Funny seeing Liddell say he didn’t want to go in. Not sure what to make of that

yeah that was strange.  it didn't look like either he or shaka was upset that he said no but weird

What was up with that?  Has this team given up on Shaka?  That was a major red flag imo.

Fremont man arrested in connection with fatal shooting of 17-year-old

Police said suspect was arrested in Texas, plotting to flee country

A Fremont man has been arrested and charged in connection with the Dec. 4 shooting in the city that killed a teenager and left another person wounded, police said Wednesday.

Christian Kelling, 21, was arrested Dec. 12 in Pflugerville, Texas, by the U.S. Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, after he had fled to that area in an apparent plot to avoid capture and flee the country, police said.

He was charged Tuesday with murder and attempted murder by the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office, and will be transported back to California soon to be arraigned, police said.

The shooting in the city’s Northgate neighborhood, which killed 17-year-old Damani Chadly of San Ramonwhile he was in a car, appears to have been the result of a marijuana sale gone bad, according to Fremont police.

Kelling allegedly was selling marijuana to Chadly and a 19-year-old man with him a little before 11:20 p.m. Dec. 4 when “a dispute occurred regarding the transaction, prompting Kelling to fire several rounds into the victim vehicle as it fled, striking both victims multiple times,” Fremont police said.

During a police search of the car Chadly was riding in, marijuana packaged for sale was located.

Fremont police Lt. Mike Tegner said the department started getting tips about the shooting soon after the crime occurred.

“Through a social media account we came up with his name, came up with who we thought it was, and then we found a car that was associated to him,” Tegner said Wednesday.

Police surveillance cameras and license plate readers captured a 2013 Honda Civic associated with Kelling driving north on nearby Fremont Boulevard near Enea Court just minutes after the shooting, which police later reviewed in their investigation.

“We ended up finding out that we believed that he was in Texas,” Tegner said. “He had purchased a flight from Texas to outside of the country. And so when we did some research out there, we were able to come up with this residence in Pflugerville, which is just outside of Austin.”

U.S. marshals found a car with California plates at the Texas home, which Tegner said appears to have been a car Kelling purchased from a San Leandro resident. When local police checked the San Leandro residence associated with the car, they found Kelling’s Honda Civic parked nearby, with the plates removed.

Tegner said it appears that after the homicide, Kelling drove immediately to Texas in the car he purchased and stayed at a family member’s home.

U.S. marshals surrounded the home and arrested Kelling; Pflugerville police later searched the home, finding a loaded 9mm gun with a sound suppressor, as well as ammunition, a large quantity of cash and suspected marijuana, police said.

Tegner noted the bullet rounds found at the scene of the murder in Fremont were 9mm as well, but it’s not yet clear if the gun found at the Texas residence was used in the crime.

On the night of the shooting, police received calls from neighbors in the area who said they heard gunshots and a car crash into a fence.

Officers arrived and found that the car Chadly was riding in had crashed into the side of a house at the corner of Chaucer Drive and Torrington Court; he was in the passenger seat suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Despite first aid efforts from a nearby resident and emergency personnel, Chadly died at the scene at 11:35 p.m., police said. The 19-year-old was found a short time later. He was treated for gunshot wounds at a hospital and released.

Chadly was a member of Oakland’s Youth Radio and East Bay media communities, following in the footsteps of his father, Kareem Chadly, and participated in several of Youth Radio’s educational training programs.

An online fundraising campaign, which had raised nearly $9,615 toward a $35,000 goal as Wednesday afternoon, described Damani Chadly, a senior at San Ramon’s California High School, as a music-production teacher and beatmaker.

Tegner said the case, which marked the city’s third homicide of the year, required a large amount of coordination among local and federal law enforcement agencies to crack.

“When we have a homicide in Fremont, we pretty much tap every resource we have. We take all crime seriously, but obviously homicide rises to another level,” he said.

“We’re always saddened by something like this, especially somebody that’s 17 years old and still in high school,” he said.

My Evo R Salt is almost 2 years old now, and is still spotless. I’ve got an OG small arbor Gunnison that’s 16 years old and been used almost exclusively as a Redfish reel, and not a spot of rust anywhere. That said, I think it’s either going to be another Everglades or a CCV-X2.

Don't fix if it ain't broke, right?

Ty Montgomery did it in on a kickoff in a game for Green Bay a while back I think. Only dude I’ve seen smart enough to do that on purpose.

This is the key point. I don't understand all the comments about what a weird rule it is. The rule is perfectly consistent with every other rule involving a situation like that. If the ball touches a player who is out of bounds, the ball is out of bounds. That is the case in every situation I can think of. There's nothing inconsistent or weird about it, and yes, absolutely it is underutilized by most teams and returners. When a kickoff guy is good at putting it in a corner the receiving team should be aware of this possibility on every kick.

Also, it's happened three times in the NFL in recent history. Ty Montgomery and Randall Cobb did it for the Packers and Dwayne Harris did it for the Raiders just this month. The last one is probably where the Cal guy saw it.

You are misunderstanding me. I am not taking shots at Herman. I am taking shots at the program, which I fear is becoming like that at Tennessee. I fear that we lose by a couple of scores to Georgia and then win only 7 or 8 next year while the fucking gooners just keep marching on, and then Herman's seat gets hot, and here we go, 2014 all over again.

Herman needs a full five. Period. No matter if we don't make a bowl next year or not. He's a smart guy and a good coach who is learning on the job, but the reality of this year and my prediction for next year are not pretty. Yeah it's true that we match up schematically pretty well with the Dawgs, but what I saw from the athletically scared the Bejesus out of me. Their OL is so athletic and well-coached, and Fromm can just sit back there most times, even against Bama's D.

Y'all, I pretty much nailed this season back in August when our fellow Horn dad called me and asked me what I thought. I put the over / under at 9 wins (or maybe 8 ) and said the D would be worse but the O would be better. And that's about exactly how it played out. I don't see how either unit is gonna be better next year, but I do think 2020 will be the dawning of a new era, if we just let it be. But if we don't win more that 6 next year, the "Fire Tom Herman" thread is gonna be at the top of the board every week and the boosters will be hearing it from the rabble and maybe agreeing with it. Which would be very stupid.

We have a good coach. We are overmatched in this bowl game. Next year is gonna be tough, but we need to stay the course. Sam Houston's whole army wanted him to turn and attack Santa Anna all the way to San Jacinto, but he kept his own counsel and waited until the exact right time, and he he not, it would have been a disaster. We are not there yet. We are a feisty team with an Alamo and a Goliad left in us but we are getting there, and when we turn on the enemy a couple of years down the line it's gonna be fearsome.

Proceed with the negs, accusations of a tiny penis and / or a vagina etc....Or hey, it's Christmas. PM me and I'll give you my address so you can send me some tampons.

    At least you finished strong.

Heading to POC Sat. Any spots that are better than others this time of yesr? Was thinking Pringle.

Looking at the wind for Saturday, looks like it's going to start pumping out of the south in the afternoon.  If I was you, I would wade some San Antonio Bay reefs in the AM and then seek refuge in the back lakes drifting and drinking in the PM.  Cutting back across the bay late afternoon shouldn't be too terrible with south wind and it looks like it's going to tapper off a bit later in the day.  Are you launching at Charlies or POC?  And I guess my recommendations also depend on what boat your'e running.  Good luck, post report.

That's good news. The nurse part too. Hopefully this is one of those stories where they find a treatable underlying condition and it ultimately saves your life. But damn, scary stuff.
