wow.  OK.  guess I will bold it out for you:

This is obviously difficult for you.  That particular quote is saying that it is rich saying "nations have this right" when the US very selectively "cares" about said right.  The quote never once said Biden caused those issues. The quote about Biden being a hypocrite very rightfully dealt with his utter war mongering regarding Iraq.

See?  Let me know if you need help dissecting other paragraphs of "misinformation."

I quite obviously already am. Your lack of reading comprehension doesn't require apologies from me.  But I will accept them from you if and when you have that moment of clarity.

Suggest you not be so sensitive when folks call out your misinformation. Be better. If it wasn’t intentional, you should still be better and shouldn’t just blindly quote from weird sources to support your positions.

What Trump did isn’t evidence of anything about Biden - and pretending it does say anything about Biden is misinformation.

Show me the quote that said Biden did that.  Maybe carefully re-read a sentence or two before going off on your high horse.  Edit: While I'm at it, why are you digging up your misinterpretation of what I posted in August of 2023?  Could you not have gone off in the wrong direction, oh I dunno, maybe within 3 to 4 months of me posting it?  Or are you incapable of reading dates as well?

I get that you are sensitive that I pointed out your misinformation. Be better.

For example, President Joe Biden has correctly asserted that “nations have a right to sovereignty and territorial integrity.” The United States, however, has been the only government in the world to formally recognize Israel’s illegal annexation of Syria’s Golan Heights and Morocco’s annexation of the entire nation of Western Sahara, both seized by force in defiance of the United Nations.

Because Trump formally recognized Israel's take of the Golan Heights and Morocco's take of western Sahara, isn't evidence Biden is a hypocrite for supporting Ukraine. You should acknowledge and apologize. Be better.

    Take care.

Spreading misinformation doesn't make sense to me.

Biden didn't formally recognize Israel's hold of the Golan Heights or Morocco's hold of western Sahara.  Trump did.  The fact Trump did all of that isn't an indication Biden is a hypocrite for supporting Ukraine.

    Don't spread misinformation.

This won't be a popular opinion,  But the DT  "50 Cal to Ukraine" thread bothers the fuck out of me.  The open bloodlust and eagerness to chip in to see death (and often from so-called liberals) when there are righteous causes right in Texan's back yard bothers me.  Don't see a "let's go stop the drowning of migrants" thread somehow picking up so many willing 100 dollar donations.  Or just about any humanitarian aid anywhere, including Ukraine. Send me videos of dead russian pawns instead.

Additionally, and I've mentioned this before, I didn't see this kind of outcry over many other atrocious wars and acts, a decent amount of which the US did more than just let happen.  Daily news on the horrors of the Russian v Ukrainian wars versus just about any other conclict, including the awful shit we did in the ME.

    As put by others:

I'm sure this lumps me into some lazy 'both sides' replies, and a few negs.   Which often makes me wonder if I fit in here at all.  Oh well, I'll go back to laughing along with whatever happens to the orange faced gibbon.  But I find the participation in that thread by some pretty damn awful.

wtf. Trump was the one who formally recognized Israel's sovereignty of the Golan Heights and Morocco's sovereignty over the western Sahara but somehow that is evidence that Biden is a hypocrite in his support for Ukraine. Make it make sense.

Speaking of disingenuous shit, I see that Anastasis is on here promoting the ridiculous casualty figures that he pulled from anti-Zionist Twitter, which (in line with Anastasis) is mostly obsessed with proving that Israel is worse than Russia.

What does the OHCR actually say about these figures:

    image.thumb.jpeg.b5e15c40adbe1b8f17efeab5b89d453c.jpeg

Russia hasn’t allowed any investigations or reporting from Mariupol, Sieverodontesk, and all the other cities they leveled and continue to occupy. It’s a black fucking box and everyone knows the there’s mountains of corpses but there’s no Hamas run health ministry to report it.

He’s been a total pro-Putin simp for years and yet his bullshit on this thread gets lapped up.

When faced with compelling information that counters a held narrative, one can either reflect and acknowledge the commonalities and obviously disproportionate situations --- or they can nitpick the dataset (but but but an asterisks wasn't carried over!!!) and then label the commenter an "other."

The Palestinian civilian population has a ton in common with the Ukrainian civilian population.  Both have been subjected to a grossly inappropriate level of carnage inflicted on them by the far-right.  One population has been subjected to it for a couple years - the other population subjected to if for a couple decades.

There are also obvious commonalities between Bibi, the Likud Party, other far-right extremist elements currently in control of Israel when compared to other far-right powers around the world (Hamas, Modi, Orban, Putin, Trump, Erdogan) - mainly the disregard for democracy and use of populism driven by fear-based xenophobic propaganda that dehumanizes the others.

Sadly, that dehumanization leads to bullshit like the October 7th attack by Hamas, the decades long occupation/blockades of parts of Palestine, the ongoing onslaught of Palestinian civilians, and the ongoing onslaught of Ukrainian civilians.

It is not propaganda to talk about the things Hamas actually did, and filmed. You are confusing propaganda with “facts I don’t like.”

Propaganda doesn't have to be composed of non-facts. Your commentary is un-productive gish gallop.  For others, I've pulled back the curtain.

Where you keep tripping up is that the “atrocity porn” is just stuff that Hamas filmed and distributed themselves, because they get off on rapes and murders.  And you just can’t stand that people notice.

That isn’t a “gotcha” or an excuse to be a propagandist.

It turns out that filming rapes and murders and bragging about them, and acting like assholes to people just going about their day is ineffective at garnering sympathy from lots of Americans.  What I find fascinating is that you blame people for noticing.

You are a propagandist and definitely one of the primary culprits in pushing twitter hot take atrocity porn here and in the DT, so I understand why you are triggered when I pull the curtains back. Maybe your next move should be to try and label me as the “other” and an antisemite.

I could plaster this thread with information on all the dead babies and children in Gaza and then label you as an “other” hoping to push some bullshit narrative.  But I don’t because that is disingenuous commentary and I’m not a propagandist.

Israel should've never let the illegal settlements take place in the West Bank. These people are their version of our shit-stirring "sovereign citizen" and QAnon-types, but likely much more dangerous.

This is the shit that I wish people in the US would understand. There is a dangerous movement in Israel that's taking over their politics with very illiberal ideals and who want to eventually ethnically cleanse the "Holy Land" of all Palestinians.

What's worse, we have Americans and ostensibly educated posters on this very site who are openly supportive of this war crime. I don't think I've seen a single poster that supports terrorism and war crimes committed by Hamas.

Meanwhile, Likud member and former Israeli ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, who's positioning himself to head the party, along with Smotrich, is advocating for the "voluntary migration" of Palestinian refugees to other countries for cash under the guise of humanitarian aid

I think we all know about Smotrich at this point, but here's more on some of Danon's views:

Great post. I think one way we have so many Americans being ok with supporting and financing war crimes is through the use of atrocity porn to dehumanize Palestinians and through random Twitter video clips of protestors to frame Palestinian supporters as “others.”

Somewhere someone online is typing up an incredibly similar post about all of the dead children Israel has bombed and ranting about how peace with Israel is not possible because they're inhuman monsters.

This is not to defend Hamas or downplay the horrors of what they did on 10/7 or the horrors they've inflicted upon the Palestinian people for whom they're supposedly responsible.  It's a fact of war.  Humans have and will always inflict what seems like unimaginable cruelty on others during war.  Hamas isn't unique in that regard and they're certainly not worse than the nazis were (saying that they are arguably gets pretty close to a form of holocaust denial).  You can read similar stories about atrocities committed by Israeli soldiers against Palestinans, by Japanese soldiers against Koreans and Chinese in WW2, by American soldiers against Vietnamese people, hell by American police against American children.

Every person on this planet from every ethnic and religious background is capable of doing great good and of committing horrible acts. That's the human condition. Every person on this planet has the urge you're demonstrating here: to excuse cruelty against innocent people because of the perceived inhumanity of the enemy. That only results in more cruelty in response.

There's an unfortunate calculus involved when determining the "collateral damage" that is morally "acceptable" to inflict when going after a group like Hamas or ISIS who needs to be destroyed by military force.  It's not possible to do that without killing innocent people to. But when you start thinking "fuck it, it doesn't matter how many innocent people I kill because they started it so it's entirely their fault" you take a big fucking step down the road to becoming as bad as them.  How do you think they got to thinking the same about Israeli civilians?

But if you ignore all of that, it becomes much easier to use atrocity porn to dehumanize the other side and justify military action against a civilian population

It’s almost like there’s a pattern out there of how excusing leads to tolerating leads to coddling leads to accepting leads to party capture and that loons need to be policed and excluded. Not excused.

Now apply this line of thinking to those who continue to support Israel.

Israeli forces unleashed an aerial and ground blitz against Hamas in Gaza after a cross-border rampage by the enclave's ruling Islamist group on Oct. 7. At least 16,015 Palestinians have been killed since then, according to Gaza Health Ministry figures, while 1,200 people were killed in Hamas' incursion into Israel, according to Israeli tallies.

In contrast, I think it is much easier to distinguish the Israeli government (which, by the way, has members of the Knesset who are Palestinian Israeli citizens) from Jews and Israelis of all faiths and ethnicities.

This part is makes me go wow. I suggest you ponder why you hold this belief and whether it based on your biases and the information sources you consume.

It was about 17 years ago that Hamas was elected. They were elected without a majority. The average age of Gazans is 17 years old. When was Bibi last elected?

Israel's government is shitty and authoritarian. Agreed

What about Hamas? Supported by most Gazans...and most Palestinians?

You know, the rapists and butchers who specifically and deliberately murdered babies, grandmothers, pregnant mothers to be and children in their homes.

The people who say over and over Israel must be obliterated.

Who won't allow the evacuation of its own civilians.

Who is the "health authority" in Gaza reporting suspect health info?

Who has copious amounts of staged, repurposed and suspect media with duplicative actors, dolls and clearly fabricated scenes depicting their "oppression?"

Who is holding 200+ innocent civilians, as well as its own civilians, PLUS all the international workers they will not allow to to leave gaza, hostage?

They need fuel for hospitals so bad they have been on their last reserves for days. Every day they are out of fuel for hospitals. Weird. Now I hear they are going to "run out" this weekend. Again. I wonder if Hamas wants fuel? Of course they do...and not for hospitals. Their lack of concern for Gaza citizens is pretty clear at this point.

This reads like a “just asking questions” guy who’s sole source of media is Twitter.

Collective punishment against 2 million people isn’t justified no matter what you think the polling of Gazans says.

I meant the threat ordinary Palestinians pose versus the anti-democratic trends in Israeli politics, but if you want to do Hamas v. Likud, be my guest.

Ordinary Palestinians don’t pose a threat to Israel. Hamas poses a threat to Israel.

The Likud party also pose a threat to Israel by propping up Hamas, promoting propaganda that dehumanizes the entire Palestinian population, and pushing the blockade and settlements.
