We beat the #3, undefeated team by two scores and the CFP committee moved us up 2 spots (plus 1 spot when Michigan lost and dropped below us). Meanwhile, Bama escapes against a 1-SEC-win team at the end of the season, and gets rewarded by moving up a spot. The committee can go fuck themselves and I still think we should cancel the OSU/Michigan/ND games, because 3 losses are all that matter. I give zero fucks that OSU owes us a game in our building....just get an easy win against some perennial loser, with a lower chance of injuries. They're not punishing other teams for weak-ass schedules, bad losses, or close wins to bad opponents. They're not giving us a pass for two of our losses being to the #1 and #3 teams on the road or rewarding us for 3 top 15 wins, so just burn it all down and stack the wins.

So we should cancel those games so that we can be a legit 3-loss team that only has 2 losses? Fuck that.

We should be all the people we bitch about?

this is going to be one of those seasons like 2008 we talk about for 20 fucking years

imo at this point SEC power rankings (just my dumb ass opinion)

    1. Georgia

    2. Texas

    3. OU

    4. A&M

    5. Ole Miss (they just lost their head coach)

This isn’t anything remotely close to 2008. We were the best team in college football that year….

Each conference needs to evaluate their CCG and make it a conference play in game.

If that happens to be your championship game, great…. Looking at you G5.

But what about ACC? Do they have Virginia play Miami for their play in? Or do they rest Virginia as the champion and allow Miami to play Gtech or something to boost resume? Somewhat of a river boat gambling situation. Oh the intrigue!

What I imagine a conference could do was give the highest finishing team in the conference the option play in the game. They can pass and then the option goes down the line. Another intrigue as what if a team that will assuredly make the playoffs chooses the extra game to improve their seed which fucks over someone who COULD have played for a chance?! More fuckery! More intrigue!

It would be pretty cool to get to whoop that smug ass Pavia again for an SEC play in game. If we adopted something like the play in game

For P4 This week would likely be something like:

ACC: Virginia vs. Miami or Miami Vs Georgia Tech (Eh to very eh but better than Smart kids vs the rich smart kids bowl)

Big12: BYU vs Utah (Morman Massacre 2, electric boogaloo)

Big 10: Michigan vs. USC (rose bowl light)

SEC: Texas vs Vandy (Manning v. the fight in’ Stacy’s mom has got it going on)

    Now that’s some fucking juice.

One of the arguments for the guaranteed 4 slots for the B10 and SEC in the CFP was that the top 2 teams would be in the playoff automatically and on what used to be CCG weekend they’d have a day/night twin bill between 3/6 and 4/5 to decide the other two slots…

But the music isnt the reason for the rowdy crowd as we see at the OU game and other games. We also have a sauced crowd and students finally in one section close to the field that watches a team thats good.

The music needs to be 7-9 depending on the situation. Whens it’s 11, it sucks the oxygen out of the stadium when it’s not blaring. It’s a crutch.

Hah I remember being in Lincoln in 1998 and hearing Intergalactic over the speakers and thinking ‘man what kind of bush league shit is this instead of the band playing’

I’d kill to hear the B-Boys now at a Horns game….

I doubt Connor Robertson goes pro.  He wasn't awful when inserted into the lineup, but he wasn't great either.  He's definitely not getting drafted and I can't imagine any team looking at his tape and saying, "Yeah, get this kid on the practice squad."  Unless he has a desperate need to sell insurance next year, I think he comes back.

I have no idea what's going on with Neto but it seems like something more than he doesn't look good in practice.  We were practically pulling people out of the stands to try them at left guard when it became obvious Stroh wasn't cutting it, but Neto still barely got snaps.  He's in someone's doghouse.

Yeah, Stroh needs to get processed like a McDonald's nugget.

I think the plan is to go into the portal and get the best 3-4 interior linemen available.  Hold open competitions in the spring and find your starting guards there.  And hey, let's give everyone some looks at center as well because it's not like Robertson was lighting it up.

I think Goosby is the most important piece to bring back for next season.  If Goosby stays, that means all of our glaring portal needs are relatively cheap and generally available (interior OL, RB, secondary).  But finding a quality starter at LT in the portal is not cheap or easy.

On some other thread there was speculation that Robertson might grad transfer to a school with a strong program in whatever his academic field is…

  6. Yeah the atmosphere in the stadium (especially the student section) is a huge improvement. The music ain’t my cup of tea but if it results in a rowdy crowd I’m all for it. The tailgate scene dying off is sad, though being in a growing campus in a growing city, that real estate always had a limited shelf life, looking back on it.

Long live the 5AM queue-up along Red River for the Pink lot!

Yep. Who was it that played fucking Charlotte the other day? Charlotte? Never heard of it even as a school, much less one that has football. What is that ... Charlotte CC? Seriously. I have no fucking idea.

Wow it’s really unfortunate that a pussy ass team that scheduled Charlotte never had to face us on the field….

I recently went to a Duke basketball game. It was a pure college sports experience. There wasn't a cacophony of promos, giveaways, sponsorships, shitty popular songs, etc. It was all about the students, the game, the school, the traditions, etc.

So I guess someone should inform them that they need to lower their experience to a cheap, generic, gimmicky shlock of marketing crap to attract the kids.

Was the same thing in Ann Arbor last year. No ads, no bullshit. Blueblood acting like a blueblood…
