Bump. Headed there by myself for a week this summer. Any new updates on hikes, bars, restaurants.

Hiking, fishing, rafting , day trip to GNP and good craft brews are on the docket. Thanks

I'll ask my daughter.  She lives there.  Her husband grew up in Polson, on the south end of Flathead Lake.

Marriott Bonvoy Ap has a promo of 1000 bonus points and 1 Bonus Elite night credit per night stayed from Feb 13 through April 29.  Could give you a boost to next level for the year.

I only saw it in the Ap, not on my saved link on laptop.

It showed up in my app, but when I tried to click on the link, it did nothing.  Hopefully just a little glitch for now.  Might have a couple work trips coming up in that period.

ETA:  Just saw it online, so I tried it that way and got this:

Tidbit about the new bar opening in February....

So, the Grand Opening of this Beach Bum place is Feb 3.

Apparently a group of folks from Lakehills are coming down to check it out, so I guess my Dad and I will be going.

I'll have my GF be the DD for us to get back to NPI.  She's taking some meds right now and can't drink alcohol.  Sucks to be her.

  4. On a better note, I got here on SPI around 5:00 and I will have to say I like Margaritaville so far.

Got a couple food recs from the bartender earlier...

Shark Tank Lounge OTB in Port Isabel and Mahi Nic's for fish tacos.  Going to try those out this trip.

Going to get that 2nd bridge it looks like:

This is the location, quite a bit North of where anything is today and 8 miles long.

I live on NPI.  We're getting another causeway too.  I'm 55 so it should be done about the time I hit 3 digits in the age column.

I'll bet the timeline here is like that...

Needed a few extra miles on UA by eoy so headed down to San Pedro for 4 nights then over to TPA to see my sister and family.

7th trip to Belize but first in 1.5 years. Staying at Blue Tang for the 4th time. They give me a discount.

Will fish for whaoo but 2 days with zero plans. If I can find some people to hang might hit secret Beach but otherwise just going to chill around San Pedro.

I've actually never set foot on Caye Caulker? Is it worth getting over there for a day?

My GF has been there several times with her best friend.  She says it's great and they really enjoyed it.  I unfortunately have had to miss those trips due to work and school.  From her rec I'd say a day trip would be worth it, even it's just to see what's there.

Look I’ve been an EWR truther for years, you don’t have to pitch me, but I’ve got a handful of things going here.

     1) I’m exec platinum on AA, which is awful for most people but honestly pretty great for EPs

    2) I also fly to a ton of second/third-tier cities (think Ft Wayne, Midland etc) making AA an often necessary choice

    3) When in NYC I’m mostly in midtown and my office is next door to Grand Central. With the new Madison terminal opening and the LIRR line, I’m able to get from gate in Terminal 8 to midtown in 50 minutes regardless of traffic via air train-Jamaica-Grand Central.

that said- you are absolutely right that most people should fly into EWR when going to Manhattan and take the train to Penn Station.

@PenelopeWitherspoon agree with your points about Heathrow. Most issues is Heathrow are related to airport operations in my opinion. Perceptions are tainted by people being angry about delays when they are there.
CDG, on the other hand, is fucking terrible in all circumstances.

Meh..Never really had bad experience at CDG.

Granted, I've only been through there 4 times, but...

Saw these yesterday and had to pick up a bag. Unsurprisingly, they slammed and would rank as one of the better Cheddar chips I've had. Washed them down with some Brawndo.

    But...

    Why not...

    Just get Cheetos?

What's next?  Doritos Lays® Sour Cream and Onion Flavor?

  9. A couple things I haven't seen on here...

The Clementinum and Astronomical Tower was kinda cool

Nase maso for a burger - it was REALLY good.  It's a butcher shop that sells burgers. And they have (or had when I went) beer taps for you to pour your own beer which was nice.

Lulz. Yes, it’s the real Four Seasons account. Maybe Mossad needs to look at Four Seasons Landscaping?

I think the Four Seasons is saying "Please don't blow up our hotel!!!"

Hamas’ continued existence requires civilians and framing israel to gin up international outrage. It’s their only play at this point.

On another sad note, Suzanne Somers died today.  Not in the bombing, though.

There are lots of possible explanations. They are not necessarily mutually exclusive.

    1) Russia helped plan the attack to increase their chances of winning in Ukraine

    2) Hamas wanted untraceable money and used crypto so it couldn't be easily traced

    3) A Russian crypto was the only viable avenue that Hamas could use for international funding

    4) Russia wasn't involved directly but saw an avenue to spread unrest

    5) It was a regular occurrence that just happened to coincide with the attack

    Are there more possibilities?

Don't trust Russia.  Russia is asshore!

It was a good time at Shorty’s. Surprisingly not that crowded considering it was the eclipse and the Pig Party but we left fairly early so maybe it got busier. Round 2 starts this afternoon at the house. Fajitas and margaritas with some good friends.

I think all the idiots just stopped on NPI and didn't drive the rest of the way to Port A...

Did it ever clear up?   My plan was to be there but an urgent work project popped up and I’m working my first Saturday in forever…

Clouds kinda broke here on NPI.  I had a great view of it from the backyard.

I assume it was clear a few miles north at Port A.
