  1. My downstairs is filled with about 6,000 CDs and 5,000 LPs. I will NEVER part with them. All of the CDs are in my digital library, which is now over 235,000 songs. I am also (slowly) ripping the obscure vinyl to digital, but it takes forever because I am such an anal-retentive dork and I de-click that shit one pop at a  time. The upside is that the vinyl rips usually sound better than CD releases.

HELP ME. I NEED A MUSICAL INTERVENTION.

  2. Got my Opening Day tix in a pre-sale yesterday, Cheapest ticket was $90 for the upper deck, and that includes upper deck in the outfield. Jesus. I bought 'em because, well, opening day. And I'm taking my eight-month-old son to his first baseball game! I know that means we'll miss a ton of it, but it will be worth it. No football games 'til he's much older.

Based on last years schedule Arkansas is equal to Maryland. Lower/Middle tier team in power conf on the road.   ULL should have been a game vs a traditional Power like USC was. Every other year looks nice on paper but the 2021 home  schedule absolutely blows.

    Home Schedule will be

    ULL

    Rice

    Kansas

    KST

    Ok St

    Texas Tech

This year is similar but the LSU game  offsets that in a major way.

2021 is not an ideal schedule, and I happily admit that. We obviously had an opening we had to fill, and I'm betting Del Conte tried to fill it with a bigger-name team. One problem: no P5 school is gonna give us a one-off home game on one year's notice. I'm sure he tried to work something out but eventually had to settle for Louisiana. Given our future schedule opponents post-2021, I wouldn't worry about this one-off.

We continue to backtrack on our offseason schedule. I feel like this is doing both the program and the fans a disservice. I mean I understand why it is happening and I understand that ultimately we will be rewarded for it with swooning over our inflated record, but it sucks.

You know, there's an actiual website for Texas athletics that contains our future football schedules. Maybe you should go take a peek. If you already have but still somehow think that playing home and homes with Michigan, Alabama, Ohio State, and Georgia sucks-- well, I can't really help you.

  5. And yes, I remember this Rams-Vikings game. I didn't see it on TV because it was blacked out in L.A., so I had to listen to Dick Enberg on the radio. That was pretty normal back then-- Rams home games were rarely on local TV because the Coliseum held 100,000 people back then.

  6. I am so pumped for this game. I grew up in LA and lived and died with the Rams, but we moved to Texas in '79 and I became a Cowboys fan as well. Still rooted for the Rams, but that ended when they went to St. Louis. Well, now that they're back in LA (and often wearing those glorious '70s-'80s uniforms), I can't help but root for them again. I'll be pulling for Dallas tonight, but the whole idea of Rams-Cowboys in the playoffs IN THE L.A. MEMORIAL COLISEUM is just too much for my brain to process...

I fondly remember watching so many games in the stadium on alumni band week watching that old guy launch those batons easily 80+ feet into the air, and usually catching them clean on the way down.

I also remember the smoke show female baton girl who basically spent something like 8 years in the band getting a doctorate degree.

I thought I read on either shaggy or even as far back as hornfans that she married a Longhorn cattle rancher.

She and her husband sit in front of me at home games. They are great people and have an adorable son named Texas. Texas was very excited to see his mom perform during the Alumni band show this year.

Question.   I know the product so far is kind of shitty.  But dang the Erwin looked very empty with the limited crowd shots last night on ESPN.

Is it really that bad in person?

I guess I really haven't paid attention in years past, but are these non conference games usually like this as far as attendance?    I know the UNC's, etc pretty much sell out as I went to the UNC game in 2015.  But I would have expected more in attendance for last night's game than what was shown on TV.

I think you just answered your own question when you said, "I guess I really haven't paid attention."

well the upper deck tickets on stubhub are already significantly less than face value. i imagine it won't be hard getting a good deal around the day of on some better tickets.

Yeah, after seeing this I decided to hold off on buying through the Foundation. I'd likely get uppers anyways so might as well spend less money.

  10. If we lose a close one to OU, I'd be shocked if the committee dropped us below WVU. We finished 2nd in the conference and they finished 4th. Sure, we'd have one more loss than they do but we will have played TWO more games (remember, their game against a decent NC State team was cancelled). Then again, this committee smokes crack so who knows?

Let's just win and we won't have to sweat any of this.

  11. I 100% agreed with what McVay did on that second-to-last possession. He did NOT want to give the ball back to Mahomes with a minute left, which is what would have happened if they had run it three straight times. And who can blame him after watching this shit? He knew one first down on any play would essentially clinch it, and the yardage was there on the 2nd down play but the Chiefs defender made a nice play on the ball. In the end, the Chiefs got the ball back with about 6 extra seconds and a timeout that they wouldn't have had. Of course, it all worked out anyways but I liked the idea.

    Incredible game.

  12. I'm a lifelong Dodgers fan. My grandpa was the original radio engineer for Vin Scully & Jerry Doggett when the Dodgers moved to LA. My mother went out on a date with Sandy Koufax. I moved to Texas in 1979 and became a huge Ranger fan, and have followed both teams fanatically ever since.

That means my teams have lost 4 of the last 9 World Series. Fuck me.

  13. Now sure, if they make the extra point it doesn't matter. But extra points aren''t automatic in the NFL anymore. If they miss it, it's an 8-point game and Green Bay has a chance. Gurley's play guaranteed a victory,

that self stop by Gurley probably hurt some gamblers.  If he scores it's a 9 point lead, maybe 8 if the PAT is missed. IMO should have scored.

WHAT? He goes down short of the goal, they take a knee on 1st down, and the Rams win. He scores, and you give Aaron Rodgers a full minute to possibly tie the score. That was a brilliant play. Gurley and Sean McVay give zero shits about fantasy numbers and point spreads. I'm pretty sure McVay called that time out to tell his team NOT to score if the Packers let them.
