  1. Not just that we didn’t watch film and anticipate the using DG as a runner, it’s that we didn’t adjust and bring an extra blitzer after our DL showed that they alone could not pressure/contain him.
  2. I agree, I wouldn’t assign a spy to a QB with no history of running. I don’t classify DG as a QB with NO history of running. He has a history of some running and the pre-game expectation was that OU was going to throw everything at this game, to include running their fragile QB. The discussion goes beyond just spying him. The bigger issue was that our DL alone was not doing enough to make DG uncomfortable on obvious passing downs and their 2 minute drill offense. This was painfully obvious by the end of Q2. PK did nothing to adjust and to assign an extra pass rusher to at least make him uncomfortable in the pocket. PK was fine with playing soft getting gashed that way.
  3. That’s true. Their OL neutralized our front 4. We needed an extra defender to making at least somewhat uncomfortable.
  4. There’s nothing to explain, OU wasn’t playing for a clear path to the CFP last year. OU had no reason to risk running an undersized QB on a throwaway season, especially after seeing him get crunched by TCU. This isn’t last year. We were the only real obstacle in their path. The analysis leading into the game was that they were going to pull out all stops and do whatever it takes to beat us, which included running their undersized (but very athletic QB). If you didn’t see that coming, then I don’t know what to tell you. But I do expect our millionaire DC to see an obvious thing like that coming and to actually prepare for it. PK did what was necessary to slow down Milroe. I have no idea why he decided not to respect his legs. It cost us the game.
  5. Because running your QB and risking injury against opponents you can beat in your sleep is fucking stupid?
  6. That play and the whole drive was a cluster fuck on defense. I thought PK would have some spying and blitzes saved for Gabriel. Instead… it was his vaunted “bend the break”.
  7. Mature dude, doing nature dude things. Shouldn’t have been put in that position anyway.
  8. Our defense during their final drive is indefensible. I don’t understand PK’s obsession with the prevent defense. We were playing one of the best 2 minute drill offense’s in the nation and it was proven that their 5 could handle our 4 most of the game. Not putting Ant Hill out there and mixing up some blitzes was a game losing mistake. DG under pressure = bad. DG with time and a clean pocket = one of the best in the country.
  9. Complete hyperbole. Our lines did not get “dominated”. They can tell themselves that all they want. Our lines got neutralized and lost plays at critical times of the game. Offensive line was expected, after losing a 30 Game Center. Defensive line was a bit of a surprise. Their effort looked a bit poor at times. Sark knew that our offensive line was degraded, 4 plays into the game. His playcalling at the goal line is a bit inexcusable. PK’s approach to containing Gabriel was straight baffling. Their game winning drive shows us shades of 2021 “bend then break” PK.
  10. This. I know Sark loves wiry speedsters, but the RZ is where I want stronger Quan Cosby or Duvernay types.
  11. Any injury update/prognosis on our 2 OL and Catalon?
  12. I would actually love to see a simulation of this team vs the 2018 squad. 2018 team had some decent dudes on defense: Omenihu, Gary Johnson, Brandon Jones, Sterns, Locke III, D. Davis, and an athletic but undisciplined Boyd. (Also a young Ossai getting some snaps. Offensive line was solid: Calvin Anderson, Cosmi, and a bunch of Seniors from Charlie’s classes. I think that Sam would light up PK’s defense with LHJ and Dev Duv grabbing 50/50 balls. Sam would also get yards on the ground. On the other side, the tite front would slow down our run game up the middle, but that defense had a hard time setting the edge. Ewers would be a wildcard: If Gary Johnson gets to him, he probably gets cracked. If not, Worthy and AD burn Boyd and Co.
  13. This. He’s adapted and changed his ways before. Maybe he’ll realize that the current set up needs improvement.
  14. Tendencies.. not personality. I should clarify: Sark is 10x the recruiter and 100x the person. But as a game day coach, there are many similarities.
  15. I’ve said this many times before, but Sark has many Tom Herman tendencies.
  16. The scheme against Gabriel was fucking baffling. I expected us to spy him with Ant Hill all day long.
  17. Kansas hung 51 on UCF with Bean. WTF was today.
  18. If that’s the case, then that’s a complete coaching failure. Run 4 WR sets and make them defend something different, rather than trying to force JT to act like his 100% self.
  19. Still baffled at our defensive performance on their game winning drive. Holy fuck… looked like a scrimmage.
  20. Bama’s offensive line is a shell of its former self.
  21. Especially the screen to worthy that they’ve seen many times before.
  22. 10 receptions for 115 yd. Dude balled against ou today.
