice at the very last minute. I’m hoping this is because somebody finally got upset about the BS articles and questions the texas beat reporters have been asking

Seriously. Fuck these blood-sucking leaches (Ketch, FCB, Bohls, and Brian Davis). I'd rather get no observations from them than have to deal with the fallout from them stirring up fabricated drama.

I'm a masochist, so I re-watched every snap Hudson Card took last season... My big takeaway: Quinn better be prepared for bullshit dirty hits like 7:10 (Arkansas), 19:19 (WVU), and 22:40 (WVU). And I won't be convinced that Sark has changed the culture at Texas until I see our OL beat the shit out of the next defender who comes in late...

Holy shit, this was frustrating to watch.

Nice catch. Unfortunately, it is being reported that Jordan Whittington re-injured his ACL on this play and had to be carted off the field.

Troy Omeire, who is being held out of workouts as a precautionary measure, was also injured and had to be carted off, well.

    Actual pic of Whittington's ligaments.

You think anyone close enough to the organization and staff to watch practice is going to tell the truth to these bumblefucks? They're going to say what the staff wants them to say. It's all a symbiotic set up. Always has been. The coaches get out their propaganda and these con men get to make a living off naive idiots.

If you goobers want to jerk off to propaganda go right ahead but for fuck's sake don't talk about it like it's fact.

    Hugely underrated comment.

You pick the guy who earns it. There, so far is a consensus that Card is outperforming Ewers. Having said that, I do believe, in the end, Ewers will pass Card and pull away. He has to earn it. Everyone has to see that he earned it.

My point is that our coaches and 9.95 writers have been shitty at recognizing when someone is the better player and deserves to start. Better players have sat longer than they should have. Thompson, Bijan, Wiley, etc. It's not always cut and dried. A player may be a play-maker in the comfy confines of practice but have terrible nerves in game environments. Coaches have to be able to evaluate personalities in addition to athleticism.

This old "he has to earn it" mentality is dogmatic and masturbatory. If a coach picks a guy (regardless of the circumstances) and he proves it on game day, no one is going to second-guess him.
