  1. He's one of those guys I just assume hits .350 with 45 HRs because of how he crushes us, but, it turns out he's just slightly above average. He's be a definite upgrade though. ear Age Tm Lg G PA AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI SB CS BB SO BA OBP SLG OPS OPS+ TB GDP HBP SH SF IBB Pos Awards 2018 25 STL NL 21 17 17 3 2 1 0 0 1 0 0 0 7 .118 .118 .176 .294 -21 3 0 0 0 0 0 H/978 2020 27 TEX AL 3 7 6 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 4 .000 .143 .000 .143 -55 0 0 0 0 0 0 /7 2021 28 TEX AL 149 622 581 77 141 26 2 31 90 16 5 32 194 .243 .286 .454 .741 100 264 15 5 0 4 0 *89D/7H AS,RoY-4 2022 29 TEX AL 98 421 389 57 95 20 4 18 63 15 3 26 119 .244 .292 .455 .747 110 177 5 2 0 4 1 *89/D
  2. Happ would be good, but I don't know that I would be comfortable with what we would have to give up. I think Reynolds would cost more than we are willing to pay. After those two, there isn't much that seems like a clear upgrade over what we have. I read an article that mentioned Garcia from the Rangers. If the price was right, I'd probably go with that.
  3. Rooting for Hosmer to blow it up just to watch the world burn.
  4. When you might have to offer JV $35-$40M, have Bregs moving from $11M to $28.5, and have a holes to fill at 1B and LF, every little bit helps.
  5. Worked at the Black Eyed Pea near Town and Country mall in Houston for a few months when I was 19. Did a bunch of whippets in the walk-in at the beginning of a shift. A coworker went in a little while later and all of the whip cream from those cans had leaked out of the cans and gotten everywhere. I didn't fess up, but I did help with the cleanup.
  6. Perhaps most importantly, we get rid of Odorizzi's vesting contract for next season. Smith has a team option with a cheap buyout for next season. If he sucks, he won't be wont he playoff roster just like Odo wouldn't have been. But, unlike Odo, we can decline his option and hopefully give that money to JV instead.
  7. Both guys going over the Vasquez trade are Rule 5 eligible in offseason.
  8. Not sure about Murray's Rule 5 eligibility. If he's not eligible after this season, this looks like an even swap. Picked him after he was DFA'd last season. Turned him into Trey Mancini. Not bad.
  9. If there is concern about Brantley, you can still go get Bell. Contreras or Vasquez should still be on the table too.
  10. Sounds like Mancini may have been cheap:
  11. Really curious who the "multiple pitching prospects" are. It won't be Brown. Odo isn't a prospect. Maybe Whitley?
  12. We've discussed how the Crawford Boxes generally benefit lefties because opposite field shots go out instead of being lazy flyballs. But Mancini may see quite a benefit:
  13. I like it. His versatility will be an asset. Can play him in LF, Yordan at DH, and Yuli at 1B if Yuli keeps hitting well.
  14. Serviceable probably sums it up well based on what I've read.
