McClard's is far from meh, and that frito pie tamale chili thing is an abomination. But their que is good. Stubby's is also got some good eats including BBQ. Pizza place across from the racetrack is really good. There is nothing in the village unless you play golf or have/rent a boat. Hike up the mountain behind the bath houses in Hot Springs proper is awesome. If you are driving in and go through Lewisville, AR definitely make a stop at Burges for a smoked turkey sandwich and a peach fried pie. Their smoked tukey is the best I've ever eaten
Short trip to Charleston coming up next weekend. 1st stop on the way in Friday-John Lewis, where I will order a ridiculous amount of food as I have been living in BBQ wasteland for several years now (Greensboro, NC). Lst stop on the way out, Rodney Scott-hope I am not disappointed by his 'que. Will attempt to upload pics upon return. I think my wife is nearly as excited as me...but she really probably is just playing along because she knows there is at least one beach day in between 'que!
In Raleigh- Cowfish. A sushi/burger joint mash up that has good vibe, good bar
In Chapel Hill-AJ's Burgers on the strip at UNC (Franklin Street)
Med Deli on Franklin is also really, really good
That's all I got. We don't get over there much
The BBQ is different and if you go expecting Texas style bbq you won't enjoy it. Pork, not heavily smoked and generally cooked fairly fast at higher temps. Sauces are not really good. I think Carolina slaw sucks ass. But, there are tons of good restaurants over there
Not all HR departments are run by people with shit for brains. Mostly it's the ones run by women in Service industries. Manufacturing tends to be different. IMHO. Now back to the regular scheduled programming......
I have had the great pleasure of sharting on the gold course. Hitting 2nd shot into green, good swing to about 12 feet. Try to squeeze one out but oops! Shart. Left a nasty pair of boxers in the trashcan on #7 at Tanglewood and played commando the rest of the day. Thankful that there were no more mishaps. Shot 84
Sullivan's Island beaches blow, IMHO. Flat and waveless. Folly is awesome. Great beaches and waves. Can and should be surfed. Another not to be missed restaraunt fave of ours is Wild Olive. Some of the best food I've ever eaten and is our #1 followed closely by SNOB as #2. Obstinate Daughter is sister restarunt but we've not been there yet
