FIL trotted this out when the wife and I were talking about going to NYC this year.  Good to see he's still getting the talking points.  I then explained how we just got back from downtown San Francisco and weren't murdered or stabbed with needles or walking through piles of shit.  He was flabbergasted.

That is my Dad to a tee. He was an airline pilot and talks about how much safer NYC was when he used to have layovers there and he would bring along me or my mom for visits to the city. This was the late 80s/early 90s, the absolute height of violent crime in NYC (and every other city in the US). "I wouldn't even step foot there today," he says (facepalm).

I'm really thinking about voting in the R primary.

One of the people Dunn and Wilks are targeting is my local rep, Lynn Stucky.

Y'all remember Katrina Pierson? She got 50k to run against Holland.

    And a little more recent

There was seemingly a flirtation with TX 06

    And here we are today

Lynn Stucky. I have to vote for Lynn Fucking Stucky

LOL, he was our family's veterinarian for years when I was a kid.

Say what you will, but his synthesizer-heavy 1985 debut album was groundbreaking.

Do you remember DC? He's a musician. Used to have a group, Autobahn. Look in my LP's. They released one album in the late '70s. Their music is sort of a techno pop.

Welp. That's enough Internet for me today.

For me, it was "gunt mouth fold" that did it.

We finally sat down to watch this last night. We wanted it to be a night where we could start it relatively early (8pm) so if we wanted to break it up we could. We took a small break right after Jesse Plemons showed up and then restarted. I really enjoyed it. Lily Gladstone should win Best Supporting. She was fantastic. I thought DeNiro was great. It reminded me a bit of his Angel Heart character. Wife mentioned Leo seemed to be channeling some from his character in What's Eating Gilbert Grape. The brutality was tough to take and I mentioned to the wife that I was ready for Jesse Plemons character to show up just to get the wheels of justice to start turning. Lots of great cameos. I didn't have any issues with the epilogue. I thought it was a good way to wrap up what happened. We had to go back and look at a few scenes as I knew Henry Grabber looked familiar (Sturgill Simpson). Then I saw Jack White in the credits as one of the radio show actors so we went back and watched it again. I think in any other year this one wins Best Picture but Oppenheimer is inevitable this year.

We finally watched it last night too. I had somewhat low expectations having read the book, which was excellent, and then seeing some of the negative comments on here. But I was pleasantly surprised. We enjoyed it. Agreed that DeNiro was great and Gladstone should win the Oscar.

And now the wokesters want to take Lee Majors from us, all because he fights with the colors of the American flag, while all they do is leave our televisions with nothing but static. They can try taking my Greatest American Man tapes, but they’ll never take Lee from our hearts our minds when we eat, sleep, and even make love.

Uh, that ain't Lee Majors for fuck sake.
