Update on this:
As of now he will not vote Republican in the midterms. He's now using "oligarchy' when talking about college football.
I talked shit about Trump and Hegseth again to him and for the first time there was zero pushback or hysterical anger.
He will never vote for Democrats but I think it's possible to get him to vote third party or sit out.
My mom, a diehard liberal, has a bunch of crusty old MAGAt old women acquaintances as one would expect in these parts. One of them said, "They're going to wind up killing him (you know who) and I'll be glad they did."
That line of thought wasn't even considered among the MAGAts even a few months ago. The dotard done fucked up.

If they did, they would lose access, the lifeblood of the White House press corps.
And corporate media wonders why it's less and less relevant by the day.

Serious question; do you understand that Elon Musk is not being given $1T dollars?
He's being given 12% of the company, which today is worth (before AHT) somewhere in the neighborhood of $1.54T. That means it's worth $180bn today.
If he can, somehow and someway, grow Tesla to $8.33 trillion valuation (60% larger than Nvidia at it's most bubbliest, by the way), then by that miracle he would have a $1 Trillion dollar package.
The framing of this narrative is silly.
That's all, I'll see my way out.
$1T or $180B, he still needs to meet the business end of a guillotine.

TWCP won 43-3 against New Caney to finish the regular season at a perfect 10-0.
Our top WR didn't play last night, no idea why. That's concerning heading into the playoffs.

Per CNBC Trump due to make announcement from WH. Curious if it’s in regards to shutdown or if we have annexed Venezuela.
Congratulations, fats.

During the Great Egg Shortage of the 2020s, we reached out to other countries to resolve the Supply issue of the Supply Demand slopes to help drive down cost. I don't remember egg farmers bitching about that move.
Why is it bad to do the same for beef prices?
I'll hang up and listen.
Because this is the beef industry's first time to engage in price gouging since COVID?
Egg industry makes up some bullshit excuse at least once a year. My favorite was "Well, we're in baking season." Like that was the first year everyone decided to bake a cake or something.

Maybe we don’t want it.
You’re all rich enough already, just cash out, pop the bubble, trigger a recession/depression, and let the rest of us move on.They have to get to their IPO stage first. It's coming soon enough.

She should pinkie promise Johnson she won't say the discharge petition.
Get sworn in, sign the document five seconds later. That's what the Rs would do.

I mean, you are probably not super far off, but before times to me is 2016. Covid was much less traumatic than that.
I actually liked the COVID days. WFH, plenty of day drinking, dotard lost re-election. It was great.

My Trump apologist uncle had a big party planned for this Saturday night, his son in NYC is bringing his very serious girlfriend in town to meet the whole family. He's had it planned for months.
He just texted us that the party is cancelled due to "travel issues", his son in NYC and another cousin of mine in LA aren't able to fly in. He was laughing about the shutdown last week saying everything was still running normally. Don't think he's laughing now!
My son is flying in from NY this weekend. No cancellation (yet).

After last night, I'm guessing this thing gets hashed out by the end of next week? Until yesterday, I think they truly believed that Fox News et al. was successful in convincing the country that the shutdown was Democrats' fault.
I think it makes things less likely for a re-opening. They know they are going to get smashed next year so why not inflict as much pain and cruelty as possible in the meantime?
