This thread derail is so bad I had no clue what thread I was in until I got to the end of the page. I do agree that listening to an audiobook does not mean you read it. People saying the read thirty books last year all of which were while they were driving to and from the office need to say the listened to thirty audio books.
That’s why I stick to my highlights magazine.
Goofus derails the Elon thread debating whether listening to audiobooks is the same as reading books.
Gallant says "Hey! we should get back to the subject of what a low life nazi piece of shit Elon Musk is."

Absolutely not, Republicans are going to get destroyed, and I'm looking forward to it.
From a certain point of view, there is indeed no bottom, for Republicans and MAGA
If we have something like fair elections in 2026 and 2028, Trump and Republicans will be historically unpopular and Democrats should be able to make gains that are unprecedented in the last 50 years. There will still be maga die hard dumbshits, the type that were blaming Jimmy Carter for the economic crash of 2008 and there will be enough of them to stop Republican bleeding in the Senate considering the unfavorable map in 2026. All best case scenario as I see it, but Democrats have a good chance of having Presidency and both houses of Congress in 2028 assuming fair elections and all that. After that, they'll need to deliver on substantial changes that help regular people despite the maga stacked courts and a free press that's either dead or consolidated under the thumb of mega billionaire oligarchs. Attack the mega billionaires, monopolies, corruption, money in politics, and the post truth culture of dishonesty. Champion the working class, affordability and access, and the revival of the American Dream. Of course, Democratic leadership will never do any of that because they want to keep all that corporate cash. The voters will have short memories in the 2030 midterms, same as in 2010 and we'll only have postponed permanent oligarchy. I'm going to live it up in the time that's left before I'm condemned to the USA, XAmazon Fulfillment Labor Camp whether that's next year or in the early 2030s. That's my probably too optimistic take and my contribution to balancing the Force.

Ohio, Maine, North Carolina, Iowa, Texas, Florida, Alaska, Nebraska (technically an independent that will caucus with Democrats, but whatever) and Kansas.
I think you're right to an extent. I expect Trump and Republicans to be historically unpopular a year from now because all the fascism and a crashed out economy. Still, putting Kansas in the win column because Dems won one statewide election in 2018 during a blue wave after Republicans had bankrupted the state is like counting on Alabama because of Doug Jones beating Roy Moore that one time. Susan Collins won comfortably in 2018 despite the blue wave. Nebraska, Ohio, Iowa, and Alaska haven't voted Dem statewide in I don't know when. I expect we might have a pleasant surprise out of one of those but no way we run the table. You also have to account for the high probability of unprecedented cheating by Republicans and the ineptitude of Democrats. All that if we even have elections.

If all the roles were reversed to where the Dems had the Presidency, House, Senate, judiciary, with the same margins during the same kind of shutdown, the Republican Senate minority leader would be co-president right now. Especially after an electoral sweep, they'd be making constant headlines. We'd be so fucking sick of that guy.

I was underage dipshit. Who did you vote for?
He never opposed the agenda of Dick Cheney, most especially the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. The only opposition to all that back then was on the left. Some day, he'll act as if he was always against the overreach of ICE, the annihilation of small "drug smuggling" boats without due process, the blatant weaponization of the DOJ, the invasions of Venezuela and Nigeria, etc... For now, of course, he won't offer any criticism of this administration whatsoever. He's a miserable drunk prick and a liar.

Bold prediction: If we invade Nigeria and Venezuela, the government shutdown continues through Christmas, the economy tanks worse than 2008, ICE goes crazy with tear gas in 20 more cities, they tear down West Wing of the White House, and the Epstein files get released and show that Trump repeatedly fucked underage girls, I could see his approval rating dipping into the high 20s.

Gun Control

I'm negging your posts on this page because they apparently took down your racist shit on the football board. Not that your posts on this thread aren't stupid, worthless, and poorly reasoned. Question for you or anybody else, do the rep points still count when a post is deleted by admin?
