  1. I'm not sure how many times I have to give you the same info.

Well first off, don’t be cunty, you don’t HAVE to give a shit and i’ve yet to accept your omnipotent’ish vibe. You seem to have above average insight into the industry, but that’s it. What would a band like DMB who can sell out pre covid have to lose by putting concert dates out now?

  2. His management is stalling.

stalling...what are you talking about? they are literally one of the earliest bands to commit to big shows starting in July. you seem to know about the touring industry which makes your negative outlook bombs hard to understand. outside of states overruling their plans, how can public announcements with date commitments equal his management stalling?
  3. Jumping from day 1: We finished up with 9 days of skiing the northeast corridor, chasing snow south (Sugar loaf, Saddleback, Sugarbush, Jay Peak, Sunday River, and finally Killington)  We got 9 days of skiing in mostly good, soft snow with bluebird skies 6 out of the 9 days. We found some great tree glades at most places, and had a blast doing the tailgate living thing at the ski report parking lots.  I didn't think I was gonna get a single day on the hill this season.
Found a couple hot tub poaching opportunities along the way as well. Met an old dude, Erv at some way out of the way steak place in Maine, the Trails End (and it was).  We got to talking, and were headed out to grab a smoke, he says come with me. Goes in his truck, and hauls out a gallon bag of weed, and sticks a hand full in our hands, and says try this, I grow it up here.
Cover started getting thin as we worked into southern Vermont, but were rewarded with 16-18" of some really great powder at Killington our last 2 days.  We found some great tree runs with 20" stashes of powder, and big, soft bumps everywhere.  All the closed runs had fresh untracked stuff both days, and we took full advantage of rope ducking.
I've always been kinda snobbish about skiing here in the east, but we found great runs at just about every resort we hit, steep bumps, trees, some great long bumped up blues, and blacks.  Most places had about 2,500' of fall, not huge, but we had a blast.  Already making plans for a February, and an early spring run next season.

i grew up skiing in vermont. both parents went to school there. my dads band used to play at the red barn by stowe which is still there. if you hit the right snow then killington is awesome, otherwise you learn the gnarly skill of ice skiing which makes you better one way or another.
  4. I haven't been up for a few weeks, so not sure on conditions.  It's been snowing regularly, though.  I think the WP side of the mountain is closed for the season.  Only Mary Jane is still open.

Just checked OpenSnow and they are supposed to get a foot of snow tomorrow.

yeah, a couple of us vaxxed ones flying up friday for final runs. only MJ side open as of yesterday. but i’ll take it.

  5. taking a hard look at winter park next weekend for some final runs. i see they just got dumped on and the apps show promising late spring conditions...anyone have first hand knowledge ?

  6. Dang.
Yet ACLfest wants me to buy tix for October.  October seems more likely than this summer though.

It was a big move for ACL to recently publish the October date and i’ll sure as shit but tix the moment they become available. With vax rates I struggle how outdoor won’t happen by then.
  7. I’m here now, but down by Cinnamon Shores which is riff raff free. There is a college party section up the beach but i’d say the beach in general is more family than college spring break. Lots of cops patrolling. Almost zero masks in the restaurants.

  8. Taking my kids for the first time next week. We’re going to drive over to Snowshoe and see how they do. I signed them up for private lessons the first day because they just want to snowboard, so we’ll see how they do with that before figuring out the other days. Conditions will probably suck this late, but we didn’t want to fly so this was an easy trip.

this late? spring skiing can be the shit.
