We got 6 inches on Big Mountain in Whitefish a couple weeks ago.  Weather has been perfect since then.  We actually drove down to Colorado yesterday for a concert at Red Rocks tonight.  Heading back to Montana tomorrow morning. I don't mind the drive.  It's such pretty country.

So THAT'S where Brokeback Mountain was filmed...;)

But, seriously, it IS really beautiful there.

I just hate cold.  That's why I live on N Padre Island.

So, I'm only going to visit my daughter in the summer...

Headed down on Saturday morning for 4 nights at the Blue Tang.  I was supposed to leave on Monday for Roatan but I had some work chaos that I thought would wreck my trip so I cxld it only to find out I dont need to be in office next week.  Flights were cheap pre- 4th of July.  They triple on the following wknd. Sunday fishing with Tino.  Monday Caye Caulker and chill at the Split and then just hang out by the pool.  Maybe get a massage on one of those places over the water.  Tuesday maybe secret beach/truck stop?   Back in time to hit he crab races and win some money.  The chicken drop moved somewhere south apparently.  Is it even around still?

Anything else new?  I haven't been since Dec of 2023.  I think this is my 8th visit in 10 years

Foods.  Hit the Caye Mart for eggs, veggies, hot sauce. Cook my own catch. Make ceviche.  Blue Tang will set the grill up for me.  Hope I get a king mackeral.  That is such a great grilling fish.

    Pupuseria Salvadoreno. Caramba

That place is the fucking tits.  Even when you aren't hammered late at night.

  3. I'll be in London in late October to present a paper for a conference.  I grew up in England (from 5-10 years old), so it's cool going back.  I talked with my Dad and he's going to go, too.

London will be a few days for my conference, and then we're going to head out to the tiny town we lived in so my Dad and I can FINALLY drink a pint together at his favorite pub there.

Any food recs in London for us to make sure we go to?

Hey @Ag with kids, I know you've seen this response to your stupid fucking question last night, because of the screenshot below. I'll also note you haven't posted in any of the subs since.

What gives? Are you too much of a pussy to say, "Yeah, man, I was wrong." Are you just another troll?

I don't come on Cloak Room often.  (I used to on Shaggy and whatever it was called on HornFans, though)

I was probably on the Food & Travel forum.

Why would anyone that isn't far left spend a lot of time visiting this forum?  It's an echo chamber that attacks anyone that has any type of conservative views.

I drop by every once in awhile to see what the latest outrage is.  Sometimes I make a comment.

Even when EVERY SINGLE AGENCY has the same function - HR/Payroll?  So you need hundreds of HR/Payroll offices?  And they don't share any information?  That's extremely inefficient.

Why not have one central HR/Payroll office that handles those functions instead of hundreds of them - each with X number of VPs, Y number of Directors, Z number of managers?

I told my boss today that I needed access to all the payroll records for our employees in the company. When questioned why, I let him know that both IT and HR are part of the Administrative department of the company so it seems curious why one administrative dept shouldn't have access to all data from another administrative department. Why should they be segregated?

    Seems inefficient...

      Hide contents

see how fucking stupid that sounds?

So, each agency needs a completely different bureaucracy to handle that information instead of combining it into one function across all of the agencies?

Guess you like inefficiency...Instead of ONE, we should have hundreds?

Or it could be a legitimate question.

Why can agencies not share data rather than segregating it and then requiring duplicative bureaucracies to deal with the exact same data?

    That's extremely inefficient.

    I'm confused by this argument.

So DOGE, an agency under the purview of the executive branch, is getting access to data from the Social Security Administration, another agency under the purview of the executive branch.

Would there be some reason why executive branch agencies should segregate?  Seems inefficient...

I've read several reviews saying it reminds them of cold medicine and I can't disagree.

But also I've gone through 4-5 12-packs of the Zero version already

I've only had the Zero Sugar version and it was pretty tasty.

Why can't cold medicine taste like that?

  10. Damn...a lot of NW SA side folks on here...

NE SA was better way back then, though...^_^

But on the thread topic, I was just up to see my dad, who lives in Lakehills (at Medina Canyon).  He'd gone into SA for something and stopped at Mr. Juicy on San Pedro.  He said it was a damn good burger.  Just in case y'all hadn't heard about it...

  11. I visited my youngest daughter in Missoula last June.  I got there on a Thursday.

A few days before I got there, she sent me text showing the weather - It was showing a WINTER STORM WARNING.  On June 17th.

And yep, it snowed at her place.

Funnier though was that her husband and his brother (who both grew up in Polson) were on a week long hike up in the mountains just north of town.  They got caught in the storm and ended up finding a Ranger cabin that they got into while they rode out the storm.

It was absolutely beautiful weather when I got there on the 20th, though.

if you are going to troll then expect to be treated like a troll.    Saying the same stupid shit over and over and refusing to explain yourself no matter how many times people ask will always result in the kind of response you are getting.

A smarter person would know that

How am I trolling?  I stay the fuck off this board.

Then every so often, bozo pulls out his Ouija board and summons me back by tagging me and directing a post to me.

Then I respond to his post and then the dogpile of negative posts I get from the rest of y'all.

Don't comment on my posts if you don't want me to respond.  This is not a difficult concept.

And just because you don't like what I say doesn't mean I haven't explained it.  Perhaps the problem is that you're not willing to actually entertain ideas that don't neatly into your echo chamber.

Lounge guy and AA EP flyer, I use this site to plan lounge stops, as I hate tight layovers.

    https://www.oneworld.com/airport-lounges

I fly AA and live in Corpus.

My layover is DFW.  Full stop. Period.  Then I'll pretty much have a direct flight to where I want to go.

Skylink to D12, down the escalator, right turn and into the Centurion lounge.

Although the last 2 times they've had a waiting list.  So I dropped by the Admiral's lounge to get a pregame drink before I got the text to come over.  AMEX has better food (thank you Dean Fearing).

But I appreciate the link.  I'm sure I'll need it coming up since we're looking at expanding to international stuff from our organization.

If you have a Facebook account, Kayleigh Brantner's page is a piece of work.  She hawks a line of "organic" herbs, tinctures etc ... Here's what she wrote about her unvaccinated son getting the measles:

"Measles: Our Experience & Why We Didn’t Fear It

On Valentine’s Day, Paxton came home with a fever. It lasted through the weekend, and by Monday, his eyes were red. I suspected measles—since it was going around—and immediately started dosing him with Golden Shield Syrup.
My best friend Kathy Wieler brought me tallow cream mixed with thieves and lavender oils and cod liver oil, which I mixed into his Golden Shield 2-3 times a day. When his fever spiked, we used lukewarm baths with magnesium salts, baking soda, bentonite clay, and a lavender oatmeal body wash to keep him comfortable.

By Tuesday morning, a small rash appeared and spread quickly. At the doctor’s office, it was confirmed as measles, but my biggest concern was his lungs—especially with the fear-mongering going around. Praise God, his lungs were clear! We requested high-dose Vitamin A and went home to continue what we were already doing.

That same day, my Clear Protein+ arrived, which was a blessing since his appetite was low. I also kept him hydrated with Bouy and made sure he ate organic, vitamin A-rich foods like kale, collards, and sweet potatoes.
By Wednesday, his fever started dropping. By Thursday, it was gone. By Friday, he was begging to go outside and play!

➡️ I also caught a mild case—two days of fever, red eyes, and a headache but no rash. (You can only be coughed on so many times and be in close proximity with someone with it for so long without catching it, as I was sleeping with him and taking care of him 24/7.)

➡️ Braydon showed early symptoms Tuesday afternoon, had a short fever, headache, and red eyes, but has not developed a rash as of yet and is feeling better today!

➡️ Steven hasn’t shown any symptoms or signs of it. And my father in law had it as a child.

☝🏼From the moment Paxton came home sick, everyone in our house got Golden Shield and double doses of Vitamin A.

🔹 Here’s my takeaway: The measles, in a healthy child or body, is NOTHING to fear. Don’t let the media or doctors scare you. Our bodies are designed to heal when we support them properly!

    ✅ What worked for us:
    • Golden Shield Syrup for immunity and inflammation
    • Cod liver oil & tallow cream for deep nourishment
    • Vitamin A-rich foods & supplements
    • Hydration with Bouy
    • Clear Protein+ for recovery
    • Lukewarm detox baths to soothe fever and skin

Neither of my boys are vaccinated. I do NOT agree with vaccines, and I firmly believe that natural immunity is the best defense. If you’re thinking about getting the measles vaccine (or any vaccine) they’re pushing right now, PLEASE, PLEASE do your due diligence and research it first! You researched car seats and 500 other things, research these too!

I have TONS of information and will gladly point you in the right direction if you want to dig deeper. The truth is out there—you just have to be willing to look for it. Don’t blindly trust the media, big pharma, or even some doctors without questioning what’s really behind it all.

At the end of the day, God designed our bodies with an immune system for a reason. When we nourish it, support it, and allow it to do what it was created to do, we can handle things like the measles without fear.

Do your research. Ask questions. Be informed. Your family deserves it."

The US reached its all-time production record in 2023.

But we were "energy independent" for about 48 hours under Trump.

And, the growth in clean energy jobs more than made up for any losses in the oil sector.

I wasn't making a comment about the level of O&G production.

My comment was about the comments from the last administration when they cancelled the pipeline.
