NIL really hasn't been great for Italy's recruiting.

He's developing his post-NBA career persona.
    Think Kendrick Perkins but worse.

Yeah, he's made no secret that he wants to be known as more than a basketball player and delve into social issues...

...he's just really, really, really fucking bad at it.

But nothing can ever be worse than Kendrick Perkins.

Somebody made the edit.  I just wish they would have dubbed in “And now, from Chicago, your new Pope, Robert Preeeeeevooooooost!”

If that song/intro didn't give you chills before the tipoff of Game 1 of virtually every Eastern Conference Finals in the 90's, I hate you, and I need you to not be alive anymore.

It'll be interesting to see how the new Pope treats the LGBTQ community. One of the (many) reasons I left Catholicism was the condescending "love the sinner, not the sin" approach that even a decent guy like Francis took. I don't consider my lifestyle a sin, thank you very much.

I think that was probably my favorite Johnny Sackism. "We have multiple gay people at our Church, and we treat them with same respect and decency as everyone else. We just happen to believe that their existence is a sin. No biggie."

I still think Boston has a chance to win this series.

Definitely. They have to play at their absolute worst to lose. The Tatum/Brown core has proven through the years that they can lay an egg at literally any time. But they can also string some wins together. It wouldn't surprise me at all if it resembled the 2012 WCF, when OKC got punched in the mouth twice by San Antonio, then reeled off 4 straight.

An American pope.  So, I presume we can expect:

1 - the new Popemobile will be a jacked-up F-250 (the truck nuts will be covered, in a nod to Catholic decency standards)

2 - communion wafers replaced with Cheetos

3 - an Applebee's inside the vatican walls

4 - an annual blessing of the Stock Cars before NASCAR season kicks off

"Welcome to the Version Wireless Vatican Arena. I love you."

I know, and I loved it.  I was fanboying Ghorman.  Everything about them- the architecture, the culture, the language.

    Excited Anna Kendrick GIF

Ok, but you have to admit that, after the 900 hundredth song/chant/speech/declaration/reminder about how special it is to be a Ghor, Imperial propaganda pretty much wrote itself. Uppity bastards should be miserable like the rest of us.

The student loan thing is just wild to me.  The last guy was trying to cancel 10-20k of everyone's outstanding student loans, or at least forgive the interest and cancel any that already paid back the principle. Like, do you not see that as your OWN interest?  Literally nothing Republicans have done in the last 30 years has been anywhere close to giving middle class or lower people that much of a break on taxes or anything.

The only thing even close to it is the Covid checks, increasing child and various tax credits, and now these potential "$5,000 DOGE checks" that are certainly not going to happen.  Like what monetary benefits do you people with less than 200k in assets get out of a Republican president?  These people are too stupid to even have their votes bought with policies that save them money.

It will be a cold day in hell before I pay for your underwater basket weaving degree from Woke Indoctrination University!

  9. I understand that telling a team to change its gameplan--and what's essentially its identity--mid-game because the 3's aren't falling is easier said than done, but would it kill Boston to show a little urgency? Instead of running one action with 8 seconds on the shot clock before a pull up or one pass and shoot, I don't know, maybe run a play with 14 seconds on the clock and make New York defend multiple actions? If it still results in a 3, so be it, but at least the ball would be moving.
