  1. Somehow....now this is wierd.  I have almost no recollection of Highlander.   Heads roll and that's all I know.  I don't think I've ever seen it.  I think it came out when I was still in private Christian elementary school.  I wasn't allowed to watch stuff or listen to any radio stations except 88.1 KGNZ.  I remember that!

  2. I’ve been watching some season 5 I think for late night snooze.

Carla has a bunch of kittens in a box for some reason and she’s trying to get rid of them.

mid episode Woody asks how she got rid of them. Carla  says easy… I just offered a free beer with everyone.

Norm walks out of the back room with a dozen kittens hanging all over him and coming out of every pocket.

    Classic and super cute.

  3. We went for a greenbelt walk just before.  I’ve been doing my best to keep him out of all the burrs.  He chased a rabbit into them and probably has a hundred burrs that need to pull out now.  But we were hot and a swim was first priority.

Stetson always dries off like that. He wasn’t rubbing because of the burrs.  It’s really funny and cute every time.  Plus he dries off in about one minute like that because he’s a Welsh Terrier. He’s water proof and his back feet are webbed. Hence the 20+ minute swims.  Especially in the summer when it’s too hot to walk long distances. He loves it!

Maybe not severe football injuries but otherwise a good list.

I moved from private Christian school to public school in fifth grade.  A senior named Stacey Kirk took a bad hit and went quadriplegic or maybe just his legs.  Long time ago.

As I went into football I realized the stakes of playing.  I kept my neck strong.   This is before fair catch rules or any other safety stuff.  I think they had just realized hydration improves performance instead of training “dry” and then water in the game would boost performance.

Anyways, I don’t hear about injuries like that anymore.

Freshman year some seniors tried that shit on me.  I was skinny but 6 foot tall on varsity.  I didn’t fight them, I just explained that I won’t fit. They gave up and moved on to someone smaller.

For nearly 35 years you thought that in a hit song about his fictional father being in prison for murdering his wife for cheating, Garth Brooks threw in a random line about his father not knowing how to drive a manual transmission?!

The epiphany must have been like when I realized it was “revved up like a deuce.”

Great post.  I thought the song writing or lyrics were wrong about how to operate a manual transmission.   It turns out I heard that word wrong and it stuck with me.  I had never talked or written about it until now, and I was corrected by the internet of assholes; you included.  I now know that "he never hit the brakes when he was shifting gears" was not the lyric (illogilcal); he never hit the brakes AND he was shifting gears (accelearting into the hotel; logical).  Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

This place just keeps getting better.  Great forum.  Keep it up.

That’s what I thought forever. He didn’t hit the brakes and he was shifting gears.

So he was speeding up when he hit.

Ok, changing "when" to "and" makes sense.  That's been bugging me for 30 something years.
