When SEC morons try to brag about being the best and where 'it just matters more,' somehow, Mississippi State never comes up in the conversation.

Steve Sark sucks so surely he should surrender playcalling and salvage some of our season, saving surlyites from suicide. 😡
Absolutely astonishing alliterative acumen always aligns around an agreeing alphabetic answer. Avoid awful, awkward alterations and achieve amazing auditory appeal. Always appreciate alliteration’s awesome allure!

Dude is quitting on his team. He knows it’s over. There isn’t no playoff.
Again, I’m embarrassed for myself that I choose to participate on this platform w people like you.

I met a DE/OLB former player this weekend at KoKos Bavarian who was there for the afternoon games and some of the Texas game. He was in full Indiana gear and I yelled "this guy has been waiting for this his whole life" he came over and we bro hugged and he told me his story about how he's loved the program for so long and how great it is to be excited about it.
Being an Indiana fan has to be awesome right now.
Koko's Bavarian is back open? Best news I've heard this fall. Thanks!

I hope Mississippi State doesn't do anything on defense that Texas isn't expecting, like Sark said Kentucky did, because that's not fair.
Perhaps lawyers for Texas can send Miss. State admin a letter before the game warning them of legal repercussions if they try any of that shit.
Also, Texas should alert Greg Sankey's office.

i’ll also keep this very short because i don’t want to turn this into a whole thing, but i’ll simply say that if you aren’t a fan of our cruel dictator of a president or what he’s done to this country, then why on earth would you ever root for QE who openly supports that vile shit?
You talk endless crap about one of our former players.
Apparently, that isn't hateful enough, so you've expanded the argument to include his political beliefs as a key reason to dislike him.
And yet, you continually try to convince us you're not a hater.
Okay, glad that we got that cleared up.

How embarrassing is it for Texas that Napier's team beat the Longhorns and he STILL got fired for sucking?

I wouldn't put too much into what Taaffe said. I think he was 100% just sticking up for his quarterback and good friend, and taking the heat off of him.
Plus, he's a Sip.

This is so funny to me. You have grievances from all the fighting on the Quinn thread the last few years and you're being a little insincere on some of these play breakdowns and criticisms with Arch.
I honestly didn't think Quinn was very good. I thought Arch would come in this year and be an instant upgrade. I was wrong. I have no problem admitting that. Sticking to it would be denying reality. So here we are, with Arch clearly needing A LOT more work, trying to have an honest discussion. I hope you'll join me.
Being reasonable. Negged.

Most of the people bitching about him have sat on the couch and drank a lot of beers for this program and that’s about it.
And not even good craft beers.

Confused by this post. I don’t think he’s exceeded anything yet.
- Not actively recruited by D1 programs
- Came to Texas as a walk-on. (It may have been preferred status, but walk-on regardless)
- Earned a scholarship
- Earned starter role
- Made plenty of good plays and has been a ball-hawk
- Yes, Taaffe has exceeded expectations

Both things can be true.
We can just be glad Texas got a win while suffering a letdown against a very determined Kentucky team, and be upset that Arch missed some important throws, Ant missed a sure fumble recovery with a bungled scoop-and-score, and a veteran WR runs out of bounds to kill the clock.
Perhaps the key takeaway is that Texas has improved to a point where they can routinely win games they used to lose.

Westlake players always fall on footballs. I've been saying it for years that they are better coached than Texas.

sorry, but has Baxter ever looked like the #1 RB recruit during his time at Texas?
Yes

"Hahahah! it's fun to laugh at James Franklin! I'm so glad he is humiliated!!!!
Oh, he's going to make $20,000 a day? Ahhh, never mind."

Even if he hangs on for dear life like Mack Brown from 2010-2013, he will still be an IU legend.

(1) ✅ 2023, 2024, 2025
(2) ❌ : 3 years ago, 2022, he was in high school.
(3) Texas vs Washington, January 1st, 2024 (Less than two years ago, but two seasons ago) . . .
Baxter fumbled.
Apparently he was having a good game, but I only remember his fumbling away the game.
9 carries, 64 yards 1 TD
2 receptions, 39 yards
1 Fumble: 2nd play of the drive after Washington went up 28-21, Baxter fumbled. Washington scored a FG and then Texas went 3 and out.
After fumbling, Baxter had one more touch for the rest of the 2nd half. A 3 yard run.
Perhaps I would have remembered his running if he hadn’t fumbled away our season.
Dude, it's his third season with the Horns, but you keep harping on a pointless detail. What the hell?
More importantly, you've changed my perspective on Baxter by reminding us he fumbled. Now I view him as a hopelessly bad failure and wish him nothing but unhappiness. I'm so sorry I spent time with him.
Thanks. Love to buy you a mocha latte if you have time.

It has been mentioned, but there should be a stat of average negative yards the Longhorns give up when nobler doesn’t just fair catch the ball.
Ummm…
Cedric Baxter was a high school senior 3 years ago and I think that he was injured for a large part of that season.
Baxter was injured almost his entire freshman season, but played and was largely ineffective.
Baxter was injured all last season.
Baxter has been largely ineffective since trying to return from injury this season.
There may be a theme here.
While this season is not complete, this is the third season he is on campus. He played for Texas three seasons ago when he started against Bama as a true freshman. He played in the playoff game vs Washington and had 64 yards rushing on 9 carries and 1 TD. More importantly, he's a cool dude and I want him to win. I can't imagine how hard this is for him. He could help the team if he was healthy.

I'm not moving anything, I'm framing what Columbus did in a proper manner. If he didn't land here some other euro would have stumblefucked his way over at some point. He's just not as consequential as you want him to be.
“…some other euro would have…”
But they didn’t. He did. You can’t give others credit for something they didn’t do.
Hence, he receives and deserves the accolades.
I personally don’t care about the political discussion here either way. As a history lover, I was responding to the posters who are trying to negate his achievements, which were extraordinary for their day, and kicked off a golden age of exploration, because of today’s conventional wisdom. The fact that he was brutal by our standards doesn’t negate his achievements, just as the brutality, human sacrifice and cannibalism of the Polynesians and brutal raiding culture of the Vikings doesn’t negate their achievements.
i leave you with this actual funny quote from one of Pizzaro’s captains about why they came to conquer the Incas. “We came to spread light into the darkness. And to get rich.”

This former mobster explains how they get professional athletes trapped and force to work for them. Really interesting.
