Was wondering if I was the only one that remembered him on there.
Hah that’s what I came to post about as soon as I saw the thread…

So based on the above CTJ/Sydney’s day/time must be 20 minutes ago….

I heard on the radio that once the Texans restructured his deal, they forfeited their right to a compensatory pick if he walks in FA. I have no idea which one is right, that guy clearly believes they get the pick. 🤷♂️
I think that’s the case any time you specifically shorten the length of an existing contract vs just restructuring it but might be wrong…

Whoever posted a few days ago that Carter and Taveras need to pick it up should do that shit more often…

In the previous structure, if Diggs balled out, he kept the same contract. In the new one, he could get a better contract. It’s corresponds more directly, so it should give him more incentive
For all you (or any of us) know, this was a condition of the trade in the first place…

The cancelling future years thing is definitely weird. Maybe that was a Diggs requirement to go along with this peacefully. Regardless, I liked the deal a lot before this news but that 2nd round pick seems a little pricey for a 1-year rental.
Keep in mind, that 2nd round pick is what we got from Minnesota for moving our 1st rounder back 19 picks. We still have our own 2nd rounder….

Fucking Achilles’ Last Stand tonight…it’s probably over already, but just for future development would like to keep it alive one more day…

So essentially, getting possibly one year of Diggs plus a 6th this year, a 5th next year, and an upgrade of our 7th to a 6th this year cost us a 19-pick downgrade of our 1st rounder this year. Plus, obviously, the $ we pay Diggs this year. Draft capital-wise, that’s not a big spend to get CJ another proven weapon.
The voided years thing is curious outside of the motivational aspect, but I wonder if it isn’t somehow related to Nico’s extension? That or they’re really convinced that either Justin Jefferson or CeeDee Lamb will actually hit FA next year lol…

The one that hacked up that lady in the shower? Think he died in prison..

Deebo Samuel had/has 6.8 and 8.9 hits the first two years of his extension. If we sign Nico to a similar deal we can easily absorb it, and that’s before considering the $5.5MM savings you’d get from cutting Robert Wood. I’d love to shore up safety with a pre-draft signing and end up with CB, DT, and OL (in whatever order) our 3 picks in rounds 2-3 of the draft..

I think his 2024 salary guaranteed on 3/17, but we were gonna pay that anyway. This can basically be a one-year deal if we need it to, and the cost was basically trading our 1st rounder this year 19 spots…

Blurb on ESPN says 6 weeks FWIW…bigger issue is that’s the kind of injury that can linger for a hitter. Fuck all we can do it about it now, next man up…

Think it’s too late; only 158 games left….

There we go…take the series tomorrow, hope for good news on JJ…

If not already mentioned the world wide leader had a feature last weekend about a Chefs fan that did the whole face painting and cosplay thing. Turned out he was a bank robber. Would get arrested, escape, arrested, escape, wash, rinse, repeat. When he got caught the final time he apologized to "Chefs Nation", not the half dozen bank tellers he stuck a pistol in the face of. Their fans are a special kind of special
Are bank robbers who are fans of other teams (and you know there are a shitload of them) markedly different according to your research?

Thats how people die. In my world, both drivers would do some jailtime. In reality, if that is Rice driving the vette, he'll pay some top dollar lawyer to get probation. Hopefully the league at least suspends his ass. If DPD is actively looking for Rice, you would think his lawyers/agent would make him available today. Booze should be out of his system at least.
Posted it on the Ruggs thread, but I don’t give a fuck if these dipshits were hammered or stone cold sober, there should be mandatory jail time for this shit. How the fuck is this any different than randomly firing a .45 through a house as you drive by?
EDIT - Answering my own question, it’s worse - a bullet has a lower chance of finding a breathing stopping point, and the bullet is traveling so fast nobody has time to bang into the person next to them trying to get out of the way…

It was pretty clusterfucky. I mean, it's always clusterfucky but especially last year. I chalk it up to being the highest profile matchup between the two teams for a while, and the first really big one post COVID. In 2021 Texas had some of the wind taken out of its sails when they got rolled by Arkansas, and it was hot as fuck. 2022 OU was a train wreck and everyone knew it. 2023 was a matchup of top 10-12 teams (don't remember where exactly OU was ranked), Texas was #2 or #3 and obviously the profile was riding as high as it had since 09 with the Bama win. College Game Day, perfect weather, all that.
Last year was also the worst I’ve ever seen (every year sans Covid since 1984) for stadium workers not giving a fuck about who strolls in after halftime. There had to be another 5,000 people jammed into the walkways in the 2nd half. They’ve got to get a handle on that shit…

Had to lay an egg at some point; really need that game in Minnesota now…

The State Fair has got to tell Gameday that they can't setup in front of the stadium any longer. It creates too much of a bottleneck in an already tight area. Make them set up by the Texas Star or the Museums. You'll still have a decent shot of the Cotton Bowl from there.
Jesus Christ, fucking this. They need to set up where they used to, that Gate 1 entrance was always a sucker bet but it’s unholy now…

Man if Burke can regain his 2022 form that’s huge for the ‘pen….

Anything at all they do to increase the size of the concourses is welcome. The exterior of the stadium needs to maintain the awesomeness that is the entire fairgrounds architecture, but just like pre-1996 DKR, there’s nothing awesome about the concourses, bathrooms, or concessions of the underbelly, and hasn’t been for decades…
