  1. If anyone is looking for decent two way speakers there are some EPI 100V speakers on Austin CL right now. I have no idea of their condition (not affiliated in any way) but I've always wanted some EPI and these are $150.00. I have been informed that we presently have sufficient speakers at my house.

  2. So far, on offense, no childish resistance to go to what will work, and no insistence on trying to go back to the original plan and away from what is working. Logical play calling for the most part. Buy in from the players. We need better execution and about two cycles of recruiting improvement and we'll have a monster. We beat a team that has been kicking our asses and we did it on a day when our QB and our fastest receiver had less than stellar days. There is reason for optimism.  Casey will only get better. As said above, this is the kind of game that builds your team.

    This.

Doesn't matter the sport - there's always some kid who "wasn't offered" that would have played for Texas in a heartbeat and it's the broadcaster's favorite story to repeat all game long.

And then they make a good play and it's THE TEXAN IN FRONT OF THE HOME STATE CROWD! or THE AUSTIN NATIVE BACK HOME! to really emphasize how we "missed" on them.

But if the fathers of two players weren't college room mates, you have to talk about something.

  4. Yes, he would have been an interesting hire, football wise. No, he could not have survived long amongst the rampant stupidity that is Collie Station. Yet again, Lubbock beats out Collie Station. That is a very low bar, yet...

Enjoy dykes this season… he’ll be coaching at Tech in 3 months

Is Tceh his ambition? Maybe coaching the program his dad coached is cool, but it seems he could go higher if he wants to. I'm not arguing, I just don't know if TT beats out a better program for him.

Leaving your team in the middle of a game and throwing your uniform away.

That's a pretty accurate, succinct, definition right there.

  7. Brooks appears to have been ready for opportunities. I like it when  kid makes good use of the time after high school to get himself ready to play. I also like smaller district RBs because they often play both ways and/or at multiple offensive positions and imo that makes for a better all around football player. I think this kid gets his time right after #5 inks  his first contract.

  8. I was more in favor of Thompson from the start, but the decision to go with Card was solid based on the limited performance the HC saw personally, and the requirements of the full offensive playbook. Also, if he was ready, it should have been Card given the big arm and the prospect of stability with a multi season starter. What I hope for is a Hudson Card rebirth after Thompson moves on. Maybe spending time on the sideline watching game speed college football will benefit him.

Saying the OL failures were due to things like “missed assignments” infuriates me.

The OL failures are a direct result of 3 things-

    1. Poor talent eval’s
    2. Poor development
    3. Poor system implementation

We need an influx of 10 OL this off-season. Period. I dont care if we have to sign 20 or 25 OL next class…..fix this fucking problem. For once.

This is correct. The first team DL is better, but lacks much depth. It sounds like old jock truism, but the game is won or lost at the line of scrimmage. We have insufficient talent, what he have has not been well developed, and they are playing a new system. By the way, Saban went 7-6 his first year at Bama. He had a lot of players disqualified for the text book thing, but he had his problems, and we have ours. I'm tired of being angry every fall Saturday. If there is clear progress as the season progresses, and some solid OL recruiting, it should get better. At this point I just need to see progress.

  10. LuLa is well coached and has some athletes with experience. It's going to be a thousand degrees on the field. They're used to SW La. heat, but they don't have the depth we do. We've got maybe the best running back in CFB and he's backed up by a pretty deep RB roster. At worst, we grind them down, at best, they have to send secondary to stop the grind and one or both of our QBs make that costly. This is all dependent on competent OL play. Doesn't have to spectacular, just competent. I also think if we can get a little pressure, our CBs will have a big day. Win by 17. All of LHN goes completely, fucking crazy. Statues are discussed.

  11. Everyone knows that Plonsky does no grocery shopping. She makes female, freshmen, track athletes do it for her. She intentionally puts really embarrassing stuff on the list, like XXL Depends, and ultra super heavy day tampons. Then she makes them bring the bags into her house and put the groceries away real slowly, while wearing dirty volleyball shorts she took from the locker room.

Uncle Rico meme is funny, but remember...he wasn't played at QB in the state championship game.  Hence, their loss.  And his eventual life trajectory.

What is the team name/mascot of the Bishop Sycamores anyway?

That was his first time around, while he was still a HS student. He was 20 when he won state with his "adopted" high school  Bishop Sycamore

  13. I've just  about got my second system set up. I have the Kenwood KR7600 in a nice Ikea stereo cabinet, along with my Pioneer of a lesser god PL 40 TT, but I'm using a Toshiba DVD/CD player (which is pretty good actually) for CDs. Last year I bought a Teac CD player that has USB input to the Dac, so you can send well processed digital to analog to your vintage gear, which is a really nice feature. I spent $212.00 with tax. I thought I'd see what the same unit would cost me today. Shit! Used/open box they're $400.00! I hadn't thought about the chip/parts shortage. That's just crazy.

  14. Frazier(made in Dallas TX)Manhattan, Model XX, Model Seven(x2), Monte Carlo D

These intrigue me. There are a set of Model VIs on the Craig's List for $200.00. They have a big footprint but I read great things about them.

  15. No, the L520s are sweet and warm and still accurate. I think they may be the best smaller two way ever made. Of course there are many speakers and opinions, but I haven't heard anything that beats them out of the same sized box. I need something with more umph for a big den with high ceilings. Has some AR3s lined up but someone beat me to them.

The Mac preamp and amp are beautiful. I've heard a lot of that equipment, but I've never heard a McIntosh speaker. Are they warm, extremely accurate? How do you perceive them?

And G650, should you ever decide you want to sell the equipment you described, let me know. That's all quality equipment.
