Tell me about the Yukon experience. Benefits? Downsides?

I have been in a truck for 15 years. Always toy with the idea of a Yukon. I do a lot hunting and fishing but unfortunately I spend more time cruising around town to the office and to the courthouse. Need to parallel park sometimes. My truck bed is empty 90%+ days.

I have a small four wheeler trailer I could hook up for lumber or other, similar hauling duties. I could purchase a hitch receiver basket for dead whitetail.

Seems like I could get away with a full size SUV and enjoy more luxury features / easier handling in tight spots.

You are exactly where I was a couple years ago when I ordered the Yukon Denali. Don't get me wrong, I loved that that thing....strong engine with surprising fuel stats, nimble in  traffic, and comfortable as hell...great for road trips with missus harley. And I also hunt, thus, as you stated, the trailer for the UTV/ATV.(which I still need)..etc.

...but I missed the bed, and being in the construction biz, the 2500 just made more sense. Maybe down the road I'll talk my wife out of a car and in to another Yukon.

Someone on the old board recommended Elmer Kelton.  I really liked The Good Old Boys, and plan on reading some more of his in the future.

True Grit, if you haven't read it.

I loved McCarthy, but I recognize he's polarizing.  You implied you'd read other stuff, but I found All the Pretty Horses much less out there than the other books in the Border Trilogy.  I think Blood Meridian is incredible, but it's definitely not everyone's cup of human entrails and effluvium tea.

CM's Suttree and Child of God might be even more gruesome ....think Faulkner on acid.

Not really my thing, but I like the Robert Parker westerns and the guy who took over for him, Robert Knott.  Wrote the screenplay to "Appaloosa" as well.

Parker's Hitch & Cole are very readable protagonists...the series works are worth the effort.

100 meters.  First time using this optic.

I liked it a lot but the crosshairs are almost too bright. It was a little rainy and windy when I did this too. Fun times.

Good glass, good shooting...fixed 4x right?

Geez.  That intro tone is butter af.

Completely unrelated to butter, I brought that DSL40C Vintage home:

I've wanted to add a DSL40C to the family since playing with a friend's, but after getting the Katana the urgency to get a beater on this side of the tone spectrum wasn't all that high.  I stopped by the Guitar Center up north, as I am wont to do, and they had this dude hiding away from the used section under the Gibson display. The Vintage Limited Edition is pretty hard to come by, but despite being only an appearance difference, I'm a sucker for limited editions. My plan is to drop a Celestion Vintage 30 into it for a start.

Here's an updated shot of the boys:

    Excelsior.

The center piece Marshal....sound as good as it looks? I'm smitten...
