Yep. OU has hired 5 coaches since Switzer and the first three of those were miserable failures and resulted in a decade of losing (sound familiar?). They were stuck in carousel purgatory until they hit on a coordinator with no head coaching experience but a penis tooth like no other. Should Riley leave, and especially in this year's market, it's no guarantee they'll hit on a winner. As we know all too well, miss on that first guy and you're chasing the dragon thereafter for an indeterminate amount of time.

But also OU has had 10 coaches in 76 years (post WW2 era). 5 coached for 9 seasons total and the other 5 won 43 conference titles in 67 years.

I doubt schnelly was banging 4 chicks at the same time in the back of the baccarat room

Almost certainly true but he was constantly drunk both on and off the job something which I don’t think Sark did, not constantly at least.

Schnellenberger resigned after pissing off everyone in Oklahoma
Fickell was an interim coach on a 1 year contract and staid on as DC

Make no mistake. Schnelly was 100 times worse drinker than Sark ever thought about being and was in active alcoholism when he was told he should leave. He was very effectively fired.

I would look at Real Deal Sober living first if he's looking for nicer. They have houses in Plano and Richardson that start at $800 I believe. I stayed at the Richardson one last year and it held me accountable, required meetings, etc. There are lots of Oxford houses in the area too, but you have to be careful with them as some can just be flop houses. If he's looking for cheaper, the Freeman House could be an option. It has a good age mix, but can be a little rough as it's mainly guys fresh off the streets or out of jail. Some guys from home group take a meeting there every week.

    appreciate it

  5. Looking for sober living recs for little bro in Collin or Denton county. Doesn’t need to be that nice probably better if it isn’t. He is 40 so doesn’t necessarily need to be in old fogies home but a good age mix would be ideal.

that is a fantastic story. really underlines why i think immigration should be easier and more widespread.

quick question: does that mean that the successful son is a dreamer?

I bet his undocumented father already has and he certainly will pay more taxes and general make a net positive contribution than many ninth generation full blooded Americans. We definitely should have built the wall and kept them out.

  7. What those people really don’t understand is how fucking doubly hard he worked to get to where he was at UW and USC while also holding down a full time drinking job. The thought just doesn’t occur to them that perhaps that is a sign of strength, resilience, and determination not weakness.  Only sort of kidding.

The no guns policy was one of his biggest failings as a head coach. We have plenty of data pointing to guns around the locker room resulting in national championship caliber teams. Just look at OU under Switzer, the Mack glory years, UF under Urban.

    Charlie should have known better.

Shit Urban had an honest to God serial killer - look what that did for him. They ought to hand out guns not ban them.

I'm not naïve at all. I'm on the fucking ledge, dude.

I'm saying that, barring a fairly unlikely comeback to get a 50/50 senate split, the only strategy the Democrats actually have right now involves getting actual legislation through the Senate. The only way to do that is to offer the Republicans things that they claim they want.

No way the Republicans agree to work together with the Democrats on anything. Hence the ledge.

Why do you think this is unlikely when both the GA senate seats are very clearly headed for reunoff making this a 50-50 senate if the dems win the runoffs?

edit:  my bad responding to the troll

My bad chi town. I like you. But there was just so much stupid shit in this thread I couldn’t help but make my contribution and the timing of your response could not have been more exquisite. Apologies. Back to regular programming.

You’ve probably heard of Bruce Cassidy.  A top tOSU donor and  good buddy of Urban’s.  They’ve golfed multiple times in the past few weeks.

I said I’d update after we met and that’s this.  Those very close to Urban are very sure he’s done.  But I’m sure Urban thinks he’s done up until the second he’s not.  Anyway, the comparison I got was Jimmy Johnson - a guy who left in his prime and by all accounts has had zero regrets.

Wish it was some crazy scoop but only fun part is what everyone here could have guessed anyway - he will listen because he can’t stand TH and gets a laugh out of the shit TH is catching these days.

    LO FUCKING L
