Yeah, that Burnet location has always been a favorite for us. Stop to eat there several times a year on the way to the ranch.
It’s always been clean, quick, and the food is on point.

That’s so fucked up and so stupid.

Yeah, that’s got to be a very, very, small club.
Edit: ^^^^^^ Rip just defined exactly how exclusive that club is. Crazy.

Been there, doing that and all I got was this lousy t-shirt.
To my gal's credit, she keeps it very in check. So I help her out in every way I can and here's what has worked at various stages:
1) Installed her own HVAC component. Really. We put in a window unit in the bedroom. It directs cold air right on her to help manage the internal furnace chaos. Easily the most vital thing we've done. If that isn't feasible, use fans, cooling blankets (she also bought and loves those) or suggest an ice-bucket challenge every so often.
2) Vitamin supplements. Get her on quality vitamins including Vitamin E. From what I've read that one is a key one to help manage pre- and menopausal symptoms. She's a bit lax on this but every time she does it regularly I observe the emotional and physical symptoms are better.
3) Obviously healthy eating and sleep and exercise are key. But those are disrupted if she's physically miserable.
4) Pray and or sacrifice to the ancient gods of female humors, particularly whoever is in charge of black bile.
5) If she chooses hormone therapy, monitor the hell out of that shit. It can sometimes be the cure that's worse than the symptoms.
6) Be careful with what doctors prescribe in general and research that stuff, if they recommend something. Some of them are SSRIs and mood-altering drugs that can have terrible side-effects.
Good luck.
And here I thought I was the only one that resorted to installing a window unit.
My wife would close off the bedroom and crank that thing down to the low to mid 60’s. I had to use an extra blanket, but she slept like a baby. Basically cured her sleeping problems due to the “change”.
She exercised a lot and took vitamins regularly, and I’m sure that helped.
Good luck, OP.

Speaking of, can we please get a consensus on the date the regular season thread should start? I don’t want @henrygandorf and @Hank Kingsley to have to issue an amber alert again if I’m tied up and not watching this thread on D-Day. Wednesday, March 27?
I vote for whatever day you did it in 2022.

Lanning is young, full of energy.. seems like recruits, even if they choose to go elsewhere, like him a lot. He will have growing pains but he at least has been on a staff with high expectations
But he’s not going to be the beneficiary of that sweet Phil Knight NIL money at Bama.

I’ve got a buddy that is an Ohio State grad, and he is damn near apoplectic about their performance tonight. Cracks me up.
Those idiots have no idea how the other half lives. Two losses and don’t make the playoffs? Fire everybody.
I hope they fire Day and hire a Charlie Strong equivalent. Let them wander the desert for a lost decade. They are due.

CBS trash talking FSU. All just picked:
1) Mischy
2) UW
3) Bama/FSU
4) TEXASNote: all were either or on #3, none said both.
Wrong.
The CBS postgame guys both had it:
1) Mich
2) Wash
3) Texas
4) Bama/FSU
Quite different implications than the way you posted it

PSA for Harris County homeowners aged 65 and over.
I discovered a couple of months ago that Harris County gives a $275,000 homestead exemption to homeowners aged 65 and above. That is in addition to your normal 20% homestead exemption.
So, doing the math, any house valued at $344,000 and below would owe roughly zero dollars in county taxes, instead of a $344,000 house owing roughly $2,400 in county taxes next year without the exemption. A house worth more than $344,000 will still get the benefits of the $275,000 over 65 and the 20% homestead exemptions.
The exemption also freezes the school district taxes as of the year the homeowner turns 65. The ISD taxes can never go up going forward.
It all is effective the year that the oldest on the title turns 65.
Unless HCAD somehow has the oldest of the homeowners’ date of birth on file, you must apply for the exemption. I would apply anyway at the beginning of the year the oldest turns 65 just to make sure. Very simple form you can do online on their website, you must upload your Texas driver’s license to prove the age 65.
The reason I bring this up is because two of my close neighbors and best friends had no idea about the over 65 exemption when I told them that I had filed. Now, after filing for the exemption, they and their spouses are supposed to get a couple of years of refunds from the county and ISD from their overpayments. Which will be several thousands of dollars.
The county certainly doesn’t publicize the exemptions, I can’t imagine how many people don’t know to take advantage of them. If you aren’t that old, make sure your parents are getting the exemptions.
