I kinda wish we could see Tom against bama. Yes he should’ve been fired and glad he’s not here but he never got blown out so curious if bama would’ve finally done that. I mean we all know what bama is gonna do to sark.
Anyway, if card, a third year player is running close with Ewers, it’s Ewers job.
But yeah beating Kansas is a good start and not losing a huge ass lead, would be a good season.-

Humidor - team news
SpoilerCongrats to you fans who made it through the first grueling portion of offseason — the winter bloc. By now, you’ve no doubt mentally recovered from a disappointing season, re-centered yourself around passion for the game, and hit the weights and conditioning hard in anticipation of a demanding spring cleaning season. We’re about to leave it all out there on the grass, aren’t we men? The players may have Bevo, but we have Toro.
*DeMarvion Overshown had himself a good winter bloc of strength and conditioning. The group he led won the offseason competition that was centered around accountability, plus he’s added a lot of good muscle. His team featured Jordan Whittington as second in command, Isaiah Neyor, Jaylan Ford, Ryan Watts, Jamier Johnson, and a handful of others. What did they win? As a source put it, “They won some gear which they already have a lot of. That was more about pride and the players taking offseason seriously, which they did.”
*Though Overshown is listed on the roster at 221 pounds, he’s nearing 230 per sources. This doesn’t mean he’ll play linebacker with the pop of Junior Seau, but he’s giving himself a better chance at the point of attack. The bulk he’s added means a move to safety is not happening (sorry, Ian, you’ll have to move someone else), however he will get a look at Sam linebacker in the base defense.
*Inside Texas asked a source who he thought would be the best linebacker by the end of spring and heard, “Jaylan Ford. Smart dude, knows football, and is physical.” IT then asked about David Gbenda and heard, “He’s faster and stronger, he’ll be one to watch to see if that translates to being improved this spring.”
*Jett Bush is more likely to figure in at Buck than Mike or Will. This makes sense given he was undersized for Jack, but might not move well enough for off-ball linebacker. Sources would contend on that bit about him not moving well enough for traditional linebacker, by the way. He’s known as a good athlete and one of the stronger pound-for-pound players with a power clean in the 350-pound range. Bush will be needed competition with Ovie Oghoufo and IT believes this is his best position.
*The secondary has a lot of competition but sourcing believes things are fairly cut and dried with D’Shawn Jamison and Ryan Watts likely corner starters, Jahdae Barron likely to win STAR/nickel, Jerrin Thompson most likely at field safety, and Anthony Cook the boundary safety. That doesn’t mean you won’t hear about other players rotating in with the ones. Some of these competitions could take some time to play out.
*IT asked if Cook can hold up at boundary safety. “Yes he can because he’s physical and plays with heart.” The secondary should be strong in coverage, but fans would be justified to be skeptical about run support.
*With Barron expected at nickel and Kitan Crawford moving to safety, CB3 will be quite the battle. Jamier Johnson, Terrance Brooks, and Jaylon Guilbeau will all be working towards that coveted rotational spot. Johnson has good length and plays with physical intent (still needs to get bigger and stronger) but is most comfortable in man coverage. He’s still refining technique. Brooks and Guilbeau are both about to get their first taste of college ball. One or both could get a look at nickel as well.
*A source was asked which guys added the most strength. “That’s where the linebackers and linemen shine. Junior Angilau has the best bench I think. He got stronger. Devin Richardson is strong. A lot of the younger guys made big jumps. Justice Finkley is strong. Barryn Sorrell looks like he’s wearing shoulder pads. Byron Murphy looks great. One guy who has the ability to get big and powerful is Jaray Bledsoe. He’s naturally explosive in the weight room. Like Finkley, he didn’t lift with the freshman for long.”
*With spring break coming to a close, players will report back on Sunday for a team meeting. The first day of practice is next Tuesday.Recruiting

If Todd Monken is what's drawing Arch to UGA, they should be out. That guy is gonna be a HC or in the NFL by the time Arch shows up.
Counter, sark may not even be the coach at Texas by the time he starts.-

When strong was hired- we just had hope, we knew Mack fucked the roster up so we felt bad for strong plus he was nice. We all know he was a terrible coach. Recruiting was fun, although he only had top 10 classes.
Herman- long live hope. At least we had winning seasons. players hated him, we did too because he was an asshole. He had to go.
Sark- one year in and we already know he isn’t going to work. I hope he proves us wrong and I’ll watch till the bitter end.
I don’t know which situation is worse.
I feel like we all agree we are going to get embarrassed when Alabama comes into town. So yeah, why the hell would anyone want to come here? You have atm paying a ridiculous amount. We make fun of 8-4, but I’d take that over whatever the hell has been going on the past 10 years here minus the 10 win season. They’re riding on having the number 1 class, beating bama (lol) and we literally have nothing. I agree, we can hope Ewers and the young OL and please god, a competent defense can put a quality product on the field but the 2023 guys aren’t waiting that long. And if the BMD’s aren’t gonna pony up and get dirty then that’s on them. Probably the only thing that can hold this together.
I take responsibility that I’m not a BMD. I’m just a poor SOB, so my fault too.
But fuck ‘em! I’ll hope till the very end damnit.
(What Urban did at Jacksonville isn’t that bad, right) -

They have Walmart backing them so this could be legit. Its also a possible explanation for recent recruiting L's-

The heat stroke death was while he was head coach. And it was Maryland. Someone has to be the hc there.
My bad, I meant if he’s only had 1 top 25 defense how did he become a HC -
Doesn’t belong here but can’t find the right thread.
Anyway why did mason resign?? I saw the ok state smoke but he doesn’t have any better options? Isn’t he supposed to be a good head dc.-

So Jimbo’s coaching moves this cycle were:
1) Hired an OL coach that’s an asshole and racist that hasn’t coached the position since 2010.
2) Hired a strength coach that’s only been employed by Jimbo and has always been in an assistant S&C role.
3) Hired a defensive coordinator that murdered one of his players and has only coached 1 top 25 defense in his entire career.
Jimbo better keep buying recruits because he doesn’t seem very good at anything else.
So how did durkin get a HC job? Curious, never knew about the guy until the dead player.

Yes. A child murderer.
Besides the killing part, is he good? -
TLDR. Been away for awhile. Have they hired anyone as DC yet?

This is why you don't overreact to bowl games. Oregon was down like 40 scholarship players and now OU fans think Riley was the problem because they beat a mediocre team without half their roster.
Half of us did the same thing with Casey Thompson last year lol
Side note I remember when there was a rumor that sark could bring Bryce Young with him and some Texas fans were still on the Casey bandwagon lol. -

Why wouldnt Williams just got to USC? Did Riley really make Williams and Rattler that mad over the QB situation or is jaxson dart that good?

Malchow is a major, major bagman. That is a big loss no longer how much they spin it.
Not sure how bag game works but can’t they just get another guy and make him the bagman?
I see a lot of people say X is a bagman but can’t anyone be a bagman if you give them the money?-

I’m surprised by the OC stuff. I figured he could get another head coaching job. Even Charlie got USF after Texas.
-
They want the #1 class and the players want that too. Bags are flowing but the hype for "best class of all time" is putting a good deal of pressure on anyone out of that group from jumping ship
Damn, it could be the best class of all time? -

Earnest Greene’s 247 page- 100% CB’s to Georgia.
Apparently there’s only one pick lolol

We go through this every year and their season total wins ends up being better than we all thought.
So I’ll go with 8 wins no matter who’s at QB.
