Got dusty realizing that. However, he made the top 4 in the last 4 majors. Most elite players would kill for that. We're calling for him to retire cuz it's embarrassing.

That is to say, if he goes through the us, or ausie without breaking down, he could win it. The last two times he's played alcaraz he won.

Crazy to step back and realize he has dominated tennis and the majors for a decade.

Yeah, I can't believe we're saying retire because he lost to the current #1 in the semi finals.  He's going to stick around another year and probably win another major and retire even moreso as the greatest player of all time.

He will not win another major. Barring any major injuries one of these two of Sinner and Alcaraz will win more majors in my opinion. Quite the lofty goal, but the men’s field has no one on their level right now.

He's not winning another major.  He can't hold up over 5 sets for two weeks.  Honestly, I have very mixed feelings about him.  He's been a tremendous individual competitor but his vaccines shit really made me question his mentality.  Regardless he's in the top 2 or 3 of all time; even if Roger or Rafa is more beloved, his results are hard to argue with.  Just a really gifted tennis player and all around athlete.

Novak didn’t look done to me today. Sinner played top level tennis and was lucky as hell to be there. With no dominant men outside of Sinner and Alcaraz it wouldn’t take a whole lot for Novak to wake up and find himself in a major final again.

I like Novak. Out of the Big-3 I probably like him the most. That said, it's been 22 months now since he won the U.S. Open in 2023. I just don't see him winning another major. I would not be upset if I were completely wrong but, he is 38-years old. I think time to exit stage left.

Sinner dismantles ailing Djokovic to set up Wimbledon final against Alcaraz

Novak Djokovic said he must accept the reality that his ageing body continues to make it extremely difficult for him to win another grand slam title after struggling physically in his emphatic defeat by the world No 1, Jannik Sinner, in the semi-finals of Wimbledon on Friday.

A month after suffering a straight sets defeat by Sinner in the semi-finals of the French Open, Djokovic was subjected to an even more one-sided 6-3, 6-3, 6-4 defeat by an imperious Sinner. The 38-year-old moved sluggishly throughout and he took a medical timeout after losing the second set.

“I don’t think it’s bad fortune,” said Djokovic. “It’s just age, the wear and tear of the body. As much as I’m taking care of it, the reality hits me right now, last year and a half, like never before, to be honest.

It’s tough for me to accept that because I feel like when I’m fresh, when I’m fit, I can still play really good tennis. I’ve proven that this year. But playing best of five, particularly this year, has been a real struggle for me physically. The longer the tournament goes, the worse the condition gets. I reached the semis of every slam this year, but I have to play Sinner or [Carlos] Alcaraz. These guys are fit, young, sharp. I feel like I’m going into the match with the tank half empty. It’s just not possible to win a match like that.

It is what it is, you know? It’s one of these things I accept and embrace in some way, deal with the reality the way it is, and try to make the most out of it, I guess.

  2. WBA lightweight champion Gervonta "Tank" Davis, 30, was arrested on Friday morning in Miami Beach on a battery charge stemming from an alleged domestic dispute with his ex-girlfriend of four years.

According to WPLG Local 10, Davis' arrest comes nearly a month after he allegedly assaulted the mother of two of his three children on Father's Day outside of her home in Doral. Talk show host Andy Slater was the first to report the incident and stated that Davis was "accused of hitting his ex-girlfriend on the back of the head and slapping her."

He was taken into custody in Miami Beach before being transported by the Doral Police Department.

According to Miami-Dade county's inmate report, Davis is currently being held at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center with his bond "to be set."

The star boxer has had numerous run-ins with the law over the years that included domestic violence and multiple traffic offenses. His last run-in came in Dec. 2022 when he was arrested for allegedly striking a woman with a "closed hand type slap." The charges were later dropped.

Davis reportedly had been linked to a rematch with Lamont Roach Jr. in August after the two battled to a controversial majority draw in March. However, Premier Boxing Champions has yet to formally announce the fight.

Curious if they would go send Lance outside to play whenever the "adults" at Aston talk about the car for 2026.

A fellow who used to come into the barbershop I went to was one of the “penguins” in the camp. They were the guys who disposed of the dirt through the legs of their pants. He was a great guy. One day I was in there and he brought some material in from a reunion that Procter & Gamble had sponsored and included was a really slick bit of literature, sort of what we used to pick up at the car shows. This though gave detailed explanations of everything these guys did. He allowed me to borrow it and take it home and just promise to bring it back the following week. He was a great guy.

On a side note, I just received a note from my German cousin that she had to evacuate their house in Ettlingen, basically at the northern part of the Black Forest, because less than a minute’s walk from the house there was an unexploded bomb, a really big one, found at a construction site. Pretty damned interesting. I was just there last month and I walked around the construction site where the bomb was found.

    YIKES!

They were cleared to go back to the house.  The bomb was taken care of and taken away. Crazy.

Pascal Cleatus Poolaw, Sr., the most decorated Native American soldier in US history
    4 Silver Stars
    5 Bronze Stars
    3 Purple Hearts
He earned a total of 42 medals and citations.
Born on January 29, 1922, in Apache, Oklahoma, Poolaw, a full-blooded Kiowa, served with the United States Army in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Poolaw, his father and two brothers joined the Armed forces in 1942 during World War II. He earned his first Purple Heart when he was wounded in September 1944. While serving with the 8th Infantry Regiment's M Company near Recogne, Belgium, Poolaw's unit was engaging fire with the Germans. He pushed his unit forward under heavy fire and hurled hand grenades at enemy machine guns, causing numerous enemy casualties and as a result of his heroic actions, many of his comrades lives were saved and the company was able to continue the attack and capture strongly defended enemy positions.
Poolaw's military career did not end in Belgium ow with Germans. During the Korean War, Poolaw saw combat and was wounded again and awarded the Distinguished Service Cross, a second Purple Heart, and two more Silver Stars.
He returned to the U.S. in 1952 and retired from the Army ten years later. This is not where his military career ends.
During the Vietnam War, all four of the Poolaw's sons were in the military. In February 1967, his son, Pascal Jr., was injured by a landmine in Vietnam. This injury resulted in amputation of his right leg below the knee. Poolaw’s youngest son, Lindy, was also drafted. Afraid of what could happen to his sons as the war progressed, Poolaw rejoined the Army at the age of 45. Giving up his rank as a 2nd Lieutenant with the intentions of serving in direct combat, Poolaw hoped to keep his youngest son away from the front lines by taking his place. Regulations prohibited two members of the same family from serving in combat at the same time without their consent. Unfortunately, by the time he arrived on the West Coast, Lindy had left for Vietnam the day before.
Poolaw was deployed on May 31, 1967 as a first sergeant of the 26th Infantry Regiment's C Company. His last Silver Star was for an event that occurred a few months later. On November 7, 1967, Poolaw's unit were part of a search and destroy mission near the village of Loc Ninh. Poolaw and his unit were ambushed by the Viet Cong force with intensive claymore mine, rocket, small arms, and automatic weapons fire. While wounded, he continued moving among his squad making sure everyone was positioned properly while pulling casualties back.
As Poolaw was carrying a wounded soldier to safety, he was struck by a rocket propelled grenade and killed. For his heroic actions Poolaw was awarded a Silver Star and a third Purple Heart posthumously. " He has followed the trail of the great chiefs," his wife Irene said at Poolaw's funeral. His people hold him in honor and highest esteem. He has given his life for the people and the country he loved so much."

Overall, this is about what I expected. Missing 5-6 guys against mexico is just not a recipe for a good night. I will say, those guys fought their asses off, so I tip my hat to them. If you had told me before the tournament that we were going to make it farther than Canada and Panama, I would have laughed at you.

There are 5 guys from this team I’d like to see in September. Luna, Tillman, Richards, Ream, and Adams.

I do think there are some guys who could be culture guys who should stick around. Berhalter, Freeman, Agyemang, and Freese.

Everyone else is a big meh for me. But I think you have to have those other guys there to help push the full squad.

I think your final paragraph is where I am with the guys who were not on the squad.  I think they should have been there. Not for 90 minutes a game but, to play some, and lead by example and start building the squad for the World Cup.
